I was the one with the reusable pantyliners! I got 10 white cotton liners for £5 from eBay. The quality is so-so; some are fine, but with some the material attaching to the popper is fraying after one wear.

I was looking at cheeky wipes- they're £££ but I'm sure the quality is better.

Karigan195 · 02/06/2019 15:14

We’re doing our best on the reuseable side of things. Using reuseable nappies, sanitary things, cheeky wipes and making a butt cream. Baby’s do need clothes though!

TwittleBee · 02/06/2019 15:17

Think we have too many clothes atm! Well too many for 1st 3 months, after that we haven't got much left from DS!

GemmaJen · 02/06/2019 15:36

I've got the cheeky wipes liners and pads, they are really nice quality and wash well.

DustyDoorframes · 02/06/2019 16:28

@TheCraicDealer I have a couple of the cheeky wipes ones and they are good, I'd like them to be a fraction thinner, but only a tiny bit. Maybe I'll get more of them then. I've got some of the EcoFemme ones too, which are also good, but a tiny bit too short. Might be fine when not pregnant though!
Hmm, I think I'm being too fussy- I'm too lazy to make my own though!

kyles101 · 02/06/2019 17:10

The spa day was very much what I needed - so relaxed now! Booked in for a full body massage in the middle of July and then another day at the end of August - it's just a local day spa so not too $$

Looked round the hospital this morning, seemed ok, bloody hot, and they only have one pool room, the rest are pretty clinical so hopefully that's available, and only a few private rooms for afterwards, again, fingers crossed.

We've done naff all else all day really, just loaded about. It's so hot though. Oh, dh did blow up the birthing ball - game changer - it's sooo comfy!

@TheCraicDealer well, most of the baby shite can wait if u have nappies and boobs I reckon. Do the spa - it's good for your mental wellbeing which you know, will make everything else easier 😉 really need to look at that site, Americans are obsessed, didn't realise they'd do a hunting nursery but think I about it can't say I'm surprised. Last time we were there we went to one of those massive outdoor world type places and it was an eye opener.

DustyDoorframes · 02/06/2019 19:45

Oh god I want a spa day! I spent today on rail replacement bus services and delays and I've had ENOUGH.
Really looking forward to a bath once the kids are in bed.

boodles101 · 02/06/2019 20:39

I want a spa day too! I very nearly booked one for me and my mum as it's her birthday on Tuesday but I didn't want to spend too much money. Regretting that now!!

Stroan · 02/06/2019 20:42

Can anyone recommend a support belt that is't too thick and hot?

I'm getting really sore under the bump when I walk, but also ridiculously hot all the time and can't really bear the thought of more layers. It's not even hot here and I've had 3 showers today!

We tried to do a bit of baby clothes shopping today - I'd never realised before that the shops stock more girls stuff than boys. Sainsburys had easily 3 times as much girls stuff, lots of different colours and styles. The boys section was rubbish! H&M was similar, one entire wall of girls stuff and one small rack of boys.

I liked some stuff I saw in M&S but their sizing is bonkers.

Whisky2014 · 02/06/2019 20:51

Hi all. I'm just back from a wee England trip so not been on here much. Need to catch up on what's been going on.

I'm having a shit day. Not anything that's happened but I feel sad. I just burst into tears when I got all annoyed trying to sort my clothes out since getting back. I decided to sort out the rest of my clothes and I'm just sick of it all. I can't wear anything because I'm too big now and really don't have much maternity clothes. Am I going to be fat and horrible for ages after the birth? I want to be fit and lean and I'm just a bloody podgy mess. I'm feeling down :(

Megan2018 · 02/06/2019 21:06

Rotten weekend here, DH’s birthday which he hates (long story, same every year-relates to his shit parents). Had to abandon our plans as one of the cats spent morning in vets (£500 poorer now and no answers Sad) and DH had a buyer turn up for his beloved Jeep (had to sell it ‘cos failed MOT and with baby we can’t afford to fix it).
Had a massive row late on and haven’t spoken all day. Aside from a few chores and tending the horse I have spent the day in bed as have felt awful with stress.
Urrggghhh. Sad

Whisky2014 · 02/06/2019 21:46

Oh Megan, sorry to hear that. Hope tomorrow is a better day

kyles101 · 03/06/2019 07:44

Hope things agre better today @Megan2018 and @Whisky2014 - if it makes you feel any better dh and I argued in Tesco yesterday and I threw a box of shreddies at him 🤷‍♀️

TwittleBee · 03/06/2019 08:03

Whisky oh whisky I feel the same, feel so puffy and not nice and round in the belly area. My waist has completely gone now. I've put on 5kg but feel like none of its baby and has instead gone to my arms, waist and thighs. Thing is, I know I will be able to drop it all off afterwards and I did manage to after DS but it did take a change of diet and working out.

Megan what a totally shit time. so sorry to read that this weekend has been nothing but stress really. Hoping for a better week for you

excitednerves · 03/06/2019 08:52

Oh no @whisky and @megan. I hope that today brings a fresh start for you both.

Whisky - I totally sympathise! I’ve put on more weight than I expected to and just feel like a blob, although I know it looks worse to me than anyone else. I really struggled with maternity wear and general loss of identity for a bit but I’m embracing it now and I’ll worry about getting back in shape at some point in the future. It’s crap that even when our bodies are doing something this incredible we should feel under pressure to look a certain way. Angry

Megan2018 · 03/06/2019 09:07

It's our wedding anniversary today, and I do not feel like celebrating it at all. In fact I want to tell him he's a twat Angry

Lack of sleep from deranged old and ill cat is not helping. Ideal baby prep - she is awake yowling constantly every hour from midnight to 4am and need fetching, bringing back to bed and cuddling. Marvellous.
Poor old thing. It is either dementia, thyroid, urine infection or heart issues. Waiting on test results this week.

Whisky2014 · 03/06/2019 10:05

Thank you all Flowers hopefully today is better. We are going to an owl sanctuary so that should be nice.
Kyles101 eek hope the shredded didn't explode everywhere but it did make me chuckle!
twittle oh I haven't even weighed myself at all through thus whole thing. I'm actually dreading if the midwife asks to weigh me. She only weighed me at my first ever appointment and nothing since.

Megan2018 oh i know the feeling. My dog wakes me up all tbrough the night. Husband never hears her Hmm hope you manage to rrsolve your issues and try and have a nice anniversary :)

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 10:06

Sorry you are still feeling down megan pregnancy hormones do tend to make everything worse. Dp and i have also had words last night/this morning and are barely speaking. Must be something in the air

KnobJockey · 03/06/2019 11:17

I feel for all of those feeling down. Sat and nearly cried this morning because the printer ran out of ink, I went to 3 shops to buy some, got home and it told me I needed another colour as well. My list for today is so long, but at the minute in back in bed.

Oh, and totally agree with those losing their rag at clothes. I've outgrown my first lot of maternity jeans, bought myself a new pair but those have developed a hole in the band after 1 week. Some people aren't even in maternity wear yet, but I've grown that much I've outgrown it!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 11:21

I have a pair of jeans i have almost outgrown. And some tops are getting short Angry we have another three months yet!

Megan2018 · 03/06/2019 11:30

I bought some of my mat clothes in a 14 (am a 12 normally) so luckily all fits fine still, some things are still a little big! This was mainly because I have form for shrinking things so wanted a bit of wriggle room but am glad now as it stops me feeling quite so massive.

Currently sporting a pair of wide leg mat trs from DP that are so comfy! They don't suit me at all as i am too short for wide leg - but I am past caring as they are so light. It is really warm in the office today so they are a blessing! They do make me look like a weeble though...

Whisky2014 · 03/06/2019 11:37

I did buy bits in a size up but i still feel uncomfy and this fucking below the bump waist bands...they don't stay up!
I'm just worries about getting back down to size 12 after the baby is here. Also annoying my husband is tall and handsome, he's started doing this fitness challenge and it's just making me feel worse. He's got a good body anyway so now I feel extra bad! I didn't want to spend loads on new stuff because really I only have 2 to 3 months left and seems wasteful. I have tonnes of clothes in my notmal size so really dont need to be buyng more.
Baby has been very wiggly lately!

Stroan · 03/06/2019 11:40

Sorry some of you are having an emotional time, hormones at this stage are so tricky and don't help.

Also struggling with mat clothes. Bump is almost too big for my mat jeans, especially in the afternoon but the jeans themselves are baggy and too big. I have dresses but they require leg-shaving and I think I'd have more success climbing a mountain. I'm reluctant to buy more clothes with just 12 weeks to go.

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/06/2019 11:49

Think i will end up in just leggings and harem trousers, i wont be buying more jeans. Tops wise though i may have to get a couple of cheap ones. I do like the next non maternity long vests so i might just get some more of those another size up
