I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

Hi DaftMoo. Good luck today.

With my DD I took 3 tests just to be sure, and even though they were all positive I was convinced that when I went for my dating scan at 13 weeks there would be nothing there!

My best friend was exactly the same. I don't think you'll believe it until you see it! Fingers crossed that will be today?

scorpio1 · 08/08/2007 11:52

Just made Doc's appt for next tuesday, should be 5+4 then. thats ok, isn't it? i forget when i went before!

muddyboots · 08/08/2007 12:22

Yes Scorpio, had a miscarriage in December so a bit nervous. No real reason though (that I know of yet) why it should happen again. Can't help myself.

I'm terribly ashamed to confess that the early scan is because my friend arranged it for me! (I work in a hospital).

I also have an appointment with the midwife for a week later and she said she will arrange an early scan too! When I rang her the other day I started crying and couldn't get my words out, so I wouldn't be surprised if she now thinks I'm a complete fruit loop!

Let us all know how your appointment goes Daftmoo. I'll check back later.

Have sore boobs, feel a tiny bit bleugh in the afternoons and a house full of positive pregnancy tests!

CeylonSapphire · 08/08/2007 13:49

Hello, I'm coming to join you.

I've been lurking on Mumsnet for the last few days, and have finally found this thread.

I have an EDD of 4th April. Huge huge shock, as only just married, and it's a honeymoon pg! We weren't planning to even start trying until September!

Nausea is crippling, whilst the boobs have already gone up a cupsize! Yikes!

V1KK1M · 08/08/2007 14:14

HELP!!!!!!!! I am having agonising cramps - I mean really bad. Not blood or anything just doubling over. Anyone else had this?!?! Any suggestions to help them go away?

scorpio1 · 08/08/2007 14:15

cramps can be normal. no blood is a v good sign. have a lie down maybe?

Peachy · 08/08/2007 15:10

hey ceylon- you know what they say early severe morning sickness more likely with twins

CeylonSapphire · 08/08/2007 15:56

Hi Peachy - thanks for those lovely words of wisdom! Not sure whether I could handle twins - I'm a complete first timer, and it's daunting enough as it is!

Peachy · 08/08/2007 16:08

Yes of course you could!

It is unlikley, although when I had really bad (and I mean bad enough to e admitted to hospital) MS with ds1 they did check on a scan for multiples

Its also supposed to be a good sign in terms of stability of pg so its good (even if it doesnt feel it)

V1KK1M · 08/08/2007 16:27

Hi Scorpio,

Thanks for your message. Feeling much better now - hope it doesn't happen again it scarred me!

Half of me just thinks I'm worrying over nothing. I hope the next 6 weeks go quickly!

Thanks again

studentmum1 · 08/08/2007 17:42

hiya guys... not been on in ages as i didn't want to get my hopes up if my scan came back with nothing. I went for my scan this morning and i was a nervous wreck, they had a student prodding and poking me with the internal scanner... brilliantly he couldn't even find my uterus!!!
After the other sonographer took over they found my teeny tiny little baby and its teeny tiny heartbeat!! i'm dated as 6 weeks and 4 days and i could not control the crying with relief after she showed me the little fluttering on the screen!

Doingitallagain · 08/08/2007 19:19

That's brill news studentmum. How fantastic to have seen babe already. I'm jealous ! Rainbowdays, I'm pleased you feel better too after your scan - at least you can both relax a bit now maybe? Daftmoo, how did your appt go today? Did you have a scan?

Sorry I've not been on for a while - it has just been manic at home. I am never having a party at home again! But all went well in the end. Congratulations to all the newcomers, there's lots of us on here now to go through it together. I read with interest what ejbax said about lack of sore boobs cos of having just finished breastfeeding when conceived. And although mine are a bit sore, they are nothing like as much as normal when first pregnant, but seeing as I only finished breastfeeding a couple of months ago, maybe that explains it? I was starting to worry a bit over that, but not too much seeing as the m/s seems to have kicked in now .

I'll have 15 months between my youngest two, Rainbowdays, so it's nice to hear from someone who's survived it . I've heard the first 6 months are hell then it's plain sailing. Or so I'm trying to convince myself!! Right, babe is in bed, and pizza is calling. Hope everyone's having a good evening. xx

flashfinn · 08/08/2007 19:32

congrats everyone DS3 arrived on 16 April this year - good luck

ejbax · 08/08/2007 19:41

Hi everyone

Studentmum - Big Congrats on the scan, as I am due on the same day as you, I was excited hearing your news and thinking about what is (hopefully!) going on inside me too!

Doingitallagain - relieved to hear that your boobs aren't that sore either, I have definitely put it down to giving dd her last fed a few days after I got pg... I keep prodding them hoping they will get sore -- twisted aren't I!?!

Felt a bit more sick and tired today & stomach is definitely bloated... so taking those symptoms as good signs.

Hope everyone else is going well.

Daftmoo · 08/08/2007 21:29

Hi All,

Had my hospital appt, it went without hitch but I still didnt leave the hospital feeling pregnant (now tempted to do another test, just in case) because I didnt get a scan...just a good talking to by the diabetes specialist nurse about everything I know already...hey ho !

I have been told I get to have a nuchal fold scan this time round because I'm old (yep,33 next week )apart from that I need to go and make an appt to see my gp so I can get on the community midwife's books.

I have to go back to hospital next week....and I'd imagine every two weeks from now ....lots of tedious appts for the next 8 months ahead, all worth it in the end though...that's if the hospital carpark fees dont bankrupt me

Gawd, my boobs dont half ache tonight

I bought a pregnancy magazine today, I felt like a dirty old man buying it...trying to pay without anyone seeing and sneaking out of the shop so I could go and enjoy reading it in the privacy of the carpark.

hope you've all had a good day

x

KnitterInTheNW · 08/08/2007 21:44

Daftmoo, are you diabetic? Me too... type 1 since age 3 & I'm 32 now. Pregnancy has done odd things to my blood sugar!

KnitterInTheNW · 08/08/2007 21:47

Duh... Just read your post earlier properly and I see you are!
I'm on the urgent referral list for the hospital, should hear by next week when I have to go.
Diabetes just complicates everything, doesn't it?

Elfsmummy · 08/08/2007 21:52

Shame about the lack of scan Daftmoo.
Did they say when you should have your nuchal fold scan? I can't remember when they do it. Does that mean you'll get it on the NHS?

I think I'm going to go for one privately. With my DD I was 25 and just went ahead with the standard triple test at 16 weeks without really thinking because I didn't think that at my age it would be high. Anyway it came back with a 1 in 20 Downs risk. In short the outcome of it all was fine but its made me think more about my decisions for this pregnancy

No chance I'll get it on the NHS though so will have to find somewhere private.

Anyhow I hope you're all well. Still no symptoms at all in this household so clinging to these precious days because my 1st trimester was hell last time around

Peachy · 08/08/2007 21:53

Doingitall- 13.5 months between ds1 and ds2. fiest six months were easy, tbh. got a swing to keep baby occupied so I can have one on one time with ds1, and can't say I remember any real problems. OWuldn't worry too much about it!

Wonder if i'll get offered a nuchal scan? {34). Definiely refusing blood / amnio, after last time round it came back high risk and then worried us for rest of pg (didnt want amnio), I think having other disabled kids (albeit not testable) makes a difference.

No doubt I shall get into even more grief for refusing a nuchal now, as well.

scorpio1 · 09/08/2007 08:20

Hi

we told our parents last night, and got really happy positive replies, yay!

Glad all those with appts and scans are feeling better I'm going to the doctors on Tuesday, will report back.

I have a stinking cold and sinisitis i think, arrggh. just what i need, me home alone with dc's too

Hope everyone ok. im 12 weeks around dp's birthday i discovered last night-scan should be around then too!

4+6 today

Elfsmummy · 09/08/2007 08:29

Peachy, I think that anyone who gives you any grief over your choice of fetal screening deserves one of your mums famous "sod off"s.

Don't think that we're going to tell anyone for a while. Unless I get too sick again and need the help. I remember the first trimester passing so slowly last time and I was so fed up of people talking about it! Just call me a miserable old goat!

PippiLangstrump · 09/08/2007 08:38

'morning...

I agree of first tri being slow and boring. I am dreading constipation more than anything in the worl, even labour was a doddle compared. any tips?

cannot wait to go to GP tomorrow, it'll make it more real.

DH in a panic as house needs to be refurbished asap now!

scorpio1 · 09/08/2007 08:46

Pippi-just lots of fruit and veg and i think weetabix is good for that too, obv prune juice!

We are not telling anyone else either, just had to tell parents because im out with them on the weekend and they were talking about a free bar at this do....they would have guessed a mile off!

Not telling anyone else if i can help it for another 8 weeks.

What is everyone else saying if you get directly asked??

Peachy-its up to you, and a 'sod off' is a good answer! we all feel differently about this; of course you dont have to!

Daftmoo · 09/08/2007 09:47

Morning Girlies !!!!

KnitterInTheNW - Yes, I've been type I diabetic since the age of 9 and I'm 32 aswell (not for long tho, 33 v soon) diabetes makes everything more complicated and doesnt make being pregnant easy at all, my blood sugars are all over the place first thing in the morning atm but tend to even out during the day, I've had some BAD hypos (low blood sugars) already, like nothing I've experienced before with no warning, which is really rare for me. It's good to have someone on here that knows what I'm going through as well

Elfsmummy -I think I'll get the nuchal fold scan at 12 weeks, but they didnt talk about it in full. It's deffo on the NHS though, apparently the hospital where I live (Hampshire) always offer it to every mum aged 32 and over free of charge, suits me

Scorpio1 - hope you feel better soon, sinusitis is soooo painful. If anyone asks me if i'm pregnant face to face I think I'd tell them, my face would so give it away so not much point trying to deny it.

Think I must be mad, dp has just rang up and suggested that we should go camping tomorrow night and I agreed, I'm normally a hotel kinda gal...think I'm loosing those precious pre-pregnancy braincells already.

I'm off into town today with ds...I need to buy myself big knickers already....oh the shame !!

hope you all have a great day

x

Peachy · 09/08/2007 10:10

Morning guys

feeling really queasy today- Dh on day off thankfulyl so did Cm run this morning, and Mum has had the other 2 for their annual week with her so its quiet! Hurrah!

Thanks for the support over the screening, each to their own and i understand totally why someone would choose to have it- in our situation though, with 2 kids already registered disabled, it would seem weird iyswim. besides, there's a 1 /20 chance of baby being asd- so I'm not going to be half as phased by a 1/72 chance of Downs as the MW would be sure to be (as was alst time anyway)!!!!!!

GP appointment today
