I did it (slightly adjusted the wording - is it OK?)!!! Now all we've got to do is a link from the old one to the new one - I'll leave that to somebody a bit more competent!

By the way, I just go laalalaalalaaa when you guys talk about epidurals/pain relief etc. I really didn't enjoy having one when I had DS but I had to as they had put me on a drip and all sorts and I had lots of complications. Ended up with even more severe migraines for years afterwards too. Didn't have one with DD1 and much preferred the whole experience. If I can get away with it this time, I'm going to try and avoid having one (obviously can't predict how things will go!). Gas & Air me up all the way!!!

Kyala - You're so right, the government isn't great at supporting those who are pretty responsible.... not only am I a raving feminist I'm also a loony lefty and I think the welfare state is great, just a shame too many people abuse it. Aaaaaanyway!!! Back to the matter in hand, getting married was a big enough change for me to cope with... I own our flat, and I've just spent about £20k on doing it all up so we can try and sell it next year, just sharing that with dh is sooo hard !! I worked hard for that, it's mine all mine I tell you!! Oh well, I'm sure dh will be gentle with me and won't make me stick to too tight a budget, esp as I'm going back to work in April anyway, smp kicks in in January, so not too much to bear!

toadstool - I haven't tried the moxibustion yet, have you asked on the breech watch thread if anyone's done it?

kinki · 14/08/2007 21:55

Hi Kyala, Oisin came up in our conversations about names. My other 2 dses have irish names so we were looking for another one to go with their's. Dh's favourite for a girl has always been Roisin, so the other day I said if he liked Roisin so much for a girl, would he like Oisin for a boy. The answer was no, but I think that's because he wants to save Roisin in case we have a girl in the future. (Didn't like to break the news that I'm never bloody well going through this again. Ever.)

Floss, we free'd up some equity on our house a few years ago. I'm so glad we did it. We arranged for some to cover home improvements and for travelling. Well, we did the travelling, but never quite got round to the home improvements (didn't release or spend that part of the money though thankfully).

Crikey, Hopey, you poor thing. I really hope this is nothing serious, and that you heal quickly. You've had so much on your plate lately, I'm sure you could do without this. Could a bit of gentle massage help perhaps?

MrsM, I had been with dh for nearly 13 years when I had ds1. Up until the last few weeks of pregnancy, we were always financially independent of each other. But then we had a sudden urge to have a joint bank account. Since we were sharing a baby, thought we had better start sharing our money. After the initial shock, we're used to it now.

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 14/08/2007 22:52

HIWBB you poor thing! hope the tablets hurt and you're feeling better soon.

The whole money thing was huge for me last time round as well, i've never, ever been anything other than financially independent since i left home (a long time ago) and it's hard to be dependent on dh. luckily he's great and we worked it out so i don't have to ask him for money. i have to say though, it doesn't get any easier. i no longer shop - neither time, nor funds, nor inclination (don't go out much!) and feel bad about spending money on hair cuts etc. You don't realise how well off you were when there were just the two of you until you become three...and i'm really dreading the financial reality of having two children. childcare costs will wipe out my salary but i can't not work. i only did my last day last monday and i'm bored at home doing full time childcare already!

Having said all that, i am planning a shopping trip tomorrow as dd needs new shoes (for economy's sake we're heading to clarkes rather than local shoe shop which is lovely but, really, £40+ for shoes which last six weeks , i'm told clarkes are more like £20+?!) and i'm going to get a 'coming home' outfit for the new baby from 'the white company'. A girl needs to look good for that first journey, no?!

Oh, and i'll look out for these bed pad things. we just got a new bed (only been meaning to be one since flat was done almost two years ago) so should make the effort! it's just the thought of sleeping on something waterproof. lacks...glamour....somehow .

You'd think i'd know by now, abandon dignity all who enter childbirth! Hell, what's a bit of waterproofing compared to stirrups?

amyclaramum · 15/08/2007 08:27

Good morning all !
Very impressed with Kyala's long message - thanks for your kind words

Sophus - how exciting !

Hiwbb- you poor thing ! Hope you are soon feeling better. Can you get a physio appt ?

Re maternity pads for bed I have put one of the DC's waterproof sheets on my side - do you think that will work just as well ?

Re money I have been a SAHM for quite a while now so am a "cost centre" as my Accountant DH calls it !' It works fine now - difficult to think of my career/education gone to pot sometimes ! However my pre mummmy job was in Fashion Buying and Merchandising when you worked all hours and there was no slack for working Mums so never thought I'd be able to do both well. Then we moved abroad with DH'S job and now expecting this LO !

Anyway am off to hospital now for the ECV and hopefully will be back this afternoon/evening. Wish me luck !

Have a good day !

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 08:47

good luck

hayley2u · 15/08/2007 09:21

good luck amy

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 09:22

have put a bump picture on my profile if you need a laugh...

FlossALump · 15/08/2007 09:27

I love my mum! She just sent a cheque for the pram, despite knowing how much I needed has sent a little extra. So now hopefully I'll be able to afford to live/and buy the last few bits we need for baby in a timely organised fashion.

ACM - good luck this monring - hope it all goes to plan!

kyala - it does sound a bit like that! I say it because friends who have brought the tea bags haven't had much luck with it. I used the 'pure' (!) stuff last time and had DS at 37+6 and with a 5 hour labour. Which can't be bad for a first born!

Short post as DS has decided to come and try and help me...

FlossALump · 15/08/2007 09:28

I have a bump picture on my profile too!

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 09:35

oh, but yours is so pretty.

kinki · 15/08/2007 09:54

Don't think there is a camera with a wide enough lens to capture my bump in one shot. Mine is hoooge and above belly button height. One good thing is that I can still wear my pre-pregnancy jeans - but have to undo the button in the late afternoon, he must drop a little as the day goes by.

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 15/08/2007 10:02

good luck amy!

and good on your mum, flossalump. mine just about keeps dd dressed - barely a week goes by without a parcel arriving. i have to say, it's very useful!

hope everyone has a good day. slightly dreading brent cross (yuk) but if it means i get sorted it'll be worth the shopping centre experience!

x

hayley2u · 15/08/2007 10:38

wow all your bumps are so neat. i must be the only honey monster. iv gone from size 10/12 normal to 14 in maternity pants (god knows what id be in normal too scared to see) and size 16 in tops as i have big huge jordon boobs, so not fair. wish i could be one of those people who get a belly thats it.so not fair.
do love my bump though even if its huuuge.but going to take me ages to get back into shape.

FlossALump · 15/08/2007 11:01

No seamonster, I think its my top thats pretty!

I ballooned with DS, went from a size 12 to a size 14-16 in maternity clothes. This time I started a 14 and am still in 14's in maternity clothes. The size 16 skirt I brought from bloomin marvelous early on convinced I'd fit in it at the end still falls down! But I don't think I'll be able to tell for certain until after the baby is born just how big I have gotten... It was rather a shock last time when my 16-18's cheapey clothes from primark didn't fit...

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 11:06

I've given up any pretence of ever having an inny again.

lol will have to roll up belly and stuff it into knickers

Chattyhan · 15/08/2007 11:09

Hi all -

Scan went well - lo has caught up a bit and weighs 5lb 2oz at 35+2 which is very respectable so they don't want to do any more. They say baby will be approx 7lb 2oz at full term nothing compared to DS at 8lb 9oz although i'm slightly concerned that if labour only 3 1/2 hrs with DS how quick will it be with a smaller baby!!!

On the down side diagnosed with SPD and refered to physio for corset and crutches. Really suffering with low back pain across my bum and in my tailbone. My pelvis generally feels very loose and uncomfortable. told to rest as much as poss(try telling DS that) and avoid walking and stairs!
General opinion is i'm overdoing it and have to stop - hopefully it's the kick up the arse DP needs. Last 2 days now looking after friends little girl but i'm sure it's going to be hell. Lunch will be a picnic in the living room to avoid lifting the 2 up and down from highchairs!
Hospital wants to see me at 38wks and will discuss induction then if i'm really suffering! Looking forward to a restful weekend as DS is going to MIL!

on the bed we've got a waterproof sheet under the mattress protectorand then sheet so we don't feel it! Instead of maternity bed mats disposable baby changing mats or bed wetting mats are cheaper and the same thing imo. I used one to sit on in the car/sofa after my waters had gone to protect seats!

Can anyone explain urine results PRO TR and LEU TR nobody said anything and didn't notice until i got home! Always been NAD before.

Sorry for the me, me, me post

Hugs to everyone xx

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 11:15

with me ds2 at 8lb5 was the biggest and the quickest, alot of people have said that bigger babies [not too big though] are often quicker because you have to open up more.
I don't know about the other things, but if it wasn't mentioned I guess you don't need to worry[?]
I'm glad to hear baby's weight is no longer a concern, but your poor back, mine is sore but obviously not as bad as yours.
Do try to take it easy, easier said than done I know, I can't wait for the boys to go away next week, as mean as that sounds..

kinki · 15/08/2007 11:21

Chatty, I know NAD means 'no abnormality detected'. I know that because I use the same abbreviation all the time on reports I write. I don't know for certain, but could TR mean 'trace'? PRO could mean 'protein' and LEU could mean leucocytes. When looking for protein, the lowest recordable amount is classed as 'trace'. So are they saying you have a trace of protein and leucocytes in your urine? I'm guessing, I don't know for sure, and really don't want to set you worrying. I had protein in my wee yesterday too. Hopefully someone else will help clarify.

Sea, I've got to ask, why are you now a twit?

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 11:22

it suits me better

kinki · 15/08/2007 11:23
Grin
MrsFish · 15/08/2007 11:24

My latest bump pic is on my profile too. I have put on 2st 5 pound so far but am still in a size 14 maternity which is good for me. My mum and aunts reckon it is all baby this time round, they don't think I have put on as much weight elsewhere like I did with ds, so will have to wait and see when he is born just what the damage is.

HIWBB - hope you are feeling better soon, same goes to all those with spd problems, I can't believe how many of you are suffering from it, puts my petty niggles to shame.

Sun is shining here today again after a dodgy start, and am off out to Mothercare with my friend this afternoon after a bite of lunch. Going to buy my last bit of baby stuff, I need a new rocker chair, I do have one that is supposed to be from birth but it doesn't seem very comfortable so I am going to splash out on another one. I feel a little guilty about doing it though for such a short time but I suppose I can always sell it on afterwards

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 11:30

am of your bump.

MrsFish · 15/08/2007 11:33

Yeah but I'm only on the second child

Chattyhan · 15/08/2007 11:37

I'm on 2nd child and i certainly don't look like that! I don't think i'm as flabby as i was with DS1 but covered in stretchmarks from last time and just noticed new ones this week! I was in size 12 maternity but growing out of that now and living in my 14 maternity joggers!

TwitmonstEr · 15/08/2007 11:38

and your hair. I know I've said it before but
