We are finally home after 8 days in hospital. Fucking hell.

@WeeBean At my preopp appointment I had a chat with a midwife to talk through what to do the night before in terms of medication. She also weighed me and took my bloods. Then I met an anaesthetist and she took me through the process for a spinal and when other alternatives would be required. That was about it! You could ask any questions you have about the procedure. I think if there’s someone available you can speak to a consultant too!

@DinoMamasaurus I'm seeing the midwife and the one I spoke to said she would probably be the one we would see tonight and explained she would do bloods, swabs and give meds! Not so confident I know what's going to happen today now 🤷‍♀️ Oh well I'll see later at the appointment (not until 6 tonight)

I think I’ve woken to my bloody show and I feel like I have menstrual cramps. Looks like baby wants to be on her way! I’m due to go in for my c-section in a few hours and labor ward have said that I’m okay to wait for that.

It’s ridiculous how genuinely excited I am to hear about all the lovely babies today.

I need to pop into work this afternoon to tie things up after unexpectedly missing my last week as I was in hospital, could live without that but it’s only a few hours. Other than that I’m a bit scared every time I leave the house in case my waters break (high risk of cord prolapse with transverse baby) but I need to keep telling myself how unlikely that is. Just got to wait til Thursday where I’ll either find out she’s moved or be admitted and at least I won’t be worried anymore (though I desperately don’t want to be admitted and be away from my 2 year old longer than I need to be).

So much for June babies 😂 I'm trying to get back on track with who's got to where but good luck to those going in today.
My blood pressure had gone up from pathetic to almost normal at my 36 week appointment last week and I've felt a bit crap last few days so I'm having a rest/keep an eye on things day today. Baby is still free and as active as ever, luckily.

Definitely having contractions now. The doctor asked if I wanted to see how far along I was and I said I still wanted the section! Hopefully baby stays put until they get me in.

I feeling a bit rough / nauseous / few cramps 38+6 today - wondering if baby is thinking about making a move over next few days? Part of me is so done with being pregnant and I'd love to have the baby ASAP now but then there is the reality that we have a house of painters and electricians this week trying to get everything done before our arrival!! Sigh!

Thank you all for your well wishes! We are home now and just settling into our new lives as a family of four!

Can I ask if anyone else is getting spasms, like major shooting pains? It's normally from my groin down my leg but now getting them in my bum cheek (sorry TMI!!)
They are excruciating and literally make my leg buckle. I assume it's baby sitting on a nerve or something?

@KoalasAteMyHomework omg yes me the last few days, seems to happen more late evening and it takes my breath away.

@Fizzytonicplease late evening here too. Normally when I'm cooking dinner! Glad it's not just me then.

We had our darling girl this afternoon. She’s absolutely perfect! Going through early labor was painful since I wasn’t prepared and wasn’t in a labor suite, but getting that anesthesia for the c-section was utter bliss.

Everyone was amazing and she screamed her lungs out immediately. Best sound in the world.

Thanks for all the support, ladies. It would have been a much lonelier pregnancy without you.
