Ready salted crisps definitely help with morning sickness. I agree there. I've tried the bands. Not sure if they're helping or not tbh!

KMic · 06/06/2019 14:53

@MoominMantra I'm tempted to try the bands ... are they safe?! X

Bluebelltulip · 06/06/2019 15:02

I'm trying the bands too @KMic, it says on the box suitable for morning sickness. Not sure if they are doing anything yet but I thought it's worth a try.

beth3735 · 06/06/2019 15:02

My scan went great this morning, no picture unfortunately but our little baby has a lovely strong heartbeat 💗 they didn’t put my date back yet, said it’s measuring up at around 7+4 weeks anyway. I’ve put my private scan off until 2 weekends away on the 23rd so I’ll be 10 weeks by then 💕

mynameisMrG · 06/06/2019 15:09

Great news @beth3735

@MoominMantra the bands didn't do anything for me but obviously worth a try.
@mynameisMrG I've completely gone off OJ, used to be an addict before. Marmite on toast is the only thing I can eat that I know won't come back up but wouldn't say I'm craving it... I have to drop a friend to pick his car up from the garage tomorrow and there's a really nice sandwich shop right by it, might pop in and try and egg mayo roll 😋

mynameisMrG · 06/06/2019 17:08

Ooh yes @Bentley111 marmite on toast does it for me too, think it's the salt.

I promise DH I was going to start eating healthier today... I haven't and I am contemplating ordering a pizza for dinner.

@mynameisMrG that's exactly what I was going to have 🙈 in my defence DH is away this eve so I was planning to have a treat and watch a trashy film anyway.
I can't stick veg or meat at the min, it has to be processed white carbs 🙈

MoominMantra · 06/06/2019 17:21

Marmite on toast, here too

mynameisMrG · 06/06/2019 17:28

My DH is away tonight too lol @Bentley111 they will never know! There’s always tomorrow

I found the travel bands helpful, as well as ready salted crisps, to lain toast and ginger ale! What a diet Grin

megganonion · 06/06/2019 17:35

Hi everyone, ended up having my booking in appointment today instead of monday as midwife needs monday off. Glad to have it all over with!! Im 8+5 today and she told me the hospital closest to me cannot fit me in for 12 week scan until the end of july Shock then she told me 12 week scan must be done before 13+6?? I will be 14 weeks on july 13th so i dont see how this is going to work! Im in fermanagh in northern ireland and we only have 1 hospital so no choice but to wait it out i suppose just has me concerned and a little confused. They only run 3 morning clinics a week, surely they could extent one of the clinics to accommodate the extra demand, maybe im just being over dramatic or hormonal. I had intended to book a private gender scan for the end of july once dates wer confirmed by 12 week scan.. kinda put me on a downer!
Think i will get dh to bring home pepperoni and pinapple pizza, that will surely cheer me up Grin and ill treat myself to a glass of fanta orange with it, cant stand ot normally but is literally the best thing in the world atm!
Oh and i found lidl do flavoured crackers they are so good at killing the nausea! (Living on the pepper and sea salt ones atm)

DinoGreen · 06/06/2019 17:36

I absolutely adore marmite on toast, with loads of butter for even more saltiness ... mmm, I’m salivating right now at the thought of it.

I know I shouldn’t complain but it’s odd having no symptoms. I forget I’m pregnant half the time. Went to a work event last night and casually picked up a glass of champagne and drank a few sips before I remembered! I’ve still got another week and a half to go until my booking in appointment and 2 weeks until my early scan, so with no symptoms either it just feels like nothing is really happening yet. I’m sure it’ll become more real once I’ve had the scan.

mynameisMrG · 06/06/2019 17:43

Love that I’m not the only one whose diet seems to have slipped to the dark side!

Got my booking appointment tomorrow.

What stage are people having an early scan? I've not got anything booked apart from midwife appointment at 9 weeks...am I missing something?
Also could someone explain pregnancy maths to me-8+2?

MoominMantra · 06/06/2019 18:07

8+2 means 8 weeks and 2 days.

Bluebelltulip · 06/06/2019 18:08

@MyNameIsMrsG I intended to each healthier this pregnancy but my nausea has other ideas, hoping to be better once sickness eases.

@KatiePix 8+2 means 8 weeks and 2 days. Generally the NHS only do early scans if there is a history of miscarriage/ectopic pregnancy or if there is pain or bleeding in the pregnancy. You can get private ones though.

I keep going back and forth in my head about whether to have an early scan or not. I'm really worried that I'll get to 12 week one and find out it's a MMC ( not had one before though). I'm also scared about having a scan as the last one I had told me that my daughter had died, and I'd been having a lot of scans as she had a heart problem.

Mirana · 06/06/2019 18:12

Absolutely crapping my pants today. Nausea has massively eased off THE DAY BEFORE MY SCAN. Still having weird dreams, sore boobs and very hungry but after 2 weeks of solid nausea I'm so upset it chose today to ease 😂 6+4 today.

OH volunteered to work tomorrow and cant get down for scan, resulted in WW3. We are currently having a stand off. I feel like he should be there, I have sky high anxiety due to the previous losses, hes adamant everything will be fine and we could use the extra money. I also now have to pay £40 in taxis getting to the hospital and back which negates a bunch of said extra money. WHY ARE MEN.

Anon120 · 06/06/2019 18:13

Really random but does anyone get short sharp pains when they sneeze? Now it's hay fever season I can't stop and my eyes are itching like mad but nothing in boots is suitable for pregnant women.. I guess I'll have to go get a prescription 🤞🏻

Anon120 · 06/06/2019 18:13

@Mirana bless you I can totally understand where you're coming from. I would want him there too esp if my anxiety was hitting the roof z

McHelenz · 06/06/2019 18:14

My OH has just said he's excited to be a dad. It's the first proper time he's said anything serious about it!

MoominMantra · 06/06/2019 18:16

My diet is rubbish too. All I can eat is

Marmite on toast
Ready salted crisps
Pizza
Fruit
Fish fingers
Boiled egg

When I'm not pregnant I don't eat many carbs at all and no bread, ever. So now having to eat carbs or I'll be sick which has made me put weight on 😩😩 oh well, I can worry about how I look after the baby's born.

Bentley111 · 06/06/2019 18:19

@mynameisMrG have a lovely evening with your pizza 🍕 mine has just arrived won't be telling DH about the B&J Caramel Chew Chew that came either 😂

So pleased I'm not the only one eating terribly too. My theory is that at least something is going down. Last week I stepped on the scales to realise I've lost 9lbs since I fell pregnant with the sickness.

mynameisMrG · 06/06/2019 18:27

Thank you @Bentley111 I went for the chocolate chip cookies

@Anon120 I had a painful sneeze this morning and googled it 😂 just a short sharp pain in my stomach, completely normal apparently!
