congratulation!
How much you paid for private scan please? I guess it wasn't on the NHS.

Bentley111 · 03/06/2019 15:45

Congrats @TheOnlyMrsA 💖

DinoGreen · 03/06/2019 15:58

I’m so jealous of all the scan pics Grin congrats to those with positive scans! Mine isn’t for nearly 3 weeks. Booking in 2 weeks today. Hate wishing time away but I wish it would just hurry up!

TheOnlyMrsA · 03/06/2019 16:05

@DinoGreen don't be jealous, I've only had my early scans because we've been worried / concerned with bleeding and complication risks! No need for a scan is a good thing! Xoxox

mynameisMrG · 03/06/2019 16:20

Congratulations @TheOnlyMrsA lovely news

Hey, all these scans are making me want one! It's so difficult not knowing if everything is ok in there. Missed miscarriage is the main worry as I'm not bleeding or anything.

Thing with a scan is, I would have to go on my own in my lunch break, so if anything was wrong, it wouldn't be ideal timing!

I've got my booking in on Friday, so hopefully with get the 12 wk scan appointment letter through soon after that.

DinoGreen · 03/06/2019 17:22

@TheOnlyMrsA sorry you’re right, it’s insensitive of me to say I’m jealous when many of you have had early scans because of concerns and bleeding etc. I know I’m lucky not to have had any problems so far. I just want to know everything is ok in there for me too Smile

Anon120 · 03/06/2019 17:29

It's lovely seeing the scans! Am following the Emma's diary app just to see the baby's developments over each and aparrently at 9 weeks it has facial features already 😊 I'm petrified of telling my manager but want to tell him sooner rather than later as we are a 2 man team and have been so busy this year.. plus my role is meant to be expanding later this year .. so wanted to make it easier for him to start finding mat leave cover. He's just not a very understanding person esp when it comes to these things and I'm scared of his reaction lol. I know I shouldn't be but it's tough 😕

SleepingStandingUp · 03/06/2019 17:40

had booking in with hiospital today, been told i won't get the extra scan at 28 weeks because my bmi is 0.1 point off the threshold. i know they have to draw the line somewhere, but it seems ridiculous that they won't do it when it's basically at the threshold point - it's basically the difference of a big wee!
DS had growth scans at 30, 32 and 34, his tummy measurement dropped at 34 and i was meant to have a placenta scan the following week but went into spontaneous labour. He had a near fatal congenital defect which they hadn't picked up.

All of that is making me so scared that i'll have one can at 20 weeks and then they'll just wash their hands of me until i go into labour!
If i'd had a straightforward pregnancy 1st time, or if i was miles from the threshold i could understand it, but i'm going to get all the lecture about what an awful mum i am for concieving with a high bmi but nonew of the support and mangagement about from two consultantappts at 12 and 20 weeks

MummyBearBoo · 03/06/2019 18:47

Lovely scan pic ! My scan is a week tomorrow I'll be 9+1 then I think they've also sent me an appt for another scan on 20th which I don't think I'll need coz I'll need another scan about 4 days after that when I'm bang on 11 weeks if i've got my dates right!
Mine are on NHS so can't advise re:private didn't someone further down say they're about £40? As I'm consultant led I get more scan than normal anyway
I'm itching to get back to the gym but I just feel too ill in the morning to be able to eat then get there and and back in time to get my DD from Pre-school but i need it for my mental health these first few weeks are dragging and driving me crazy!! Xx

primarywoodle · 03/06/2019 18:54

I had scans every 4 weeks with my dd as had had a previous pregnancy where we had bad news at the 12 week scan.

She had a bad 12 week scan too but a clear amnio and 20 weeker - we still got all the extra scans but tbh i think because i was such a mess it was mainly for reassurance.

Im not saying that they will just give you scans but if you really are mentally unwell with anxiety and stress my hospital were fantastic. For the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy i went to the unit for monitoring heartrate etc purely for reassurance (also had an anterior placenta so was harder to feel movements)

I wish i was less anxious about pregnancy and i do feel slightly calmer now i now it can have a happy ending but if you campaign hard for yourself then you might have a good hospital that will also prioritise your mental health.

Failing that theres private ones but obviously they cost you money!

Ceejay19 · 03/06/2019 19:52

@mumfirstime I paid £79 for a private scan

DaisyMay25 · 03/06/2019 20:19

I've been telling awful again, managing to eat but now I think I'm having blood sugar issues! Was at physio today and nearly passed out twice!
She's told me I need to do pelvic floor exercises three times a day! (Along with other ones she gave me)
Also has anyone been having baths? I haven't had one since my egg collection in early April but I struggle to stand up in a shower

plipliop · 03/06/2019 20:27

@DaisyMay25 I have baths. Just not too hot and I have the window open.

TheOnlyMrsA · 03/06/2019 20:28

@DinoGreen I didn't mean to make you feel bad I was trying to be supportive 😂! So hard to portray your tone over a message it was like a GOGIRL no early scans can mean a healthy baby.

I lay on that bed today praying for my baby to be ok and the consultant was mooching around down there for ages and she said 'oh everything is ok, I'm just having a look in your womb finding my bearings before I show you ' I genuinely thought she couldn't find baby! Xox

TheOnlyMrsA · 03/06/2019 20:36

@MummyBearBoo my scans are NHS but there is a Diagnostic baby centre near me (that is used by the lovely radfords from 20 kids and counting) that charge £50 for a pre 12 reassurance scan. They are top rated.

I'm thinking of having one even though I've already had 2 NHS scans just depending on my dates. I have my big booking in appt I'm 2 weeks (so at 8/9 weeks) so they'll give me my scan date there and if it's miles off like more than 2/3 weeks in the future I'll have a private scan in between just to make sure baby is growing nicely xox

NewbieMam · 03/06/2019 20:38

We've paid £59 for a dating scan, its this Sunday!! It'll be 9+3 since stopping pill, but I think we'll be about 8+4 but because we're so unsure my dp paid for the early one. Booking in appointment is 11 weeks exactly from stopping pill so we've both been stressing which added to us paying fir an early one. Wish it was sooner but it was the first date we could both do Confused

I keep worrying as I have no symptoms for hours, other than sore breasts if I knock them. But then each night the last few nights around this time (8-9:30 ish) I've been feeling really sick. Anyone else get nausea on a night rather than morning?

Mirana · 03/06/2019 20:52

@NewbieMam I find I feel fab in the mornings, start feeling rough around midday then I'm sick until about 5/6pm. Then just mild nausea throughout the evenings!

I'm 6+1 today and been having cramps again. They're not painful (bar one or two) and they only last a few seconds then nothing for ages. They're like period pains but all at the front? Idk, am I going insane? I am uncomfortably bloated so could that be to blame? I dont want to harass the EPU when I have no bleeding/back pain/anything else and it's meant to be normal.

NewbieMam · 03/06/2019 20:54

@mirana I've been having cramps too the last few days last a few minutes then go for a few hours, but no bleeding either, I'm glad we've been able to have a private scan as I don't even know who id contact or what I'd say at this point

plipliop · 03/06/2019 21:00

@NewbieMam yes I feel worse in the evenings than in the mornings too.

mynameisMrG · 03/06/2019 21:11

@NewbieMam I feel pretty rough in the evening. I made really bad food choices earlier and felt sick for ages. Probably not helping! Been in bed since eight

I've been booked in and my scan is next week I'm 8 weeks even tho I get an early scab I've still been super impatient! So if you have you booking appt in 2 weeks are you 6w now? which number baby is this? Xx

MummyBearBoo · 03/06/2019 21:45

I started off being worse in the evening but since yesterday mornings (I was 7+6 then) have got worse I feel a bit sick all day but I actually feel hungry in an evening now!! Xx

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 03/06/2019 21:53

Don't forget that there's a secret Facebook group for people to join if they want too! Just message me your email address registered to Facebook

karryk · 03/06/2019 22:23

@NewbieMam mine is worse in the evening too - from around 9pm I feel terrible! It was the same with my daughter a couple of years ago. Mild nausea in the day which I could keep under control with snacks but really ramping up in the evening. Haven't been sick yet...but close Blush

I ended up having an early scan last week as I've had spotting and got a history of early miscarriage.. Thankfully scan was fine - should be around 7w6d today. I've got another scan next week - just hoping bub is still there!
