I am a little nervous about starting this thread as I was previously on the March 2008 thread but m/c'd. But I got my bfp this morning and although still faint it is clearly there.

Anyone else coming to nervously join me?

Best of luck V1KK1M. Hope everything goes ok for you.

We ended up telling my mum this weekend as she was visiting and I gave it away with my face at one comment! Anyway - she was thrilled and super excited! Have decided we'll tell family but only face to face so it'll take a while as we live miles from any of them!

STILL no symptoms here! Beginning to wonder!

modsaluk · 13/08/2007 13:49

Good luck for later on V1KK1M. I have had a look on ebay the prices sometimes seem to good to be true, has anyone had anything from ebay is it ok ?

I am a big lady at the best of times so not easy for me to even just get the next size, i am a size 18 anyway.

Glad we are all well.

scorpio1 · 13/08/2007 13:51

i have stuff from ebay-it really is that cheap! i have had jeans of there for less than a £10, they look brand new. t-shirts a few ££, etc. Some people do big bundles too, often designer/highstreet.

V1KK1M-Good luck let us know what they look like at this stage!

Peachy · 13/08/2007 14:51

I got a t-shirt back along for - wait for it- 54p! Brand new LOL

Ebay is great, always a first stop here

Peachy · 13/08/2007 14:52

Hope all goes well Vikk X

lemonaid · 13/08/2007 15:04

I have good news

We had a heart beat today. All you couldsee on the screen was a little flicker moving but it felt so good to see.

They showed us the tiny heart beet and the sac which will grow to be the placenta.

It was not as uncomfortable as I thought it was going to be and I think I am going to sleep better tonigt than I have since I found out I was pregnant.

I have a dating scan booked in for 20th Sept (12wks) so I am now really looking forward to that

Hope everyone else is feeling OK. I love ebay too. I have brought a few baby bits already and they were really cheap so I think it is definitely worth a good look around.

scorpio1 · 13/08/2007 17:31

Congrats!!

Rainbowdays · 13/08/2007 17:46

VK - Big congrats on seeing the heartbeating today. Big relief for you.

Scorpio - re: dates, I think that it is a little confusing as next year is a leap year, so the usual sums don't work!!!! I had my last af (m/c) on a monday 2nd July, and had got it in my brain that working 40 weeks from then is a monday therefore the 7th April, but most of the calenders put me at the 8th (due to leap year I assume!), and my doc put me as the 9th!!!! So I am confused. But since my due dates with the last two pg's were changed with the scan I am just going to wait to see what the scan says and go with that date. With ds my edd was 18th, then got moved to the 15th with the scan, but he arrived on the 12th! Dd edd was unclear due to still bfing, scan said edd was 12th, she arrived on the 2nd. So no matter what my edd is, I think I could be looking at a late march baby anyway!

Daftmoo · 13/08/2007 17:47

Awwwwww, congrats V1KK1M, that's made me smile.

I bought some maternity jeans in Dorothy Perkins earlier, I dont think they will last me all the way through as the front panel wasnt very big but all I'm longing for at the moment is an elasticated waist and they were really comfy when I tried them on.

I had my gp appt today, which went ok...it was with a locum who was really lovely and seemed really happy for me. I got my Emma's diary and was told the midwife would ring me when I'm about 10ish weeeks. Today I'm 5 weeks +4

Is anyone having any cravings yet? With ds all I wanted was roast beef but for the last 4 days or so all I've wanted to eat is melon, I've just bought 3 huge ones, they'll prob only last till weds

I'm soooooo tired...zzzzzz

x

Peachy · 13/08/2007 18:14

My MW appointment is 28th, earlier than in previous pg's- but in previous ones they came to the house, whereas I go to them now. Welsh procedures I guess!

Congrats Vikki!

Fleecy · 13/08/2007 19:00

I just had a giggle at you buying huge melons. I think I'll have some all of my own for free very soon if it's anything like last time...

Peachy · 13/08/2007 19:05

Melon = dehydration doesn't it, IIRC? (friend- I use term loosely- used to ahev this bizarre book which claimed to isolate the causes of all known cravings LOL)

Ice was supposed to mean calcium

??????

And there was me thinking it was related to me just coming off a drip for dehydration

vacaloca · 13/08/2007 21:06

Mind if I join you? I think my EDD is around 6 April. This will be my third, and if everything goes well I'm planning a hba2c (homebirth after 2 caesareans). I had some bleeding and cramps last weekend so lovely midwife sent me for a scan last Wednesday and we saw a tiny hearbeat, so I'm feeling a bit more confident now. I'm also watching out for signs of SPD. I started feeling it at 5 weeks last time! I found an excellent physio who I had to see every 2 weeks until I was 12 weeks, then strangely it got better, so I wonder if it had anything to do with the surge of hormones in the first trimester. I had it throughout the pregnancy but nowhere near as bad as the first time. [Hi Peachy and congratulations (I've the one who has your clifford readybed - finally used this weekend and DD1 loved it!)]

Peachy · 13/08/2007 21:13

Glad she liked it- always worried what poeple will thnk of things I sell LOL

And welcome to the thread

KnitterInTheNW · 14/08/2007 08:35

Ok, someone please tell me this has happened to them too, to make me feel less like a freak...

Just had a standing up bath (cos shower is out of action) and caught sight of myself in the mirror of the bathroom cabinet. Basically my left boob is even more massive than the right one, we're talking a good half an inch 'longer' where my boobs finish hanging on my body (nice), if that makes sense. Cupping them in my hands there's a massive difference too, left one is bigger, fuller, heavier, everything!! Pregnancy really does do odd things doesn't it?!

studentmum1 · 14/08/2007 10:14

everyones buying maternity already?! i look no diffferent!! really hoping for big bump this time around... with dd i was still in my topshop size 10's at full term!!

ejbax · 14/08/2007 10:55

Unfortunately I am definitely bigger around the waist already - couldn't do up my work trousers yesterday so am in an elasticated waist skirt today - how am I going to hide it for another 5 weeks +! as I only returned to work from mat leave 2 months ago

I am also so over feeling sick and v. tired! Went to bed at 9 pm last night and still needed another sleep at 8 am this morning while dd was having her morning nap! + had friends staying for the weekend and was sooo tired + dh ordered me a lime and soda when we were all out on Saturday night, and friends kept suggesting he add vodka to it -- so they were definited on to it by the end of the weekend, but too polite to ask.

KnitterintheNW - can't relate to the boobs as mine are smaller than they were due to stopping b/f. Well maybe just with your smaller one

Congrats to those who have had scans already - very envious at the same time

Peachy · 14/08/2007 11:44

I'm actually shrinking in places, as I knew I would when my appetite disappeared! In my first pg, I lost a few stone in the first trimester, at 37 weeks I gained 1.5 stone in one night (!) through water retention (pre eclampsia) and then I was at my usual weight- i'm nothing like as bad though this time fortuantely.

Didn't buy any maternity clothes, bought a decent non-underwired sports ra in tesco for a fiver, along with a loose smock top and loose waisted trousers. That'll do for the time being LOL- a few things coming from ebay but they'll probably hang on a few months yet

scorpio1 · 14/08/2007 12:17

Doctors went well today, EDD April 12 apparently .

have booking in with midwdife appt next wednesday-and bloods taken too. i dont do very well with that!

How is everyone feeling? my boobs have not even grown yet . they are very small so i cannot wait!

soph28 · 14/08/2007 12:58

WOW, can't there are loads of us already!! Can I join, please? Got my BFP yesterday. I already have Toby who is 2.4 and Chloe who is almost 13mths. I have been putting off TTC because I do want another baby but I don't want to be pregnant again IFYSWIM!!! No symptoms so far. I hope I don't need maternity clothes for ages as I haven't lost my baby weight from the last 2 .

I think my edd is 17th April.

scorpio1 · 14/08/2007 13:00

Hi Soph28-love the name Toby, a contender for this one!

Hello everyone! Not much new here -- I have appointments through for booking-in on 20 September and nuchal scan on 24 September, and am trying to resist the temptation to pay for a private scan in the meantime (actually, I suspect I will crumble on that one, but I'm trying to wait until 9 weeks at least).

ejbax · 14/08/2007 14:17

Likewise Soph - Chloe is definitely a contender for us.

Great to have you on board

CeylonSapphire · 14/08/2007 15:08

Hello Girls. Hope you're all keeping well. So exciting to hear from those that have already been for scans. This is the first time for me, so it's all very new and i'm not sure what to expect when.

The tiredness has hit me like a brick wall in the last 24hrs - and I do wonder how I'm going to get through the day. However, I have found the wonders of fox's glacier fruits, which seem to help the nausea/morning sickness!

I'm having a bit of a tussle with my local hospital. I don't know what the exact procedure was/is for getting to see a midwife, and my Dr has sent me down the root of a 'choose and book' appt system with Kingston Hospital. Except that Kingston H doesn't do this for their maternity ward. So, I'm now getting letters from the NHS telling me that I haven't booked my appt, and that I should do so, whilst at the same time I'm ringing them up saying I'm trying to, and would love to, but they aren't allowing me to.

Anyone else in the same boat?
