I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

NoMoreHighHeels - my ds will be 8 nearly 9 by the time this one is due. I know my parents are going to be mortified and full of sarky comments so my dp has decided that he's going to tell them the happy news (he's twisted like that ) I had really bad PND with ds and I cant be doing with negative comments although I'm sure my parents wont worry about this.

Dp and I are happy and I'm sure my ds will be too...that's all that matters really

scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 18:00

my dcs will be (still) 5 and 3 when this one is born. my dss will be 6.

i too got pnd both times before, but in a previous ttc appt, they reassured me i will be getting more check-ups to monitor it.

Peachy · 07/08/2007 18:02

Mine'll be 8, 7 and 4

To refer to the post further down

use the quote from my eternally patient and polite Mother

'sod off!'

Daftmoo · 07/08/2007 18:03

lol.... I think 'sod off' will work a treat

Peachy · 07/08/2007 18:04

(of course should be done in a proper somerset accent- ah be you telling em to gert'un soard off int yer)

Cor Mum'd throttle me if she saw this!

scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 18:05

or something like

'well we just cant help having sex so much'

or

'oh, so thats how it happens? i never knew'

i may favour the whose life is it anyway approach

Daftmoo · 07/08/2007 18:09

I now have the overwhelming urge to say 'get orrf my laaand' infact I might add that after I'd told them to 'soard off'

Rainbowdays · 07/08/2007 18:09

Wow I go into hospital for a couple of days and our numbers almost double!!!!

And it looks like my beta HCG numbers have doubled too. I landed in hospital with severe back pain and right-sided stomach pain, so they suspected an ectopic. But fortunately (although still do not know what caused the back pain) it has been confirmed by a scan that the sac is in the right place, so very encouraged. I have also been booked a scan for 3 weeks time to check the baby. Phew, it has been an big emotional rollercoaster for me. But I am still here.

Hi to all the newbies to the april group, looking forward to getting to know you soon.

Scorpio- hey and congrats so pleased to have someone I recognise from the ttc #3 board !!!!

hi RD

Rainbowdays · 07/08/2007 18:13

My ds will be 4 and my dd 3 when this one comes along. Due to being in hospital the MIL already knows, and she is not at all impressed, and made it clear that she does not think it 'sensible', but she has 4 kids so I think it is a bit of pot calling kettle black!!!!! My parents are thrilled, no worries about negative comments from them.

Hi Scorpio - well done!!!

well last time my outlaws told dp to tie a knot in it wonder what they say this time?!

thanks RD

Peachy · 07/08/2007 18:55

Dh isn't even going to tell MIL, he'll see BIl in the autumn so if I am showing (or puking) he'll knowm, otherwise its just a card announcement. She is awful though.

scorpio1 · 07/08/2007 18:56

im not sure when to tell my parents-my younger sister is giving them lots of trouble at the moment (she is 20). may leave it a week or so.

Elfsmummy · 07/08/2007 21:19

Gosh, I have no symptoms at all, I just assumed that it was too early.

You all sound so excited, am I the only person feeling really aprehensive? I can't really understand it as we'd totally planned this baby but now that I'm pregnant I feel overwhelmed. I'm not concerned about the pregnancy or the labour but about having 2!

Here's hoping the excitement comes?

xx

PippiLangstrump · 07/08/2007 21:23

elfsmummy i have no symptoms at all either yet, but it is very early isn't it.

I quite cannot believe it yet.

not panicking at all yet... but a bit apprehensive. hoping everything will go well.

DH 'knows' this one is a boy like he knew the first was a girl. will see.

I bet soon I'll start complaining about constipation and all the rest of it.

Gumbo · 07/08/2007 21:24

Elfsmummy, that's precisely how I feel! All I keep thinking about is how I'm going to cope with ds (who'll be 2.5) and a newborn. And if this one is anything like ds was, it'll want to be fed EVERY 2 hours, night and day, for the 1st 5 weeks! AAAArrgh!

Frankly, I'm pretty scared! (But mixed with being really happy, too!)

Elfsmummy · 07/08/2007 21:34

Good, good, totally normal then, DD will be 2 5 days after my EDD. At the moment I just keep thinking about how all this will affect her... never mind me and DH!

Gumbo · 07/08/2007 21:39

I know what you mean - it'll 'change' them a bit. And will they suddenly stop sleeping through/eating well/behaving decently etc because of their new sibling? All scarey stuff!

And in between, me being totally exhausted and still having to entertain him. I'm sure this feeling is relatively normal (I hope so, anyhow!)

Rainbowdays · 08/08/2007 09:50

Yep - I remember wondering how I would cope with 2 especially since I my ds was only 15 months when dd was due. I was terrified, but things worked out ok. This time I am more concerned about how I will feel going back to nappies and sleepless nights having just got to a good point with my two children. "ArrrGGGG" is how I feel most of the time, "what have I done". But then I look at my two and think they will have a great time with a another brother or sister. I love being from a family of 5 kids and don't want to keep to just two.!!! perhaps I am a little selfish wanting more?

Gumbo and Elfmummy - as reassurance, not all children react badly to the arrival of a sibling. My ds took it all in his stride, I hope your ds and dd do too.

hi

i feel very symptomy-boobs hurt loads, sicky, cant stand smells of things like polish and burnt toast [puke]

Don't worry about having 2 my ds1 was 2.4, and we bought him a present from the baby. we made little fuss of there being a new baby in the house-he actually stroked Jamie's face and said he was 'pretty'. the only problems i have ever had is they fight over toys now! Jamie slept through at 5 weeks-that helped alot. i also prepared things in advance-meals,etc. always kept a nappy/wipes in my bag. have a special box that only comes out when you are feeding baby-with new toys, crayons, paper, etc in it, they love it!

Rainbowdays-i have odd flashes of oh my goodness, what have i done this is our fourth between us . Jamie will be 3.6 when dc3 is born, so will be even easier than last time-he will be in pre-school and Reilly is full time school already.(5.2).

I am seeing my dddf today-have known her since i was about 4. im due on her birthday and want to tell her very badly-but i think we are keeping dc3 a secret for a bit just thinking of how im going to get away with not drinking when i see my other df this week! may say antibiotics for a girly problem...no-one's going to ask anymore then!

How is everyone?

muddyboots · 08/08/2007 10:27

Have just worked 3 x 12 hour shifts so haven't had chance to look in on this thread. So many new people! Congratulations everyone! Tee Hee!

Rainbowdays, really pleased you've now had a scan and are feeling reassured. Sorry it involved a hospital stay though.

This will be our first baby so I'm not expecting any negative comments!! Three children isn't too unusual though is it? I agree with the "Sod off" approach.

Still feeling very nervous about this pregnancy lasting - think my dh is getting a bit dismayed with my caution, but I don't want to get hurt again. I've got a 6 week scan arranged for a week tomorrow so might feel a bit better after that.

scorpio1 · 08/08/2007 10:29

sorry to ask muddyboots, but have you miscarried before and thats why the early scan? i hope this one sticks well I can't imagine working 3 x 12 hours shift feeling like this! im a SAHM and student, so don't work yet.

Daftmoo · 08/08/2007 10:58

Morning All !!!

I've got my first hospital appt this afternoon (early because I'm diabetic) and I've no idea whether I get to have a scan today or not, I'm excited but really nervous too....I keep thinking 'but what if I'm not pregnant' I'm still finding it really hard to believe an £8.99 test

My boobs were a bit sore last night, my tummy feels so swollen already (that cant be right, can it?) and obviously I've missed my period but I dont think I'll believe it until I see it on a screen.

Hope everyone is feeling good today

x

scorpio1 · 08/08/2007 11:02

tummy swelling is right-its your bowels reaction to pg hormones, along with water, any gained weight, etc.

Good luck for today
