My work attire has gotten ridiculously casual and shabby, but I only have 5 weeks before the summer holidays now. No way I'm buying maternity shirts just for that!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 12:07

Suppose atleast i dont have to attempt to look smart for work! Hopefully no one will invite me to any formal occasions between now and september!

Whisky2014 · 03/06/2019 12:13

Argh just leaving to go to this owl thing and I'm met with a part of our swimming pool cover that's been blown against our house causing damage to rendering, smashing the top of a pillar on the surrounding patio area and a piece of our guttering.
Then me and husband argues Because I wanted it moved and he didn't want to risk either of us being hurt. It's very heavy stuff but his suggestion of calling someone to help was silly to me before we had even tried. If we did that we wouldn't get to the owls!
God what's a fucking shitty 2 days and we ad just had such a nice time away!
On the road now and we are fine with each other but jeez I need another holiday!

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 12:19

So casual in the office here (classic start up) so I can get away with wearing whatever to be comfy.

Living in dresses though, as I found that was what I was most comfy in when pregnant with DS

Whisky that really is a run of bad shit happening to you! Bloomin hope it swings round asap

Whisky2014 · 03/06/2019 12:29

I've not work any dresses really. Only 1 for a nice dinner out. My office is full of engineers and I'm the only woman, it's not really a place for a dress but I do feel scruffy.

@sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops

Thank you for your input re the Joie Chrome DLX! Can i just ask a couple of questions?

What age did you have it from? Do you have the carrycot? If so what age did baby outgrow
Have the fabrics kept nice? No bobbling etc
How easy is it to push with a 2 year old in?

Going to try to get to Mothercare next week i think and have a look

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 12:57

Am I reading the price right on that deal at Mothercare on the Joie Chrome DLX ? £330 for pram, carry cot & a car seat? Not that we need a new pram (just being nosy!)

happydays00 · 03/06/2019 13:00

Hope things improve @Whisky2014 and @Megan2018 .

If it's any consolation I have already had several rants so far today about feeling fat and awful. I cried for no reason at all when my DD was eating her tea on Friday night and shouted at my DH for chewing loudly about 2 hours later. I'm a mess.

I feel like a gigantic whale and am convinced I'm bigger now at 26 weeks than I was with DD at 30 weeks, it doesn't bode well.

Hang in there ladies - pregnancy is a bloody hard slog but we're very nearly in the third and final trimester! We got thisssss

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 13:04

Yes twittle its £200 off!

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 13:06

insanely good price and love how it folds! must admit it does make me want to buy one as i hate our silvercross pioneer but really cant justify it with the house renovations going on!

Whisky2014 · 03/06/2019 13:07

@happydays00 ha yes I can relate to that. I've been having no patience about husband eating loudly. It's not even that bad I just get so annoyed with it. And get annoyed if he asks what I'd like for dinner etc haha he's being nice to me and I am snappy. Poor husband.
I'm in the 3rd tri know but still feels agggeeesss

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 13:07

ah yes happydays 3rd and final trimester almost upon us!!!!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 13:10

I did see one in the street the other day and it looked nice. It was in the navy colour. But i need a proper play with it!

It weighs 12.7 kg, my other main choice of a Cosatto Wow weighs 8.1 kg. I am fairly small and weak and live somewhere hilly so i am a bit concerned about the weight

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 13:11

Third trimester is 27 weeks or 28 i get confused?

Moraxella · 03/06/2019 13:17

@whisky you have a pool? I’m on my way over

Was tempted to ask my neighbours to jump in theirs after I spent all day hedge trimming in the boiling sun yesterday 🤪

Megan2018 · 03/06/2019 13:17

@TwittleBee
What do you hate about the Pioneer? It's in our top 3 contenders right now so I'm interested. Currently of the ones we have sen it is Ocarro, Pioneer and Nuna Mixx.

I am still finding this pregnancy lark ridiculously easy - feel marvellous (DH being a prize knob is I think nothing to do with the pg, we'd have had the same row not pregnant I think).

Next week is a big one here it feels - first NCT, growth scan and start of trimester 3. I really should start to listen to the hypnobirthing thing but still too scared of it.

Megan2018 · 03/06/2019 13:18

@IVEgottheDECAF my apps seem to say 27 weeks, but they are not all UK based so I'm not sure if that is right!

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 13:29

Decaf that weight might be an issue actually as that is what I hate about the Pioneer and that has a total weight of 11kg with the carrycot

Megan the steering is awful on it (despite it having 2 modes), it is so heavy, doesn't fold down small, it is just so bulky! Tbf, it is great for newborn stage I suppose when you want them secure but getting up and down curbs is awfully frustrating.

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 13:30

NHS says week 28 but all my apps say week 27 for 3rd trimester! I'll ask my MW and guess just go from what she says?

Stroan · 03/06/2019 13:32

The NHS says 28 weeks. But I have no more than 12 weeks (and 2 days!) to go so I'm considering myself in the final trimester because it makes me feel better! It makes no difference anyway.

I've been really worried lately about how DD will be when the baby arrives - it's been non stop tantrums for weeks. But this morning she's played with her doll for hours and is being so gentle. Baby Annabelle is currently wearing one of the babygrows we bought at the weekend. Too cute!

First growth scan tomorrow and then consultant appointment to see if they are happy with how I'm handling the gestational diabetes. If this baby is already big after I've restricted my diet I will be so disappointed. I'm losing weight so hopefully baby is coping well too.

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 13:32

twittle i had ruled out the wayfarer, pioneer and occaro based on size / bulkyness

My current pushchair is about 8kg and i am managing to push dc4 (2 and a half) without too much trouble although i sometimes release him on hills lol

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 13:36

stroan how old is your dd? I have no idea how dc4 will react!

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 13:36

decaf yeah I was totally suckered in by the design on the Pioneer (it is a John Lewis SE so has a funky pattern) and that the shop assistant recommended the pioneer for the sturdiness for a newborn... I did 0 research into prams foolishly!

Stroan hope it goes well tomorrow!

Megan2018 · 03/06/2019 13:45

@TwittleBee
That's interesting - it is the lightest of the ones on our shortlist! But need something really sturdy as we are rural - next to no kerbs here. More uneven tracks and things so I need something quite chunky.

The Ocarro and Mixx are over 12kg and the Pioneer is 10 but they are all pretty close. I know one of the early Pioneer models got slated for steering but the 2019 seems to review better for that.

I've got a few others I want to see but can't get hold of them locally.

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 13:53

Megan it did hold up pretty okay when we took it to the countryside tbf, it is the 2016 model we have so steering so probably was one of the poorer models for steering!
