I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

Hi everyone,

I'm sat here prodding my tummy now trying to work out if I'm bloated too. Don't think I am just yet, although I suppose I'm a few days behind some of you ladies!

Had to stop gardening this morning though as I brushed against some coriander and couldn't stop heaving!

Peachy, Did you really run away from your hospital tests? lol! I'd love to have seen that.

Scorpio, can't wait to tell our parents, going to wait until after early scan and then break the news. I'm excited for them already!

I'm also going camping this weekend! We have a campervan and so normally go away in that, but we're at a wedding (2nd of three) way down south so we're taking the car - much cheaper and quicker and sleep in our old tent. It's an outdoor wedding with fires/tents/communal food/music etc. Have splashed out on a new airbed but really we could both sleep on my enormous boobs and be comfortable enough! (although they are sore)

Daftmoo · 09/08/2007 21:52

KnitterInTheNW -Hiya, Yes I had my ds by CS, although it wasn't planned. I was induced 6 days prior to my edd because the scan showed him to be getting on for 8lbs. I ended up having an emergency CS because ds just wouldnt budge and lets face it at 10lb 6oz his only option of getting out of me was through the sunroof. How wrong was that scan eh !!!

This time they've already mentioned I will probably have to have a planned cs, which is fine by me as the emergency one was very vey scary.

Dont worry about asking me Q's, if I can help I'm happy to

Right, I'm off for an early night...camping tomorrow...helppp !!!

x

Peachy · 09/08/2007 21:57

Mine have been quite small- 5lbs 5oz (induced a few days early, IUGR due to pre-eclampsia- oh that was a fun pregnancy ), 6 lb 11oz and 7lb 4 oz- steady progression but nothing huge

scorpio1 · 10/08/2007 09:21

Really interesting to hear about birth weights/birth of previous dc's ds2 was 1lb 5oz heavier than ds1 at birth-imagine if its the same again!!

I want a home birth this time-last time i was in hospital for 19 minutes before he came out and could of done without the ambulance ride! i went into labour very fast-about 1am-he was born at 3.14am. Hospital is 40 minutes away!

Today, im only getting waves of sickness so far, not constant. i know this sounds stupid but im worried now! i actually managed to sleep last night until 6am, so maybe thats why i feel better? arrgghh im such a worrier, btw!

This weekend im seeing my df, whose birthday im due on. i want to keep this pg a secret but its so hard! How have others taken all your news of your pg? well, i hope!

How is everyone else feeling? think we should be due a few more members soon!

NoMoreHighHeels · 10/08/2007 10:43

Scorpio - you are worrying just like me! I had a better night's sleep last night as well. Anybody else having to get up in the night for the loo?

We're off for a weekend away tonight. Not camping though a hotel with a spa so packed my swimming stuff. Not feeling like I want to parade about in a costume at the moment!

If we are doing a tally of previos birth weights, my DS was 8lb 8oz and was 2 weeks late and was induced in the end.

Was thinking all this talk of big babies and maternity wear will be putting the first timers off - honestly, it really isn't that bad, if it was we wouldn't be doing it again (and again)!

Hope the sun shines for all of us this weekend

Gumbo · 10/08/2007 10:57

Yes, I'm up a couple of times a night to the loo already. I don't recall it starting so early last time, but perhaps it did.

I still feel weirdly fine. By this stage last time I was feeling pretty sick, which is a bit worrying. But my breast are so sore/big that I'm assuming there's not too much to worry about.

I'm also guessing my bump will get bigger than last time, and much sooner than before is this true? (Last time I had a fabulously small bump, which I'd be quite happy to repeat!)

Well done to all those who've had scans already! My consultant appt is on Tuesday.

scorpio1 · 10/08/2007 11:00

i get up once in the night for a wee, but a big one

Gumbo-you will get bigger! im a size eight, and my first pg no-one ould really tell. last time, i was mahooosive. looked like i had a football (or ten!) stuffed up my tshirt. will prob be bigger this time. i love it! last pg (no.2) i couldnt do my things up at 12 weeks at all. whats the betting this time?!

so am i just being silly? sickness hasnt gone totally. my boobs havent grown yet though

Gumbo · 10/08/2007 11:04

Scorpio, nooooo! Wrong answer! I wanted to hear how I'd only be out of my normal clothes 2 months before my edd like last time! S'pose I'd better go and by some maternity clothes (which I stupidly got rid of, thinking I'd definitely not be having any more children! LOL!)

scorpio1 · 10/08/2007 11:09

i've only got one pair of jeans from last time, but when i started ttc (6 months ago) i bought a few items from ebay sooooo cheap. i now have 4 pairs of jeans, a dress, tshirts and 2 vest tops.

mothercare do early term jeans that look like normal jeans, just a jersey waistband, we could wear them now if we wanted to! only £20 new, too. although, they are cut big round thighs iyswim?

Im going to order some isabella oliver things in a couple of months time

love this jumper

and this in plum

i will sell them on ebay after, i have checked, they get nearly full price back on them!

Elfsmummy · 10/08/2007 15:50

Lovely lovely scorpio. Very jealous.

DD was 6 lb 13 oz.Was induced at term + 9 due to suspected IUGR (6lb 13 oz - WTF??)

I had the most beautiful tiny baby bump (I suspect due to fairly stressful job, running around all day until I stopped at 32 weeks.

Since having her I've become a SAHM and put on 1.5 stone!

Last time (Concieved at the same time in 2005) I was still in normal clothes on New years Eve. This time, my already tight trousers are too tight!

Ho hum hopefully if this pregnancy is going to be different I won't be so horribly sick.

Still no symptoms in this house!

Hope you're all well today

ejbax · 10/08/2007 16:55

I am the same - feeling distraught that favourite size 27 jeans are already very snug ! But think it might be excess food and v. limited exercise in the past few weeks rather than baby, unless I am growing him/her on my hips and thighs as well!

Was hoping to be able to put off getting into my maternity wear for as long as possible this time... but think it will definitely be sooner rather than later!

Also as I have only returned from mat leave a month ago, it is going to be much tough hiding the next pregnancy from work for another couple of months...

Best go as DD is helping me type this and keeps pressing CAPS on. Hope everyone has a great weekend. We live in Edinburgh so are having a busy festival weekend with friends up from London. More people to hide the news from!

Peachy · 10/08/2007 17:06

IWtrh ds1 I could still do up coat the day I delivered and I left hospital back in my PG skirt- MW got all the other staff to come look! (DS1 - 5lb 5oz, IUGR)

No chance with the ones after- sorry if spoiling any illusions PMSL!

Went over to mothercare with dh today (only ahd 1 child and we're going to have to get a new buggy, a Loola probably I think) and they have some OK clothes. ocmpared to last time, the choice is vast- at least you can semi-attractive maternity bras now!!!

V1KK1M · 10/08/2007 18:29

Hi Peachy, Just to let you know that I brought Bebe Confort Loola off e-bay (excellent condition - hardly used) for £90 and the creatis car seat all in cream. I know I was being really early but thought it was such a bargain I couldn't help myself - Fingers crossed all goes OK.

I paniced this am as I woke up and my boobs didn't hurt at all - I should have just enjoyed it as about an hour later they were sore again.

Sickness seams to have eased up here, although still having stomach cramps - trying not to worry unless theres blood but it's awlays easier said than done.

Bring on the scan in three week:0

Peachy · 10/08/2007 18:33

Will get mine in sales LOL, but like to know what i am after.

Could the cramps be something else completely different-m a bug maybe? Sometimes its hard to tell between tummy and more worrrying symptoms

V1KK1M · 10/08/2007 20:14

Cramps are probably stress if I'm totally honest. I've just got to learn to chill!

I'm trying to eat a healthy diet at the mo to see if that elps - it could be a touch of IBS?!?!

modsaluk · 10/08/2007 20:15

Hello everyone.

Hope you are all well and ok.

I am 7 + 4 and i have still had no morning sickness, boobs do feel tender and i am still getting those cramp type pains but not as many now.

How is everyone else feeling ?

ejbax · 10/08/2007 20:29

Hey Modsaluk

I am due on the same day as you, but am only 6 + 4 I think... have I calculated my dates wrong .

Would love to be another week along! So am hoping I am wrong...

Glad to hear the cramps are easing, I had some tonight as well.

modsaluk · 10/08/2007 20:38

Think i am wishful thinking lol.

Just can not wait for scan, also feel as though nothing much if fitting properly me already, is everyone else finding this?

KnitterInTheNW · 10/08/2007 21:35

Definately feel like not much is fitting now, only my biggest size cropped trousers and a couple of pairs of long trousers are comfy enough to wear. I bought some vest tops in the fat face sale today cos they've got wide straps and will hide the straps of my matronly maternity bras. The baby's not even half a cm big yet and already it's costing me a fortune!
I'm 5+3 and have massive sore boobs and I'm very tired, but no sickness as yet (I'm very grateful!) and I've got a massive painful spot on my chin. Very attractive.

Doingitallagain · 10/08/2007 22:09

I'm getting loads of spots too. Pleased it's not just me! I'm just feeling generally crap a lot of the time. Sicky and headachey and dizzy and rubbish. Last time I remember spending most of the first 3 months curled up in a ball in bed (when I wasn't at work), cos my tummy just hurt sooo much. Not been as bad so far, but plenty of time yet for it to start I guess. And the mw wasn't at all interested really when I told her, just said pg can cause lots of symptoms and not to worry. Don't know if that helps anyone.

Feeling fat here too, but not sure I can blame it on baby just yet. Not that it'll stop me trying .

Lunachick · 10/08/2007 22:28

Hello [wave]

I'm new here - it looks like a very busy place that will be very useful

My edd is April 15th.

Age 32
First baby
I'm from NZ, British husband.
Living in Herts.

Symptoms fairly minor so far. I have a Natal hypnotherapy CD for overcoming m/s and so far it's helped.

KnitterInTheNW · 10/08/2007 22:36

Hi Lunachick, April 15th is a very good day to be born, that's my birthday!

Lunachick · 10/08/2007 22:57

Cool

Rainbowdays · 11/08/2007 07:57

Morning all, I keep waking up early and not being able to get back to sleep, so annoying, but it means I get on the computer to come chat with you all. My tummy staying bloated all day now, so I will have to start shopping soon for new maternity trousers.

Yesterday peps here were chatting about babies getting heavier with each pg, am I the only one who got a lighter baby the second time around??? ds was 7lb's 11 arrived 3 days early, whereas dd was only 7lbs 3 but she did arrive 10 days early. So who knows what will happen this time!!!

Scorpio - I am planning a homebirth this time too. Even though it is early I have already contacted an independant midwife and really excited about not having to face hospital rules and regulations this time. I had wanted ds to be a homebirth too, but the midwife I got sent was useless, and being a first-timer I did not know what to do, so after 24hours of contractions was exhausted and requested to go to the hospital for an epidural. With dd I was already in hospital as I thought I was in labour 3 days before she arrived and because I live an hour away from the hospital they just decided to keep me in!!! But it was so fast in the end that dh almost missed the birth!!!!

Hi and welcome lunachick, fleecy and anyone else that I have missed.

Daftmoo - hope you are enjoying the camping!!!

Hope everyone has a good day, to those with no symptoms - hope you are able to enjoy and not worry too much, and to those who are already suffering I hope you have a little less today to ease the day!!!!
