Sat in the waiting room for 25w midwife appointment and realised my jumper is both inside out and back to front Blush label right under my chin. Not winning today!

Megan2018 · 06/06/2019 09:46

I’m looking at backpack style changing bags as they seem to suit cloth nappies better and will work with sling. I need room for the clean nappies plus wet bag so need more room than for disposables. Holding off a purchase until pushchair decided on though as want it to coordinate!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/06/2019 09:51

I might try a back pack one this time, purely because they look like they hold more and i would rather put dc4s stuff in with babies than have two bags

But yes it needs to coordinate!

Stroan · 06/06/2019 09:59

I got this one from Amazon - www.amazon.co.uk/Lekebaby-Large-Nappy-Changing-Backpack/dp/B07QM4ZPG1/ref=sr_1_26_sspa?psc=1&s=gateway&keywords=backpack+changing+bag&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1559811470&sr=8-26-spons

I liked that the nappy part was fully separate and it has a wet compartment.

Megan2018 · 06/06/2019 10:09

@Stroan
That’s on my shortlist too-looks good. Just need to sort pram first.

TwittleBee · 06/06/2019 10:09

I was going to get us a new changing bag (thinking be handy to have 2 packed and ready just in case) too and considering this one:

www.birthbags.co.uk/changingbags?gclid=CjwKCAjw8-LnBRAyEiwA6eUMGmvmkrc6-SogpIYuFlhA_GmBKM9mqa1eE43j6m0uOH2bCU5lLvaxthoCNNQQAvD_BwE

As then that is the labour / birth essentials also already sorted!

Karigan195 · 06/06/2019 10:11

Is everyone getting changing bags? We have tons of rucksacks in our house so was just thinking I’d use one of those with a few drysacks inside for partitioning. What would a changing bag that’s better? Anyone know?

Stroan · 06/06/2019 10:11

@megan2018 I'm pleased with it. Not completely thrilled about the anchors but honestly can't get too worked up about them!

Whisky2014 · 06/06/2019 10:15

Ugh god im on holiday and just got out the shower. When I stepped onto the bath I had a trickle of liquid came out of me. It looked orange stained on the bath mat. Then, I sat on the bed luckily on a towel and I felt a flood of liquid come out, ran to toilet and sat on it and another stream of liquid. Has anyone else had this?

Megan2018 · 06/06/2019 10:20

I don’t own anything suitable @Karigan195
Otherwise I’d try what I had first. I’m not a bag person so don’t own anything like that really!

Megan2018 · 06/06/2019 10:21

@Stroan
I think at that price it sounds good. I draw the line at spending more than £40 on a changing bag. There’s some for £100+ and its not something I can get excited about Grin

Megan2018 · 06/06/2019 10:24

@Whisky2014
How much are you talking?
I’ve had a few instances of leaking wee Shock Blush
But that was inly a dribble. Happened a couple of times and was horrible as couldn’t feel it happen- I put it down to baby on bladder. But a proper gush needs medical attention I think in case its your waters. Are you near a hospital?

Whisky2014 · 06/06/2019 10:32

Well, I think the first dribble that came out onto the bath mat might have been wee. I was unsure. But then the next lots were clear. I'm gona say less than 20ml total.
I'm sure I could get to a hospital but we are away with friends and don't want to make a hoo ha! I feel ok and haven't had pains or anything Confused

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/06/2019 10:33

Do you have a pad you can put on and monitor?

Whisky2014 · 06/06/2019 10:33

I'm getting kicked and feel deep going inwards rather than out. Wonder if that's what's making it happen

Whisky2014 · 06/06/2019 10:34

I've put a liner on for now that's all I have.

Karigan195 · 06/06/2019 10:43

This says how to tell what it is:,

Moraxella · 06/06/2019 10:45

@Karigan195 same here, will use my normal backpack and put the money saved in their uni fund. However will definitely spend £15 on one of those small wide buggy organisers that hangs off the handle that you can def squeeze housekeys and maybe all the baby stuff too in

excitednerves · 06/06/2019 10:45

@whisky2014 I’d rather be safe than sorry. You’ll feel soo much better getting it checked.

excitednerves · 06/06/2019 10:50

Re changing bags, I’m in love with the Pacapod backpacks. Hunting down a deal or a lightly used one on eBay to save money. Also considering a nice backpack and buying some washbag type things to help organise everything - kind of a DIY Pacapod.

TwittleBee · 06/06/2019 10:57

I don't think there is any different really between rucksacks and "changing bag" rucksacks @Karigan195 . Only got a "changing bag" rucksacks with DS as I won it in an Instagram competition. Think the key to look for is compartments etc.

So my sister has just announced her pregnancy. She is 16 weeks so 10 weeks behind me.

Stroan · 06/06/2019 10:57

@karigan195 definitely not necessary if you already have rucksacks. I didn't, my only two handbags were lovely leather Marc Jacobs bags that I treated myself to in the US. No baby paraphernalia was going near either of them.

The main reason I didn't just use a normal rucksack is that I tend to just chuck stuff in a bag and then can't find it - my handbag is an utter riot and drives DH mad. Having a proper changing bag with actual organised places for things made me be a bit tidier and keep on top of it, which was then easier when we had to be somewhere quickly!

@excitednerves I loved my pacapod bag. So easy to grab what you needed, although the pods were a bit big and bulky sometimes.

Stroan · 06/06/2019 10:59

@whisky2014 I'd keep an eye on it and also find out where the nearest maternity assessment unit/triage is, just in case.

It's probably nothing, but always good to be checked. I'm sure your friends won't think you are making a fuss.

@twittlebee how do you feel about that? My sister had a baby 22 hours before me!

TwittleBee · 06/06/2019 10:59

Super happy for her BUT also pretty nervous because she is (was?) a drug addict and hasn't the best relationship with her partner (who is a drug dealer...).

Also, mum's told me they're hosting a baby shower for her... this is after she told me she didn't agree with baby showers let alone ever hosting one for me.

Feel like a bitter cow.

TwittleBee · 06/06/2019 11:02

Mum also refused to come to my "sex reveal" dinner because she was being a cow... So yes resentment for sure.

Sorry @whisky2014 you're issue right now is far more worrying than my family drama! As others have suggested, keep checking on it. Fluid can just trickle or just stop and start depending on baby's position.
