Thinking of you @twittlebee Flowers really glad everything looks good with baby, hoping it continues and you don’t meet for a few weeks yet!

happytobemrsg · 27/06/2019 08:23

Thinking of you Twittle!

RonaldWeasley · 27/06/2019 08:31

So sorry you're in the hospital and that things have been so tough for you @TwittleBee. Great that the doctors are feeling positive, hope you're being well looked after Flowers

KnobJockey · 27/06/2019 08:37

Bloody hell @TwittleBee! How are you feeling? Are you are going to have to stay in for the duration, or will they let you home?

You might not want to say whereabouts you live, but I'm near Hull, if that's close to you and you need some help with lifts, stuff brining in etc, then please do shout- I know you said you're the only driver, so I'd hard to think of your partner struggling to get to you.

I think this means I'm going to order a baby changing bag today and pack a hospital bag this weekend!

TwittleBee · 27/06/2019 08:42

Thank you everyone.

I've got a scan at midday so should know more by then. The consultant for Fetal Medicine typically doesn't work Thursdays! But another doctor will look at the results and should be able to advise they said.

Surprisingly I'll actyally be allowed home but under strict rest and taking my own temperature, to monitor for infection, ebeey 4 hours.

I'm North Essex so not sure I'm too close to anyone but thankfully I've a large family due to my parents splitting when I was 4 years old and going off to have their own families again so hopefully will have enough support. My sisters are pretty good.

Its good you will be allowed home twittle i bet you are relieved! Also good about extended family support! Lots of rest for you!

db92 · 27/06/2019 10:21

Thinking of you @TwittleBee . Really glad the scan looked good and keeping everything crossed for you that baby can stay put as long as possible Thanks

easterbuns1 · 27/06/2019 10:29

Sorry to hear you are having such a stressful time twittlebee, it must be such a worry but at least you are being looked after closely. Will be thinking of you.

Dyra · 27/06/2019 11:08

@TwittleBee Glad to hear you're getting to go home. Put those feet well and truly into the up position and let everyone fuss over you.

TwittleBee · 27/06/2019 11:24

Just waiting for another scan and 2nd dose of steroids now before having a tour and chat with the NICU team. Been told to be prepared to be induced this evening now as they think I've actually lost too much fluid, hence the reason for this scan.

If I haven't and I can go home, the DR said I I am likely to go into labour within the fortnight and so be prepared for only a 80% survival rate.

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/06/2019 11:33

Oh twittle SadFlowers My fingers are firmly crossed for you. 80% is pretty good. My dds best friend at nursery was a little boy born at 30 weeks. You never ever would have guessed he was a prem baby and i knew him from around 12m!

Megan2018 · 27/06/2019 11:47

Oh what a rollercoaster @TwittleBee
My friends baby was born last year at 30 weeks and is now a very healthy and robust 12 month old with no long term issues. I know 28 weeks is more risky but chances are still good.

It was a very scary time though, we're all here for a handhold. Hope that baby can stay put for a little while longer to maximise good outcomes.

TwittleBee · 27/06/2019 12:18

Scan done, fluid left falls below the 5th centile but she didn't say what that would mean. Baby weighs 2lb 12oz which is really good she said and no abnormalities 🤞Just need to wait for doctor now...

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/06/2019 12:26

Good size baby twittle hopefully they will let you try and wait it out

TheCraicDealer · 27/06/2019 12:30

Crossing everything for you TwittleBee. An acquaintance of mine had her DD at 27w- she was in NICU for a good while but she's turning two next month with no lasting issues.

I know anecdote doesn't equal data but these stories and the doctors' advice are reasons to keep positive despite how scary it must be Thanks

BBell2 · 27/06/2019 12:46

@twittlebee you poor love, this has been so hard for you :(
I can add another positive story, my BFs waters went just under 30wks, she did 5 days of injections and had her DS 30wks, he was smaller than yours is measuring, 2.12 I great! He is thriving, I think his hospital stay was under 6 wks. Hes a healthy 1 this week Xxx

DustyDoorframes · 27/06/2019 12:48

Oh Twittle!!! Scary times. That's brilliant re the babe looking so big and healthy in the scan- remember that the 80% figure includes little ones who are born very poorly as well as just very early. We are all rooting for you (and for that impatient babe!!)

KnobJockey · 27/06/2019 13:21

Oh @TwittleBee, so scary. It's good news that the little one is looking healthy so far, and every minute or every day he's getting a little bit bigger and stronger. And an 80% rate of survival at this point is terrifying but much higher than expected- I imagine its about 95% at full term, so for 12 weeks earlier those are much better statistics.

Is everybody running around to sort out stuff for you? I know you were planning on ordering your labour bag, but is anyone able to dash out and get the bits that you need today, in case you do need them tonight?

stormtrooperjulian · 27/06/2019 13:54

Oh wow @TwittleBee that’s so scary, you’re in the best place though and I’m sure your doctors will do everything they can for you, you just have to trust them. Do you have your DH or your mum or someone with you? I hope he hangs on in there for a while longer

KLane · 27/06/2019 13:54

Everything is crossed for you @TwittleBee! You're in the best place with a very impatient baby!

TwittleBee · 27/06/2019 13:56

Midwife said she reckons they will be sending me home on rest still despite very low waters so certainly have to be very careful of bump if that does happen. She said the doctors will want to come up with a plan of care which will probably be at least weekly checks and any cramping at all I will have to come straight in to be monitored.

Does feel like an emotional rollercoaster atm, so much information and so much that might happen.

My lovely pre packed birth bag is due to arrive tomorrow! But mum's made me up a quick one and popped it in for me to have now in case i stay overnight again

happydays00 · 27/06/2019 13:58

Oh @TwittleBee , another rooting for you here! 80% are strong odds and your baby is a good size! Everything is crossed for you!

KnobJockey · 27/06/2019 14:02

Well make sure you take note of that when/ if you do go home, and trust your instincts- your gut has been telling you somethings not right for a couple of weeks, they call it mothers instinct for a reason. But fingers crossed you do get to go home, and manage a couple of weeks relaxing in your own surroundings. No running around after the toddler!

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/06/2019 14:17

Have you had any cramping while being in there twittle?
