I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

here seems a good quality piece of research as far as I can tell from abstract alone

dolly1 · 28/08/2007 15:23

thanks for that peachy - really sweet of you.
Have decided to go to the fetal medicine clinic and have scan at 7 weeks - want a second opionion.
Hopefully they'll see things looking more normal next week.
Thanks again

Hurray hurray have just found out would be entitled to some income support if I give up work for a few months when have a baby means will be still skint but not on the breadline such a relief

lemonaid · 28/08/2007 16:23

Fetal Medicine Centre is fab, by the way. They have fantastic equipment and they are all lovely. The selection of magazines could be better if you aren't celebrity-obsessed, mind you...

Peachy · 28/08/2007 16:59

Thats good EllieG

bit at FMS- benefits of london living I guess! Did think of seeing if there was something in cardiff, but Dh vetoed- although as next appointment MW could make for me was for 11 weeks he may change his mind!

Slightly narked that MW does one morning a week, as its the morning I HAVE to be in Uni. No idea how thats going to work! Its also a bus ride away which will be fab (wonder if I can talk her into home visits, I mean- taking my 3 when they're not in school on a bus is a huge no-no)

MrsThreads · 28/08/2007 17:09

Hi Dolly

How big was the yoke? Mine was 12.4mm when they measured it at 6+0 which was nearly 2 weeks ago? The nurse was happy with the scan but we only saw a foetal flutter where the heartbeat would be and she seemed happy with that. I am going back for my 8 week scan this Friday to check development is on target and check for the heartbeat as will be more definite by 8 weeks.

I am having early scans due to previous ectopic and miscarriage and it was a huge relief to see the little bean was in the right place.

It is so nerve-wracking - have you got a midwife you can ask and put your mind at rest so you can relax abit before your next scan.

Take care
Natx
7+4

loisstella · 28/08/2007 17:09

Dolly & lemonaid - have you got good experiences with the Fetal Medical centre?
I have booked in for early scan at the Birth Company (also Harley street). Has anybody got any good or bad feedback about those guys???

ToastAddict · 28/08/2007 17:35

Hi ladies,

Can I join in the fun?
I'm 6+2 I think, edd April 20th.
Went for a scan on Friday, as I miscarried an ectopic in April, and could hardly believe it when we saw that it was in the right place And there was even the tiniest fluttering heartbeat!
After a year and a half ttc it all seems a bit unreal!

Now allowing myself to believe that this might actually happen and starting to get excited

April sounds a long way off though..

Peachy · 28/08/2007 17:37

Welcome toast addict!

I'm focussing on the end of trimester 1- not aso far off LOl (for me, September 19th).

Doingitallagain · 28/08/2007 17:54

Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello, welcome to all the new people, and that I haven't forgotten you all - I've just been feeling so ill for the past couple of weeks, even getting out of bed has been difficult. If I'm not throwing up, I'm feeling sick, having continuous tummy pains, headaches and dizziness. I've decided this is definitely the last! Also, cos I feel so much worse than last time round, I've convinced myself it's twins (really hope not seeing as I've got an 8 month old at the mo), so have booked for a private scan on Friday just to make sure it's not.
Am dreading next week when dp goes back to work (he's a teacher) and I'll actually have to GET UP on a morning!
Anyway, hope everyone else is feeling ok, and it's good to read about all the reassuring scans.
Love to all mums and babes, Karen

smcg · 28/08/2007 19:10

Hi all,
congrats to anyone who has joined since I last logged in.

Loisstella, I have also booked an early scan with the Birth Company, my friend went there last year and said they were very good. I am going next Monday so can let you know after that what they are like ... or maybe you can let me know if you have your appointment before then!

MrsThread, I also have had a few pains in my legs, no idea why.

Chat soon.

Peachy · 28/08/2007 19:14

doingitallagain, . Dh ahs ahd to go back to work today afte taking time off to look after us all (haven't kept down anything other than evening meal for quite a bit now). Don't know how I'll cope with school runs next week but won't have much of a choice! We'll survive though!

motherbird · 28/08/2007 19:16

Hello everyone. I'm new here and my edd is 28th April. Currently feeling v ropey! Feels as though I have permanent indigestion. This is my second time round -have a 2.5 month old dd. Hope everyone is feeling ok on this fine evening. Am just relaxing after a hectic day with dd - you don't get the chance to take it easy second time round! Back to work tomorrow for a rest!

lemonaid · 28/08/2007 19:37

2.5 months? Wow!

chipmonkey · 28/08/2007 19:40

Hello people, can I sign in here? Got BFP yesterday! Should be early May really but will have to have CS at 39 weeks so will in fact be April!

V1KK1M · 28/08/2007 19:47

Hi, and welcome to everyone new.

Congrats to everyone who has had thier scans, you must all be really excited.

I think I will actually start to believe I'm pregnant after my scan on saturday even though I am still getting all the symptoms I just can't wait to see a baby outline

Does anyone know how much I will see? I will be 9+5 the day of my scan.

splishsplosh · 28/08/2007 19:49

Lemonaid, thank you for the info about chocolate + happier babies as just in the middle of munching my way through box of chocolates neighbour gave me for feeding her cat.

Wore dd out at park this afternoon, and she fell asleep at 7 - tempted to go to bed myself as sooooo tired. Pesume due to preg, not feeling anything else much but mildly queasy. Worry this means something is wrong, but with 1st pregnancy didn't get sick till 2nd trimester, so comfort myself with that fact.

KnitterintheNW - thanks re bra info, but need something bit more industrial. Am 38DD when not preg, last time went up to G.

How's everyone else? And welcome all newbies

Elfsmummy · 28/08/2007 20:38

Evening all

Loads of us now, eh?

Just a quicky for all fellow Morning sickness sufferers - ACUPUNCTURE WORKS! I had it in my last pregnancy as I was being sick several times a day and after about 5 sessions it stopped, however I was 12 weeks at the time and wondered if it was due to stop anyway, this time around I started it as soon as the sickness started and I've gone from throwing up all day last Wednesday to a vomit free weekend and only the occasional bout of nausea over the past few days.

Apart from that just very very tired, having a lunch time nap with DD and managing to get through the day.

Hope you're all well

xx

shanks313 · 28/08/2007 22:06

Just correcting my date as it slipped a while back, my edd should now be the 7th (or 6th if you take into account the leap year) but I will stick with what it was originally at the moment. My last two arrived early anyway so I wonder whether I will end up with a March baby anyway!

TLSM and dolly1- yeh! It is great to hear that you both had a good scan that the baby's are where they should be. Great news.

Elfsmummy - I wish I could find a good acupuncturist where I live, good to know you are getting some relief. At the moment the toilet is my new best friend, and bowls are by my side if I can't be by the toilet.

Loisstella - I hope that you stay at nausea level and don't go up a notch too. Will my first pg with ds, I felt really sick from early on and it stayed much more than the 16 weeks, but with my pg with my dd I had a couple of wretching sessions with particular smells triggering it, but generally was ok. So as I have started the puking already I have decided this is another boy!!!! I wonder if there is any real logic in it. Perhaps I will start a new thread asking the question!

Lemonaid - great link, I normally love chocolate and I am not trying to cut down, but this baby simply does not have a sweet tooth, pickles and crackers all the way so far....!!! But perhaps having read that link, I will have to forcefeed myself the chocolate anyway !!!!

V1KK1M - I hope you enjoy your scan at the weekend. My scan yesterday at 8 weeks showed tiny little limb buds but mainly a bean with a big head, but with a week further on you will see proper limb buds (not yet arms and legs fully), but also a greater distinction between head and body (rather than bean shape!). I hth.

OK got to go puke again.... sorry

Hello. Can I join you? EDD 3rd April. It's 2 a.m. and I can't sleep so just checking out mumsnet. I remember not being able to sleep last time round but a lot later on in pregnancy.

Congratulations to all you April mums!

kiskidee · 29/08/2007 02:37

Congratulations Chippy! so this is where you've been hiding out! I have an April 05 dd which is why i clicked on this thread.

EllieG · 29/08/2007 08:40

Hey hpsaucy! Did you manage to get some kip eventually?
Mornin' to all the rest of you x

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 29/08/2007 09:08

Morning All, Had a crap night last night my back pain and the pain in my side were so much worse than usual! Reading the notes the scan lady gave me it would appear have a ovarian cyst on my left ovary and also my left ovary is 30mm by 14mm and my right is 16mm by 14mm you would have thought the lady would have said something to me! could this be why I am in so much pain on the left side? am going to go see my doctor on Friday and give him the notes and see what he says! has anyone else had any experiance of a Ovarian cyst in pregnancy i think its quite common?
