I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

SMCG - please do tell me about your expereince - I'm going the Monday after you go!

splish splosh - am a 36 F normally - I go to Rigby & Peller for these bras... they've seen all sizes and are absolutelly brilliant!

Had some tummy cramps overnight - not sure if it was baby or wind!
Feeling okay-ish today - if a little irritable with the woman stomping in and out of my office.
Hope you all have a good day.
Welcome to the newcomers.

I am alternating between wanting to cry/killing everyone is sight in fits of murderous rage today
not good

amyjo · 29/08/2007 10:21

Morning all,

TLSM - My GP thinks I may have an ovarian cyst too, as I told him about a nagging ache with occasional twinges in my lower left abdomen. I was worried (and still am if I'm honest) that it might be an EP, but he didn't seem unduly worried and told me not to. I've just got to wait for a normal scan at 12 weeks unless the pain gets worse.

Had big sobbing fit last night as I felt sooooo poorly. DH got back late and woke me up which prompted another crying session. I'm so unbelieveably tired, but trying to break the habit of having a nap in the day (I'm lucky as I work part time) so that I sleep at night...didn't work last night though, I think I saw every hour! Hope everyone else is well and having a good day xx

EllieG · 29/08/2007 10:24

I heard if you have an EP that it's not a nagging pain but a horrendous big nasty pain, so I think something just a bit uncomfy is probably OK

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 29/08/2007 10:26

amyjo I was referred to the EPU as the thought it could have been an EP but thankfully not! have now read that this type of cyst happens in all pregnancys its what keeps the baby going before the placenta kicks in at about 12 weeks then the cyst shrivels up and disappears most women dont even know its there but some women have pain from it! the things you learn on the internet so only 6.5 more weeks of this pain!

amyjo · 29/08/2007 10:29

Thanks EllieG. Although I can still feel the nagging I'm not AS worried as I have been. My GP also said that EPs are accompanied by bleeding, which I haven't had any of.

I suppose it's normal to worry about the strange things that are happening to our bodies, especially if it's the first time. Now, if only I could get this pesky sickness to stop....!

amyjo · 29/08/2007 10:32

Thanks TLSM - I'd never heard of that before! It's making more sense now, especially as I used to get a pain in the exact same spot whenever I ovulated. Must be related somehow.

You're right about the internet...trouble is, sometimes you can read too much and scare yourself!

Off to work now, enjoy your days.

Wow - so many of us on this thread now!!

I can't believe how tired I feel - last night I just collapsed on the sofa and had to allow DH to fuss and cook tea!

I'm finding it quite hard to eat much - I seem so picky about what to eat, and when I do finally decide what I fancy, I go off it after about two mouthfuls. I'm veggie, and am quite worried about getting the right balance - any other veggies out there?

Peachy · 29/08/2007 12:34

Both my sisters are bveggies, one was ill (unrelated) all through but the other has a HUGE son ( very ehalthy 8lb at birth) who couldn't be doing better in any way whatsoever LOL< she's also expecting hersecond and doing fine

I am reduced to eating lettuce. Sob.

ToastAddict · 29/08/2007 12:48

Thanks Peachy

Blimey, lettuce doesn't sound like much fun - hopefully your chocolate days (to which all pregnant ladies are entitled to) will start soon

littledev · 29/08/2007 13:20

Hi, I have come to join you, my edd is 25th april, with my 3rd child, my ds is 5, and dd is 3.5. I am also one of the oldies at 38. Already i can't do my jeans up, and the sickness is just starting to kick in, oh joy!! Congrats and best wishes to all of you. XX

MrsThreads · 29/08/2007 13:29

Hi all

Hope you are all ok and not suffering with 1st trimester symptoms too much

My pains have gone in my thighs now but has been replaced by heartburn. I have bought a bottle of Gaviscon but stupidly I am putting off taking it as it tastes gross. I have actually taken a day off work today as my glands are up and feel tired and run down so decided to take a day to chill out and rest.

How are you all?

Nat 7+5
xx

EllieG · 29/08/2007 13:31

Take the gavison! It is disgusting but does work.
Plus try steering clear of spicy or acidic foods, and eating lots of nice alkaline and soothing things like milk and yoghurt.

EllieG · 29/08/2007 13:31

Oh and hello and welcome littledev

MrsThreads · 29/08/2007 13:54

I have taken the Gaviscon - 2 tsps - and I think it is working. Will take some more if I need it.

I love a nice glass of milk esp at the moment so will have some in a minute.

Thanks for egging me on . My mum has just told me off for having a naughty dessert last night when a friend came round for dinner Said that won't have helped my heartburn. Funny that is has just started.

scorpio1 · 29/08/2007 14:03

Hi all, too much to read!

Hope you have all been well, i have had a few days offline-just sort of happened that way!

I have been managing to sleep better, and getting a mini bump by the looks of it!

Midwife went well, just blood tests and booking in.

TLSM- so pleased its not an ep!!!! congrats!

Hi to new ones

how is everyone?

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 29/08/2007 14:15

Sorpio i was only wondering about an hour ago where you had gone too glad your midwife went well and your sleeping better your last post said you had had a horrid horrid day then you disappear was a little worried for you! nice to see you back!

dolly1 · 29/08/2007 14:40

Miss Threads you have totally put my mind at rest - mine was 6mm at 6+3. So yours is much bigger and your nurse was happy. Think it was my doc that was the prob and not the yolk sac!
On that note, it was the Birth Company that I went to and I did not like it and certainly won't be going back. Didn't like their off hand manner and 'there's nothing you can do but wait and see' attitude. Both Dh and I came away feeling totally unreassured and very upset. That is just my opinion and you guys must all do what you want but I noticed a few of you were considering it so I thought I'd share my experience. Found the EPU at my local NHS hosp to be much nicer when I had a scan there after mc.
Others may feel differently but I have been in a total panic for the last 24 hours because of what they told me and, according to my midwife, I should never have been told anything about the yolk sac at such an early scan. Instead of being delighted that we saw a heart beat we are now terrified that something is wrong. Not a good feeling.
All my scans from now on are at the Fetal Medicine Centre. Who I think are the best from what I've been told by a selection of midwives/docs/other mums.

Anybody else got any thoughts?
x

dolly1 · 29/08/2007 14:41

Sorry meant 'Mrs' Threads not 'Miss'

micegg · 29/08/2007 14:49

Hello all. Hope you are all well. I am sitting here feeling very tired after getting up my 2 year old 6 times last night. Yes you did read that correctly. I think its her big teeth at the back coming through. Nightmare. I am so tired. On a bright note the MS is definately not to strong now and next only 9 days left till I am 10 weeks which is a quater of the way through!yipeee

MrsThreads · 29/08/2007 15:00

Hi Dolly

Awww what a shame that you came out worried rather than overjoyed.

When is your next scan?

Nat xx

dolly1 · 29/08/2007 15:05

Next scan is in two weeks at the fetal medicine centre so really hoping everything looks ok by then. So far we have only told one friend and the doc we saw yesterday advised us not to tell anyone yet just in case it all went wrong! I mean what?! He said there was a higher chance of miscarriage and not to get to excited just yet! So you can imagine how I feel now!
You have really reassured me by saying your yolk sac was that size. Did it look like a circle within a bigger circle (gest sac)?
Argh! I hate this - want to wake up six weeks from now and go to my 12w scan!
I imagine we all feel the same!
x

scorpio1 · 29/08/2007 15:08

dolly - to hear of your 'carers' attitudes. please relax and yes, i want my 12 week scan! not too long now...

cannot believe i am 7+5 today already...i was reading somewhere that after 8 weeks your rate of m/c drops dramatically, not long for all of us now then!

i have relaxed alot more this last week, starting to get happy and excited. some of our friends know now; everyone has been happy so far.
