Couldn't see that anyone had started another thread after we filled up the last one, so hopefully I haven't made a double...

@LKH27 I'm the same people are telling me how small I am but for me I feel huge I'm definitely bigger than I was with the last two I had to take my belly bars our a week or two ago I remember having them in for ages with the last two!

I keep feeling almost like a ripping/tearing feeling on the top of the bump it's like a short sharp pain sometimes if I reach for something or do a big yawn is anyone else getting anything similar?

I haven't even considered clothes for afterwards! I need to get myself organised!!

Mintypea5 · 29/07/2019 09:26

@LKH27 with DS1 I didn't show at all really until about 30 weeks. Even with DS2 it wasn't until about 28 weeks? This time I'm giant

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil I brought our pram this morning!! What car do you have? We need a 7 seater now ... 3 kids in car seats won't fit in our current one

BobbySD345 · 29/07/2019 10:43

I am learning that everyone is different re bump size and it depends on what number baby you are on ! I follow a girl on Insta and she is 14 weeks with her 2nd but she looks as big as I do at 24w. Yet I have a friend also pregnant with her 1st who is 8 days behind me and barely showing.

Good shout re the buttoned down nightdresses and PJs. I might have a mooch in Primark at lunch!

I had been struggling with my bras and went to M&S yesterday. Decided to try allsorts of non wired styles and sizes and came away with a 40DD !!! I'm usually 34D ! So comfy today though thank goodness.

LittleAndOften · 29/07/2019 10:47

Morning all, just back from the mw. She's booked me in for a glucose load test at 28 weeks. They've changed the procedure so you now have to go and actually hang out at the surgery for 2 hours!! I'm not impressed. Just sorting childcare is going to be mega awkward. Sigh.

Mintypea5 · 29/07/2019 12:18

@LittleAndOften that's how mine was last year and tomorrow! Luckily kids are at Childminder's .... I'm trying to work out of its bad form to nap while I wait at the hospital Grin not looking forward to fasting from 8pm tonight until lunch tomorrow

Unsureursula · 29/07/2019 13:22

Hello all! I’m having the most bizarre experience! My MW is on hols and my appt was scheduled with a locum for 1pm. At 1.15pm he came out of his office and asked if I was in a hurry? I said, ‘well I do need to get back to work’ and he said ‘I’d like 10 minutes to eat’ I said ok, I mean I enjoy my food as much as thas next person but found it slightly unprofessional? AIBU?

dottydally · 29/07/2019 16:41

@Mintypea5 @LittleAndOften does everyone in your area have the glucose test or is it just if you have risk factors? I know I can ask at my next appointment but it seems to be very mixed here. Hanging around for 2 hours sounds like a nightmare Sad

@Unsureursula yes, that's very weird! Should have asked if he was sharing Hmm

Also ordered our pram today!

Mintypea5 · 29/07/2019 16:49

@dottydally it's not a routine test in the uk (some countries it is!) I have one for higher than 30 BMI. But you can also qualify for one if you have a family history of diabetes, being diabetic, something showing up in urine etc.

LittleAndOften · 29/07/2019 17:24

@dottydally no its because I'm ancient (40!) Blush

Unsureursula · 29/07/2019 18:16

@dottydally it did smell quite nice actually! I scoffed a Sainsbury’s sandwich afterwards Grin

Oh exciting, what did you choose? So hard to decide!

HeartvsHead · 29/07/2019 18:42

Someone ran into the back of my car today. Thankfully all just cosmetic damage to car and me, bump and toddler were all fine. Scared the he'll out of me though and can't even have wine to calm my nerves!!

@Unsureursula that does seem a bit weird. My midwife is very chatty so usually about 30mins-1hr late so I expect to wait but to deliberately make you later... guess every one needs to eat but prob would have been better to just eat then come out!

Unsureursula · 29/07/2019 20:17

@HeartvsHead oh no sorry to hear that! What an awful experience! Glad to hear you’re all ok!!
Yes my thoughts exactly! He was quite nice afterwards but all a little strange

dottydally · 30/07/2019 07:47

@Mintypea5 @LittleAndOften I'm really hoping I don't have to have it. I am awful with needles (yes, I know that doesn't bode well for childbirth!). My appointment is today so I'm sure I will find out.

ps. @LittleAndOften, you're not ancient!

@Unsureursula I'm with @HeartvsHead, I would have just kept you waiting whilst I ate lunch and maybe just said previous patients had overrun. I definitely wouldn't have asked if you minded waiting while I ate Hmm

We've ordered the Uppababy Vista. Is anyone superstitious in terms of having the pram at home before baby arrives? I'm not personally but some of our family think it's strange.

@HeartvsHead have a virtual wineWine-- shit substitute I know--

Sleepyquest · 30/07/2019 08:42

@dottydally I'm awful with needles too. Had the whooping cough jab yesterday Confused I'm due to have the glucose test too! Hope it comes back fine.

Anyone else started to feel a bit sick again? I don't know if it's the weather or the constant constipation or the fact I keep eating chocolate and crisps

Unsureursula · 30/07/2019 08:44

@dottydally
Oh fab- we found it hard to decide between that and the cam! Ultimately the vista wouldn’t fit through our front door (we live in London so everything is miniature lol)!
We were both reluctant to have it in the house, I wouldn’t say we’re overly superstitious but my family definitely are! However, JL said they couldn’t hold it as it comes directly from the manufacturer so lo and behold we have it stored in a cupboard! I would have preferred to have it somewhere else until we needed it but at the same time the specific colour we went for had went out of stock twice recently and I didn’t want to be worrying about that happening again!

@LittleAndOften you’re not old!! I’m also due to get the test in 2 weeks time as my mum had GD twice so it’s just a precaution!

Unsureursula · 30/07/2019 08:47

@Sleepyquest yes I’m not feeling great either! Constant indigestion- gaviscon double action have become my bff!!
Also really suffering with pgp- seeing a physio which is good but getting frustrated at how much it’s slowing me down!
How is everyone else doing?

Mintypea5 · 30/07/2019 09:26

@dottydally I'm not superstitious about the pram (although my nana was with DS1!) we've got ours arriving tomorrow but I'll prob build it and start using it with DS2 to save space (tandem so can be used for just one) that way I've got some time to get used to it 😁

Sat waiting for my first blood test for GTT. I'm ducking starving already! Bloody DH got caught up at work and didn't tell me he wasn't on the way home so I fed the kids thinking I'd still have time to make ya dinner after (we usually all eat together but they were having left overs from dinner the night before) so I didn't actually get a proper dinner last night just a a quick sandwich ... next blood test is 11:30 so she's to wait

I've been getting really dizzy and sick if I lay in my back for even a minute. With DS2 I don't remember it feeling like this yet. Obviously not sleeping on my back bug can't even lay down on the bed! Heartburn too Hmm

kkl1 · 30/07/2019 23:16

Hey guys can I join please I'm due on the 30th of November but I'm hoping he comes a little earlier as I suffering from spd and have 2 other children to look after an the pain is unbearable I've been signed off work already so the next 18 weeks is going to be really long hope every one is doing well

HeartvsHead · 01/08/2019 08:02

Welcome @kkl1. Sorry to hear you are suffering. Will that impact when you have to start mat leave?

I'm finding that my bump keeps getting really uncomfortable. It feels really tight as though the baby is pushing out really hard. Lasts for a little while and mainly down the right hand side. I never had Braxton hicks with my first that I noticed so could be that?

Farmmum7 · 01/08/2019 08:18

Hi @kkl1 sorry to hear it's causing you so much pain. I know it's hard to do with two kids at home specially now it's school holidays but try and put your feet up when you get the chance.

How did you get on with the tests @Mintypea5?

I didn't have Braxton Hicks before with my first two but yesterday I kept getting short sharp pains/aches low down on the left! I have to book my 24 week appointment for next week so I'll harass the Dr then I might need a double appointment to tell him about all the gross I honestly feel like I'm falling apart some days!!

Mintypea5 · 01/08/2019 11:14

@kkl1 welcome! Sorry you're having a such a tough time. I've got PGP and it's awful. Some days are ok but had a really bad flare up this week ... feeing very sorry for myself.

@Farmmum7 I think the tests went ok? They said they'd call within a day or two if it came back positive. Haven't heard anything yet ... so hoping it's all ok but I guess still rest of the day or tomorrow to go!

Feeling very very tired today 😖 on holiday next week so trying to get everything shop shape at work but it's a struggle

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 02/08/2019 00:16

@kkl1 hello!

@Mintypea5 we went with the citroen grand picasso- lovely to drive but the boot space with the both back seats up is quite small. One seat up and one down gives shedloads of space though.

@HeartvsHead that sounds Braxton Hicks-y to me. My bump goes very hard and tight as though he's shifting sides and stretching out my belly (thats the tightness feeling) but he's not and I recognise them from previous pregnancies.

Had my 24 week scan and he's still definitely a boy, but I'm a bit pissed off with the hospital. Had to wait 2 hours 45 mins to be seen, by which time it was gone 5pm and everyone was very clearly in a hurry to get home. The antenatal MH appointment I'd been promised (to discuss birth stuff) had never been made and the MW is on holiday so no one knew why this had happened. Then one MW asked for urine sample and the dr didnt take it from me. Dr asked was I supposed to see the consultant- I said yes as supposed to have swabs each month due to history of prem births- she said she couldnt find it in my file and wasnt going to do them (I know its in there as being poked in the foof with a giant cotton bud is my least favourite but mandatory part of the appt) and asked me was I still supposed to be on aspirin. Then got interrupted by another doctor so ushered me out, left me by the desk and came back, not to direct me to the consultant but to leave a note on my file on the receptionists desk as she had gone home, asking for an appt in four weeks.

Not bloody impressed at all. I'll have to chase it up myself and ask for someone to get in contact with me to make sure it's all booked and re. aspirin as that appt will be at 28 weeks which is when I had my last child and I have no idea if the c section they're pushing would be great if I've been on aspirin all the way up to birth. Bloody hospital. Grrr.

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil nothing like making you feel cared for a listened to hey! I hope you manage to get some answers soon. Can you get hold of your regular midwife when she's back?

I'm really struggling to sleep on my side... find my arm goes dead really quickly so keep ending up on my back which despite the size of my bump is still super comfy! Think I need to bring a few more pillows to bed with me. Turn my bed into a fortress!

Unsureursula · 02/08/2019 11:22

Happy Friday all!
With severe pgp and back pain I’ve succombed to the Dreamgenii pillow! It’s helping my back a bit but pelvis not so much. I’m 26 weeks and dreading the pain getting worse as I get bigger! For those of you that have had v births with pgp- did this make it worse?
I’m also hoping to buy a car, but as this is baby number one I can be more flexible in terms of size. Wish I could just buy it online though and not have the sales spiel lol
