Couldn't see that anyone had started another thread after we filled up the last one, so hopefully I haven't made a double...

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil wow that's shocking! Sorry you had such a crappy time at that appointment

@HeartvsHead I build a pillow forte to stop me ending up on my back now. It's pretty effective Grin

LittleAndOften · 02/08/2019 15:55

Hi all, how are you getting on? I'm 26 weeks today! Getting comfy at night is a struggle. One pillow between the knees and another under the bump seems to be my best solution currently. I am loving my support belt by day, although I've started to get fanny daggers in addition to lower abdomen pain and the belt doesn't seem to help this!

FlowersCake to everyone who's in pain today xx

Farmmum7 · 02/08/2019 22:10

I'm suffering today I got up at 5 for work and when I went to get DD up at 8 I went to get onto the bed to give her a hug and something twisted or pulled just above my belly button I was quite worried for a bit I felt really faint and typically DH wasn't here and the kids weren't being helpful so I just took a couple of paracetamol and hoped for the best!! Everything seems to ache now I'm exhausted but DS has decided he feels sick so I'm trying to get him to goto sleep so I can crawl into bed and get a few hours sleep before DH comes home from work and wakes me up again!

kkl1 · 03/08/2019 01:01

Hey everyone seems we're all ina bit of a pickle poor us haha it's 1 in the morning an I still Carnt sleep got terrible pains tonight can barley move so Carnt get comfy I feel awful and sorry for my other 2 children as it's half term an Carnt do much with with

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 05/08/2019 22:44

Joining the everything aches club... I actually feel as though someone has kicked the last few vertebrae of my spine out of place. Ridiculously painful.

DP had a couple of beers last night and fell asleep on the sofa without giving me the back rub he'd promised me faithfully, leaving me unable to sleep or get comfortable until 3am. I sulked and gave him dirty looks all morning and left the laptop open with tabs about pregnancy massage up until he cottoned on and gave me the massage.

Anyone else finding it increasingly hard to roll over in the night? Keep getting stuck on my back like a big turtle.

JoJoSaysHello · 05/08/2019 22:52

Currently trying to get comfortable in bed, feeling like an overgrown turtle battling with an overgrown pregnancy pillow!! When did this bump get so big & hard to manoeuvre?? Not long now until shoelaces are going to have to be a thing of the past...

On the plus side, I'm quite enjoying pregnancy outfits that show of my bump for what it is now (rather than just looking like I had a big lunch!)

PyjamasForever · 06/08/2019 19:24

Everyone keeps saying "you must be about to pop" and then being shocked when I say I have 3 months to go. The next person to ask if I'm sure it's not twins is really at risk of my head exploding.

Also so achy. I've been struggling to turn over in bed for a while now. Last night I gave up at midnight and slept propped up on the sofa because of my heartburn.

I've just finished section 1 of the Positive Birth Company's digital pack - if I wasn't so sleepy I'd keep watching because I really feel like it's going to improve things for me! Any one else watching/finished it yet?

Zarara · 06/08/2019 22:26

I’ve been really aching especially my hips i do wonder how I’m going to cope at the end and I feel massive this time around.

I’ve downloaded the positive birth company pack but actually haven’t used it yet, but you’ve just reminded me that I need to start!

Has anyone had their 28week midwife appointment yet? What does it entail? Mines next week.

PyjamasForever · 07/08/2019 07:27

@Zarara I don't have my 28 week appointment for a fortnight but the midwife told me last time that they'll do the usual urine and blood pressure, listen to the heartbeat, measure bump and plot on chart and then do some bloods for antibodies and anaemia.

dottydally · 07/08/2019 09:01

@JoJoSaysHello I am only just at the beginning too but I love the positive birth company's videos. I like the fact she explains how it all works and so I don't feel like it's too wishy washy! Do you have the book?

HeartvsHead · 07/08/2019 09:03

@Zarara as above. Think pretty much every appointment now is urine, blood pressure, bump measure, heartbeat and position check. Will also ask if you have had your whooping cough vaccine. They will then chat to you about plans for birth etc at various points. I went for my blood test yesterday as in my area it is done ahead of the 28week appointment so results can be discussed.

I'm really starting to feel I can't do as much with my toddler now which is sad. She's being good about it and keeps giving baby cuddles but mum guilt!

PrayingandHoping · 07/08/2019 10:15

You will also have you Anti D jab at your 28 weeks appointment if your blood type is negative

Farmmum7 · 07/08/2019 10:49

I bought some lavender Epsom salt bath pack yesterday and decided to try it. It honestly did wonders I don't know if it was the salts or just the bath but I didn't have to limp when I got up in the night to pee and so far today my hip is ok.

May have had a slight run in with a sheep the other day it managed to dive at the gate I was holding crushing my arm between the gate and the concrete wall I'm all bruised and swollen now. I think it's time to take it a little easier!

JoJoSaysHello · 07/08/2019 17:05

@dottydally No I don't have the book - do you?

BobbySD345 · 07/08/2019 21:14

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil LOL a turtle I literally feel the same. Hubby wakes me up if he notices I am on my back and to then get on my side is such an effort! So unflattering rolling around like a big lump too.
I also feel in the mornings when I wake up like I've gone 5 rounds with Mike Tyson. I feel so bruised and achey!

BobbySD345 · 07/08/2019 21:15

@Farmmum7 I got some Epsom salts a couple of weeks back and I also think they work wonders. The temperature of the bath isnt as satisfying though ❄❄❄

blizzard88 · 07/08/2019 22:30

@dottydally I've got the book - if it worth getting the videos too?

dottydally · 08/08/2019 08:45

@JoJoSaysHello I do have the book, I really enjoyed it.

@blizzard88 I'm only a few videos in but I think it's worth it. I think it's slightly more relaxing to be able to watch/listen but I also like having the book to refer to. You also get access to their Facebook group which has some lovely positive stories.

If you're not sure, you can find some of Siobhan's Q&A's on YouTube. It's different to the content of the digital pack but might give you an idea of whether you like listening to her/think the style would be helpful for you.

(Hopefully the link works! The content of the Q&A is interesting too!)

Mintypea5 · 08/08/2019 10:42

On holiday and my PGP is so painful! I was almost screaming last night trying to move in bed. My arm hurt too so I just couldn't get comfortable.

Feel like I'm dragging them all down as DH and DS1 are doing loads of activities and I just need to sit

PyjamasForever · 08/08/2019 15:14

You poor thing @Mintypea5, it's bad enough feeling miserable at home, but worse on holiday. I'm sure your DH and DS will cope doing things together. Can you just take the time to relax? I find swimming helps.

LittleAndOften · 08/08/2019 16:28

@Mintypea5 that sounds rotten you poor thing 🙁 I'm getting chronic fanny daggers if I walk too far. The support belt has really helped my abdominal pain but it doesn't help the whole groin-type area much. Ditto at night time, attached a real life picture of me this morning!! Grin

HeartvsHead · 09/08/2019 19:25

Gosh hope you are all feeling a bit better. I hadn't realised how common PGP was.

Anyone with toddlers got any tips on how to stop them being all over you all the time? DD is 2y8month and constantly elbowing me, jumping on me etc. I'm trying to remind her to be gentle but she just forgets and I find I'm starting to brace myself for impact! Bump is so solid now it hurts!

threemonthstogo · 09/08/2019 23:17

Hello everyone! I've name changed - I was MotherofCats before. Hope everyone is feeling alright, I have been having very much the same, PGP not as bad as some it sounds though... sorry to hear that. My hospital was advertising some kind of trial for a cortisol injection, perhaps other places are offering that too?

My heartburn has really kicked in this week and struggling to get comfortable too, have had a couple of nights of very little sleep. Has anyone else been getting leg cramps?

Love the turtle pic, that's totally how I feel sometimes too ☺️

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 09/08/2019 23:45

@threemonthstogo yes! bloody leg cramps. I read somewhere that pointing your toes up, not to point your toes like a ballerina when they cramp can help. Also yes to heartburn. I'm swigging gaviscon like its going out of fashion.

@LittleAndOften you make a glorious turtle- even upside down you look dignified Grin

Can anyone believe that we all have just around three months left? I feel like I hit 20 weeks and now time is just flying by. I'm starting to worry I wont have everything ready (i'm nowhere near set) before he arrives!
