I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

My GP seemed OK about a homebirth, so fingers crossed. Dh could well be caring for the boys (he'll head to mums, bt its a 2 hour round trip, plus 30 mintes minimum if he's in work, and with a 4th baby that could be all it tkaes), and if i'm without him I desperately don't want to be in hospital unless its life or eath.

Dreamed about the abby alst night, I've only ever done that once before- it was a girl though which I really don't beleive LOL (Dh thinks it is, has done since day 1) as there has been a run of 6 boys in our family and after 3 boys myself its unlikely that i'll have a girl now.

scorpio1 · 11/08/2007 12:57

its unlikely mine will be a girl either-we have 3 boys too. im still tryin to adjust to the fact im pg wanted it for ages, so now its a bit of a shock that i am!

dddddp has taken ds2 out for the afternoon, so im home alone. cue repeat corrie and the sofa, me thinks.

went to the supermarket this morning-omg the fish counter nearly had me!

Last time my GP tried to get me to have a homebirth-there are alot in my area, they encourage it. so mine will be no prob.

Im 5+1 today

Hi Lunachick,

I live in Herts too! And itis oalso my B'day onthe 15th April so I if I am overdue I could have an extra special birthday present.

I know Herts is a big place but what hospital are you going to choose? I have a choice between the Queen Elizabeth in Welwyn or Princess Alexandra in Harlow - not sure which one to pick?!?!

littleoldme · 11/08/2007 22:17

Hello Ladies. Scuse the crash - I'm on the Nov 07 thread. Some people in our lot swear by 'preggiepops' on this site to help with sickness. Also, if you get a book called Birth and Beyond by Yeudhi Gordon there's some excellent info on homeopathic remedies which my sister swore by. Hope it is helpful. Lots of luck

Sara74 · 12/08/2007 13:05

Hello everyone, have just read down a bit and am sooo glad you're mostly bloated too!! DH gives me funny looks when i unzip jeans in the evenings and tried to link it to the yorkie i had just eaten!!
How hard is it to arrange a home birth for first babies? at the moment i think i would like to be here and all calm, but am openminded. or am i mad to be thinking of it??

Peachy · 12/08/2007 15:25

Have a look at the home birth website 9will find a link), they cover first timers.

Was actually sick today whilst we were out for lunch 9fortunately had warning). Dh was snoring alst night so I had little sleep, definitely seems to tie in to tiredness ime.

Been talking generally to ds3 about abbies, he completely blanks those he knows at the CM. No joy there LOL!

I had a homebirth with DD last September - she was my first but the midwife was fine for me to have a homebirth because I hadn't had any complications.

I'd definitely recommend it. No hanging around at the hospital, you can eat and drink what you like when you like etc. The midwives were great. They bought plenty of gas and air with them, cleaned up our bedroom and made up a fresh bed for us afterwards, ran me a bath, disposed of all the yucky bits and so on!

DH said he really liked it because he got to play on the PS2 for most of the day while my contractions weren't too bad! He said he would have been bored in hospital - not being mean, just honest I think! And I was happy because I was nervous and it was nice being on home ground.

Did anyone else have pelvic pain/SPD in any previous pregnancies? I had it last time but the pain didn't start until I was five months. This time, I've had twinges already - is this normal? I've not heard of it starting this early and I'm a bit worried because I can't just put my legs up and rest this time with DD1 to look after!

Peachy · 12/08/2007 18:53

Ihad SPD with ds3, not too abd- just ahd to wear a support thing- but enough. HAd a few twinges early on this time and thought oh no, but think that was just the hormones relaxing my muscles as stopped as soona s it started.

Fleecy · 12/08/2007 19:08

Fingers crossed it'll go away then! I'm being careful to keep my knees together (not used to being so ladylike!) and my hips level just in case but I don't want to give up high heels just yet!

Piccalilli2 · 13/08/2007 07:36

Hi, can I join you? I think I'm due on 11 April, only 5+1 at the moment so very early days and I miscarried before dd (nearly 2) so very nervous. I'm not feeling very sick, just queasy when I don't eat but I'm feeling knackered AND I've got spots which is not a good look on a 32 yr old.

Rainbowdays · 13/08/2007 08:44

Piccalilli2 - Hi and welcome. Great to have you here.

Fleecy - wow, I am so jealous of you having a homebirth with your first. I wish I had had a different midwife as I am sure that things would have gone very differently with my first and would have had the planned homebirth rather than the transfer to hospital. I take it that you will be planning a homebirth again? If only so that dh can have his PS2 again!!!!

I have really bad back ache at the moment, I went to the oesteopath last week and it had helped a little, but think I need to go back again.

Uni doesn't start back until october so i've set myself the task of turning the house upside down and clearing out all the cr*p! I have been given a 3 piece cream leather suite so having to manouvere everything to fit it in! xxx

scorpio1 · 13/08/2007 09:34

Hi

So so so tired! anyone else?

I went on a boat trip on Saturday night. never again! i felt so sick, bleurgh. Have mostly had a quiet weekend-DP has been busy fight training and i had a sleep yesterday afternoon . What did everyone else do?

We have still kept it a secret-its nice Said to df yeasterday that i didnt want a beer because i had too much last night!

Im not too sure of my EDD-some sites are syaing different things. My LMP was 6 July.anyone?

Hope everyone is well?

Fleecy · 13/08/2007 10:57

I nearly did transfer to hospital last time - I was 4cm when the midwives arrived but an hour later I decided I was in too much pain, I wanted an epidural (I'm a wuss). The midwives told the ambulance to come but not to hurry and I was ready to kill them for it - I wanted it to rush and get me to the hospital asap for my epidural - but when the ambulance arrived half an hour later, I was fully dilated and had just started pushing. So turns out I was in transition and nobody had expected me to dilate that fast!

No epidural needed after all and we had to tell the ambulance to go away again. They weren't very happy with us but at the time I really didn't care!

I think I'll probably do it at home again - is the second labour usually quicker or is that a myth?

Fleecy · 13/08/2007 11:03

Oh also, Rainbowdays, what's the worst thing about having two so close together - is it the sleepless nights or is it that the oldest one isn't quite mobile enough to be independent but is mobile enough to cause trouble?

DD will be 17/18 months when the new one comes along so not quite as close as yours but still a little scary.

Daftmoo · 13/08/2007 11:06

Hi All,

Welcome the new guys who've joined over the weekend. More the merrier !!!

Camping was good fun over the weekend, well it was just one night in the new forest We decided to go to Bath for the day on saturday and ended up staying the night in a hotel (a bed...hoorah)

I feel really spotty & swollen today and I'm sooooo tired.

Off out buying ds's school uniform this morning....boring !!

x

Peachy · 13/08/2007 11:11

student mum, have a look at the blooming awful (iirc www.hyperemesis.org uk, though a search on blooming awful finds it)- in the self help tips there are some wonderful ideas for sickness

scorpio site I looked at said 11th, however cycle length can vary that and only some sites take that into account BUT the wheels the MW use don't either! So whilst my baby will probably apepar a few days late due to a slightly longer cycle, the official date is 2nd April, iyswim?

Peachy · 13/08/2007 11:12

Going out to huy a looser outfir today LOL- cant get much on now [nlush] I fully admit to eating loads, but cant manage evening meals now mcuh, loading up at lucnh

Bath is nice, not that far from me but only ever been there once. typical, eh?

modsaluk · 13/08/2007 11:58

Gutted, i took a trip out to our local ASDA at the weekend for some maternity clothes, found them last time to be quite cheap. They dont do it anymore, does anyone know where else i can get them from without paying the earth (cheap skate i am).

scorpio1 · 13/08/2007 12:00

ebay? loads in fab condition on there!

Peachy · 13/08/2007 12:04

Dorothy Perkins not too bad, or H & M.

Bought a fab going out dress for a wedding at 36 weeks with ds3, trying to lacte it - lent it to sister- she GAVE it to a friend who sold it

V1KK1M · 13/08/2007 13:10

Hi All,

Glad to hear you are all OK.

Thought I'd let you know I'm off for a scan today at 3:45. Had a rough weekend feeling out of sorts, then had slight bleed yesterday with niggly little pains. The Dr. thinks I may have an infection and just waiting for the test results to come back , although the blood results came back normal

Anyway I'll keep you posted on how I get on and fingers crossed they find a heart beat (I'm 6+4 today).
