I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Am due 20th April and very excited, altho nervous at the same time as suffered 2 m/c in the past year. Going to see the gp soon to see if I can have an early scan to help put minds at rest, but feeling all the signs so thats got to be a good thing, surely...?

Oh dear sorry computer playing up

Hello everyone

I'm predicted a girl using that site - hope so, as then I can re-use all dd's baby clothes.

How's everyone feeling? I had some bleeding yesterday - not much, but it sent me into a complete panic. I'm not registered with the midwife yet so didn't really know what to do. Fingers crossed everything seems fine now but I'm not sure how I'm going to cope til the 12 week scan.

EllieG - the early scanned showed me nothing but a little white flicker on the screen which was the heartbeat.

I think being reassured is a matter of positive thinking. Even after my early scan every little niggley pain (which I have loads)I am suspecting the worse. I think I am not going to be happy until I get to 12 weeks and my belly starts to grow!

I hope evryone is all OK and not suffering too much. Look after yourselves

I had some slight bleeding/spotting 10 days ago and went to GP - he referred me to the early pregnancy unit (because I asked if he could), but there felt they didn't need to see me as I had no previous history of m/c unless it continued. All is fine now and I am 7+1 today.

But I would recommend seeing GP just in case. My GP now doesn't need to see me for my proper consultation until I am 10 weeks.

Hi, just wanted to say a quick hello and congrats to you all. I'm in work now but will read through the thread later. I'm 35 and expecting first baby on 14th April. Have the GP appointment on 4th Sept so looking forward to getting some more information. I have had no morning sickness, which I am concerned is a bad sign! I am from Dublin and although I've been here two years, I haven't need to go to the doctor and have no idea how maternity care works under the NHS! My husband doesn't want us to tell anyone yet so I can't ask friends. Anyway, looking forward to chatting to you all again soon!

I know what you mean lemonaid. I've felt under the weather now for days, and I just want to remember what it feels like to be 'well'. Lunch today has been a pint of milk and marmite crisps - yikes!

Hi scorpio - I've tried the ginger thing - a packet of ginger biscuits on my desk, plus crystallised ginger in chocolate, and it doesn't seem to work.

Anyone else with tried and tested remedies?

peppermint tea, or just peppermints.

Sea bands from Boots.

I tried sea bands last time and they didn't help much (may give them a go, though). Peppermint tea and ginget tea do help a bit (in fact, if anyone at work had their thinking head on they would realise that I'm pregnant, because I'm following the same pattern as last time of suddenly drinking gallons of ginger tea), and I have some of those Preggie Drop things on order. Ultimately I think I just have to wait it out (it lasted until 18 weeks last time, ugh!).

18 weeks mine normally goes at about 10 weeks.

is anyone else having days of bad symptoms and then days of not much?

Hey smcg - congratulations on your PG! I'm not supposed to tell anyone either but have told Mum, sister so far. Plus lady from work heard me on the phone so think cats may be out of bags.

Sympathy with the tired thing scorpio - I nearly fell asleep in the middle of a child protection conference yesterday and had to stab myself in the arm to stop eyes shutting! Looked odd especially as was being talked to at the time by this irate parent

Welcome smcg, I wouldn't worry about not having symptoms yet, as I think they really hit in week 6 - I didn't have many before then.

Scorpio - I too am having off and on days, today is not as bad as the last few.
