I couldn't see a new thread so started one, hope that's OK.

Massive congratulations @swiftfox. So exciting to have our first baby!

At your parents house @toomanyflatwhites?? Yikes that sounds awful for you.

Also here for a vent, it’s been a truly horrific week and I’ve just had a letter from the police about running a red light, which I did on my way to the hospital when I went in for reduced movements on Monday. Obviously it was totally my fault, I misjudged the situation but aaahhhh this week can go to hell.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 25/05/2019 14:26

@toomanyflatwhites Get it all out. Sounds like your vent is 100% justified. TBH sounds like yelling at your husband would be 100% justified Grin

toomanyflatwhites · 25/05/2019 14:44

@hexagon01 @allfurcoatnoknickers ahh yes it does read like that - no thank god tbis was at home when we were packing. Not that that makes it much better!! Gave him the silent treatment for most of the drive down, he hasn't actually apologised but things are looking up as he has been playing on the beach with DD for the last hour while I watched.
And @hexagon01 that is SUCH a bugger!!!

toomanyflatwhites · 25/05/2019 14:45

Why is that whole post in bold??!!

LivingOnAPear · 25/05/2019 15:07

@toomanyflatwhites that does sound annoying. Men. Grrr.

I have been constantly tidying and cleaning in case I go into labour as I want it to be a calm environment. Dh is incapable of putting things away, wiping up crumbs, cleaning wee from the toilet rim, closing cupboard doors, putting clothes in wash basket and can’t seem to brush his teeth without leaving the tap covered in tooth paste. Yet on the rare occasion he cleans or tidies you can’t as much as put a cup of tea down on a surface in between sips.

@hexagon01 that’s rubbish. Any chance of appealing as you were rushing to hospital at the time?

hexagon01 · 25/05/2019 18:24

@LivingOnAPear I looked into it bit seems it’s better to just suck it up in case I was hit with court costa etc. I think it’ll be a £100 fine and 3 points 😭 I was just recently bragging that I’d never ever had points or an accident or even scratched the car. It was 100% my fault anyway, I just misjudged it and was in a rush. If anything bad happens to me tomorrow I will cry (more than I already have).

toomanyflatwhites · 25/05/2019 20:02

OMG we had 4 people view our flat today (first real day of viewings) and 1 has offered - cash! And only marginally under the asking price - should be exciting but am just terrified! We have had an offer accepted on a house last week but had started to get cold feet as it's a big jump up - but now we have a date that the buyer wants to complete by (mid July) so we are going to have to decide what to do! But that means our new babe could be moving at 1 month old and I could spend my mat leave summer in my own garden, instead of living in a flat 😳😮😜

rollerskaterdata · 25/05/2019 20:50

Bloody typical. I was admitted yesterday and told I would be induced this morning - and I'm currently lying in bed at home! I was sent home because the labour ward is super busy and they don’t have the room or the midwives to induce me now. So now I have to wait for a phone call for when they have space, might be later tonight, might be tomorrow, who knows. My husbands mum has come from London to babysit our son so has given up her weekend, and I told him I was going to come home with his baby sister and then I didn't 😳 Plus I spent time mentally preparing for it to happen and then it didn't (especially as I'm bloody terrified of being induced given my horrific past experience). I know it’s not their fault and that they need to induce people safely so they can have one to one care, and take care of the women who are actually in labour but I’m gutted now ☹️

allfurcoatnoknickers · 25/05/2019 21:45

@toomanyflatwhites That is so exciting!! Glad to hear you might be able to pull off the move - as a fellow flat-dweller, sitting in the garden sounds like bliss. No better way to recover from moving with a newborn...

toasterstrudle · 25/05/2019 22:14

@rollerskaterdata I'm so sorry, that sounds so disappointing and frustrating. Hopefully they'll get in touch asap. Especially when you've arranged childcare and psyched yourself up for it.

lavtriesagain · 26/05/2019 00:33

Hi all, can I join? I was on here ages ago but I forgot my password so am back again. I’m due on the 26th with DC1. We’re having a little boy!

Napssavelives · 26/05/2019 06:19

@rollerskaterdata that’s really disappointing, hope a bed comes up soon. I was in at DAU the other day and heard about this too, busy time for babies

toomanyflatwhites · 26/05/2019 07:42

@rollerskaterdata I can't imagine how you were/are feeling, what a build up to then come home! Really really hope you get the call soon - if you haven't already.
@lavtriesagain welcome! Were you on an earlier thread? What was your username before? So many people who were chatty earlier on just disappeared, I sometimes wonder where they all went!
@allfurcoatnoknickers thank you! It's mixed feelings as the flat is wonderful, and DP definitely doesn't want to leave it, (it's his not mine), but we have definitely outgrown it now and have found a pretty awesome house too. Hoping his mood will improve as yesterday mornings terrible outbids was followed by a lot of shiftiness - before and after the call with the offer - so cant blame it on this really...

WeeBean · 26/05/2019 09:21

@toomanyflatwhites ooh that's exciting! This time last year we only had a tiny yard with no where really to sit, moved last August and I'm so looking forward to sitting in the garden this summer. Hope it all works out for you!

@lavtriesagain welcome! 😊

@rollerskaterdata hope that phone call comes quickly and good luck when it does!

My grumble is only a minor one. We had tickets for Snow Patrol last night, it was actually a whole day celebrating Northern Irish music, which we were really excited about. Ash (whose gig I had to miss in December as I was sick) and Foy Vance were playing it! Anyway the night before there was a list of prohibited items released and folding chairs was on it, which I'd been relying on, phoned up and explained I'm 36 weeks pregnant and is there no way I could bring a chair. Answer was a solid no (incase I threw the chair at someone apparently) so we decided to sell the tickets as standing for 6+ hours wasn't an option. Facebook and Instagram this morning are full of fantastic pictures and videos from the gig, it looked absolutely amazing! And! Bono joined Snow Patrol on stage to sing One! Absolutely gutted we missed it, topped it off by being up during the night boking again 🙄 I'm so over being pregnant.

Kescilly · 26/05/2019 10:00

Ahh I’m missing what’s going on with everyone! Are you moving, @toomanyflatwhites?

@rollerskaterdata that’s so frustrating! I’ve been wondering if I will have my baby on Tuesday or if I’ll get bumped out of the way for emergency cases. Do you have any idea when they’ll get to you?

@lavtriesagain welcome!

@WeeBean I’m laughing at the image of you being heavily pregnant and throwing a chair at someone. Although with how crazy my hormones have been, it’s probably not as unlikely as I’d like to think!

LivingOnAPear · 26/05/2019 10:00

@toomanyflatwhites. That’s great news tho. And no more viewings! I understand about cold feet as we are more than doubling our mortgage to move to bigger house and nicer area. I’m thinking of money making schemes like doing air bnb or having language students to stay.

@rollerskaterdata how bloody annoying. Hopefully they will get you back in later. I’ve heard about this happening to so many people. It’s good that they are waiting until there is space so you won’t end up in labour on antenatal.

I’m currently in a bad mood. Had pains since thurs so thought this might be it but it hasn’t progressed. I’m 38+2 so it’s still early but I’m under pressure to have this baby on time as I’m 40. I’ve now read that prodromal labour can go on for weeks and means nothing so I’m worried about being over due again. I don’t know whether to give up on having a home birth, resign myself to being induced but see if I can book into a really nice hospital about an hour away (it might be too late at this stage) or stick with home birth plans and possibly risk being induced at the local hospital which is not very nice. I had my daughter at the local hospital so still have negative feelings about it from then and don’t think it’s improved.

rollerskaterdata · 26/05/2019 10:42

Thank you for the well wishes ladies, it didn't take too long for the call to come. I'm currently on the CTG in a labour room and once they take me off, they'll break my waters and off we go! 😱 really trying hard not to s**t myself about the pain to come, I'm really nervous!!

LivingOnAPear · 26/05/2019 11:17

@rollerskaterdata glad you got called back so quickly. Sending you best wishes.

Bizawit · 26/05/2019 11:22

@rollerskaterdata arghhh good luck!!!!! Are you planning to have an epidural? If so, hopefully you won’t need to feel a thing... Smile Flowers

lavtriesagain · 26/05/2019 11:42

Thank you for my welcome ladies. I was on here VERY early on @toomanyflatwhites but dropped off, can’t remember my username. I think because at the start there’s so many women on these threads it can be hard to keep up so a lot of ladies fall off the thread.

@WeeBean I’m sorry about you missing your gig last night. These last few weeks are so tedious.

Napssavelives · 26/05/2019 12:05

Heavily pregnant women shouldn’t watch one born every minute 😭😭😭 pretty much cried throughout the whole thing. I’m so done , so bloody done. 37 + 2 and over it.

KoalasAteMyHomework · 26/05/2019 12:26

Wow good luck @rollerskaterdata!

I am also fed up now and still got 2.5 weeks til due date. There's so much going on with DS at the moment that I'm just exhausted. I am fed up being pregnant but equally panicking as there's still so much to do before baby arrives.

Although at least I'm not going through house moves and sales like some of you!

lavtriesagain · 26/05/2019 12:41

Has anyone else got to the stage where they hate clothes yet?. I spend most of my time walking around naked now, I’m so hot all the time!

fee1234 · 26/05/2019 17:29

@rollerskaterdata hope it's going okay!

Last night I blended a whole pineapple and drank it thinking it would help things along. It didn't and just made me have a funny tummy 😩

hexagon01 · 26/05/2019 20:35

Thinking of you @rollerskaterdata

@lavtriesagain I’m not quite at naked stage but my jamas are getting put on earlier and earlier and I’ve moved onto my hideous maternity bras.
