Hahaha kyles101 make sure you check out the bedroom bedding/decor sets- if you want a camo or hunting themed nursery I have found your shop!!!

Very jealous of your spa. DH and I are talking about going for a babymoon spa thing in August or the start of September but they're £££ and we might need to be sensible and spend the money on baby shite 😫

I'm starting to get stitch-like pain in my side and below my belly button once I walk more than about 200 yards at my normal (fast, tbh) pace. Going to Disneyland Paris on Tuesday Blush does anyone have this and found anything that alleviates it? Would a support belt help? I'll take it easy obviously but looking for other options too.

Moraxella · 01/06/2019 12:16

7hr flight today. Enough of a work out getting the bloody dvt socks on, actually vommed after

@craic - I get this in the right every day when I start walking - I have to power through as supermarket is 2miles and we don’t have a car (don’t ask). It usually disappears after 5 mins of walking, but until it does I hold it like you do when you have a stitch. So I was wondering about getting a bump band. No idea what causes it, not sure the baby moves out the way- it’s def hanging out on the right side so just wondered if it was just a result of stretching!

IVEgottheDECAF · 01/06/2019 12:22

I get the same pain with or without my support belt on!

sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops · 01/06/2019 19:40

I've fallen behind- I'll use tonight to catch up on everything I've missed! Just went to John Lewis to have a provisional look at buggies...and have come home with a display clearance model Blush got a mountain buggy duet and carrycot for £450 which seemed too good to leave behind! Although it doesn't fit in my boot so I'll have to learn to drive DH's SUV....I can barely park my own tiny car using reversing cameras so this is easier said than done!

Applying for SMP when during the test period you have had two full time jobs and worked for three agencies doing extra shifts accumulating a total of six payroll numbers 😑😑😑

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 08:22

Do you mean Mat Allowence moraxella?

My employer has still not confirmed i dont get smp so i cant even apply yet!

26+3

Moraxella · 02/06/2019 08:35

Yes I do! I’ve gone mad. Now to choose a 13 week period 🤔

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 08:38

I worked this out. (I think i did it right lol) All you need is 13 weeks where you earned over i think £160 average pw. This should get you the max £148 pw.

One of the employers i have had in past couple of years didnt provide payslips but i have worked out i can still do it without even using them.

excitednerves · 02/06/2019 08:44

@sugarsprinkles - brilliant! I love finding a bargain! Baby stuff is so expensive, it feels great when you save a little bit!

@moraxella - that sounds like a nightmare 🙈 They don’t make it easy. Good luck with the admin.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 08:46

I still haven't decided on a pram Confused

Current short list

Nuna Mixx
Joie Chrome DLX
Cosatto Wow
M&P Sola 2
Cybex Balios S

My short list is getting longer .....

Megan2018 · 02/06/2019 09:08

@IVEgottheDECAF
Nor have we! I can’t find any local stockists of the 2 we’ve not seen yet so am choosing to ignore pushchairs for now.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 09:22

Glad it isnt just me megan

Gonna try and get to a mothercare in next couple of weeks

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 09:23

Also think my employer has until end of this week to give me an answer re SMP and then to end of next week to give me what i need for MA claim

Megan2018 · 02/06/2019 10:00

Our local mothercare has a really poor range. Same as John Lewis.
Don’t have the time to try further away at the moment though, too much on.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 10:02

Thats crap megan

I am thinking if i can just see a couple at mothercare i can atleast maybe rule a couple out! I assume theyll have the Joie as they have it on a big deal atm

sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops · 02/06/2019 10:03

@IVEgottheDECAF we have the joie chrome DLX for DD (2) & will buy a carrycot for baby to use for days when we don't need our new double. We started off with a bugaboo bee but prefer the Joie. Don't know about the others but highly recommend it and it'll last a long time- seat is huge and weight restriction is higher than most.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 10:03

Tbh if the fabric of Cosatto i want (well one of two) is reduced anywhere i would snap that up. I am happy with it otherwise but dont want to pay near £800

Moraxella · 02/06/2019 11:38

I’ve got baby stuff fatigue and getting anxious about the environmental impact of all this stuff 😰 (I need to balance the plane journeys). So all shopping on ice and I’m sticking with my second hand carriage built thing (all approx 20kgs of it!) initially and I bought a boba x sling thing and we will see how we go!

DustyDoorframes · 02/06/2019 12:08

@Moraxella your 13 weeks don't need to be consecutive, you can just pick 13 good ones. It's a massive bore in your circumstance!!!
Yeah re planet. I think we can just reuse stuff this time, although I've just got a second hand sidecar cot and am going to need to replenish the nappy stock, hopefully also second hand. We've mostly borrowed big stuff in the past- I'm looking for leads on a bouncy chair and a yoga ball at the mo, the ones I used last time have disappeared down the hand-me-down chain...

DustyDoorframes · 02/06/2019 12:10

Ooh, on a planet related note- someone ages ago mentioned they were using washable pantiliners, and recommended a particular sort. I'm in the market for a few more and none of the ones I have are perfect, so looking for recommendations...

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 12:15

I am reusing a cot, moses basket, bedding, baby monitor and clothes. That is my bit for the planet

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 12:15

Oh and also a baby swing, jumperoo and lots of toys books etc

Megan2018 · 02/06/2019 13:05

We’ve had masses of second hand clothes, toys plus bouncer, bedside crib, bath and various other things.
I’ve got mostly new nappies, mattress and pushchair and car seat will be new plus some clothes. But I’ll be giving away all the free to me stuff afterwards and selling the new to me things.
I’m on the lookout for some used furniture for the nursery, and would be fine with a used cot bed (new mattress), just not found anything yet. So these things might be new.

My car is fully electric though and we are on renewable electricity so I already do my bit!

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/06/2019 13:15

I have sold on most of the prams i have ever owned! Got £250 for my last one and it cost £400 when i bought it brand new so not bad!

DustyDoorframes · 02/06/2019 13:45

Megan things have a way of appearing when needed, so the bits you are missing may well turn up by the time you actually do need them!
