No measuring here til 28 weeks. I think baby is favouring the transverse position which is not great as i have already been warned i am risk for him being transverse / unstable lie at birth

Hsunshine · 31/05/2019 09:07

I got measured at 25 week apt but because I was almost 26 though. Had a midwife and a student though, the student said she normally didn’t measure until 28

Megan2018 · 31/05/2019 09:09

Wow @TwittleBee
They only measure from 28 here too although MW not measuring me as the growth scans replace it, I have mine at 27 weeks.
This was me yesterday at 25 weeks. Enormous!

@Florencenotflo that's great! Yay for odd days off lightening the load!

@TwittleBee that must be quite discombobulating! You are having one of those pregnancies that some women get on the pill, so they don't even know until they go to hospital thinking they've burst an appendix only to pop out a baby!

Hah @kyles101 I'd never thought about the 90% of pay thing like that! It's a good point. I always think it's pretty unfair that entitlement to SMP/MA is based on income alone, rather than hours- so a lawyer doing half an hour a week gets her full entitlement, but someone on minimum wage working 2 days is earning too little so doesn't.

TwittleBee · 31/05/2019 10:19

Decaf really hope baby turns for you, and hopefully the right way round too obviously!!

Megan I want a proper bump! Not one that keeps disappearing!

Dusty you're right, especially how I've still been having bleeds too!

Karigan195 · 31/05/2019 11:21

Apparently it’s around 28 weeks when most get into position. I was googling this the other day as I think tigger is lying sideways at the moment but as he’s all over the place it’s hard to tell! There’s a definite hard bump on the right side though.

Megan2018 · 31/05/2019 11:24

@Karigan195
That's interesting - I am 99% sure we are still breech and on my left - same as she has been since week 12 scan. All the kicks are to the left or right under my belly button - nothing at all on the right.
I think the MW said that they won't worry about the breech until 30 weeks as after that it is harder for them to move by themselves?

Although I am secretly hoping she stays put as that makes the c section a definite! yes I am a wimp

Karigan195 · 31/05/2019 11:41

Lol you and I are the exact opposite of that. I’m hoping for head down as I want a nice pool birth!

Moraxella · 31/05/2019 11:58

@ Twittle
When I wake up I look like that and then by the end of the day after I’ve eaten I just look podgy! I think it’s back to back and tucked in and feel loads of kicks all day long on the right side mainly under and around belly. I have stitch like pain right iliac fossa mainly when I walk 😱

happydays00 · 31/05/2019 11:58

Oh wow @TwittleBee ! I wouldn't worry too much, my cousin has just had a baby recently (7lbs 8 I think) and she was tiny!!! She was still in her normal jeans at 28 weeks and everyone loved to terrify her with comments on "how small her baby would be" etc etc. She isn't particularly tall so I don't know where this baby was hiding but just to say, try not to panic!

I, on the other hand, feel like a bloody whale. At a wedding at the weekend and some random woman felt the need to grab my bump and loudly exclaim THAT IS A BIG BABY! Needless to say, I was not impressed. I keep reminding myself I had it all the way through my pregnancy with DD, up until the point of delivery. She was actually only 7lbs but very long and I am hopeful this one is the same (and I'm not housing some potential 11lb monster)!!

I'm really struggling with feeling completely exhausted this week. Don't know if it's from a busy weekend or some sort of growth spurt but I had to have a nap at lunch yesterday and probably will do the same today!

happydays00 · 31/05/2019 11:59

@Moraxella sometimes I hve that pain too and it is so sore!! Sometimes I have to try doing a few squats / lunges until the baby moves out of that position as I just can't walk properly 😂

kyles101 · 31/05/2019 13:22

Also a very good point @DustyDoorframes

Heard heartbeat yesterday and midwife could tell baby was on the right just by looking - I don't get this at all but sure enough, instant heartbeat and indignant movements when poked by her!

As the nhs antenatal classes are every Wednesday afternoon for 4 weeks we're not doing those, so she's kindly said she'll take me round the ward this weekend when she's working - not sure I'm quite prepared for that yet but at least I'll be able to picture where I'll be from now on.

TheCraicDealer · 31/05/2019 19:18

I look huge already tbh, had men people comment on it when I've been out on site visits with work so I know I'm definitely well past the "oooh could just have been a big lunch" stage. There's a definite look of surprise when I say I'm not due until the end of September! Bump size doesn't necessarily equate to baby size so I'm already mentally rolling my eyes at people saying "that'll be a big baby" etc.

Starting to feel very sorry for Meghan Markle who had months of people speculating on when she was really due because of the size of her bump.

Boots have 50% off a lot of their baby clothes, including the jazzy gender neutral babygrows some of you liked. I think it makes them £3 a pop which isn't to be sniffed at.

excitednerves · 31/05/2019 19:53

Oooh just had a look @TheCraicDealer, so many cute things! Must. Resist. I really don’t need any more baby stuff just yet!

Hsunshine · 31/05/2019 21:16

Remember with some of the boots ones they don’t button open all the way so you have to get them over babies head. I brought two before I realised

BBell2 · 31/05/2019 21:44

@TheCraicDealer I bought the Boots rainbow stripe sleepsuit on Monday with points, it's very cute! Was so so tempted by some of the girls grows...must resist till he/she is here!

I got my growth scans through today (small DD) and I have three June,July,Aug - I'm quite pleased and surprised I thought it would be one, baby is big or small book another. Cant wait to see baby again, but last time it was impossible to make much out so close!

Megan2018 · 31/05/2019 22:39

@BBell2
I have my first growth scan at 27 weeks (week Thurs), then apparently monthly after that until birth so sounds the same. It’ll replace the MW measurements apparently, so I’ll still see MW for heartbeat, bloods etc as usuall but she won’t measure.
At our hospital it says they don’t give scan photos after 28 weeks, I imagine its because its so close too!

TheCraicDealer · 31/05/2019 23:25

Currently entertaining myself by browsing on Buy Buy Baby, which is like Mothercare but on steroids. Their stock includes a whirlpool spa baby bath with shower attachment, and a headband holder which looks like something a drag queen would store their wigs on.

IVEgottheDECAF · 01/06/2019 08:30

That sounds an interesting site craic!

I have a busy day ahead and really cba

boodles101 · 01/06/2019 08:31

Went to a wedding yesterday and boy am I suffering for it this morning. Wearing heels and dancing is not a good combo when you have 2 heavy babies sitting right at the front of your bump! Sore hips/legs and swollen this morning. But it was a lovely day.
Got to see my very good friends who's due about 2 weeks after me (my official due date) and lots of people told her she looked bigger than me, or that you couldn't tell I'm having 2.
I'm looking forward to a BBQ and a day of sitting in the garden today!

kyles101 · 01/06/2019 09:28

Off to the spa today - a full day of relaxing and pampering - bliss!!

Will deffo be looking at that site later @TheCraicDealer

26 weeks today!

boodles101 · 01/06/2019 10:15

Oooo that sounds lovely kyles enjoy!

TwittleBee · 01/06/2019 10:46

Super jealous of the spa day Kyles enjoy!

boodles hope you can rest up easy today after the wedding!

I'm so gonna check that site out craic - love looking at crazy stuff like that haha

I am so knackered! Spent the first part of this morning at a rugby session with DS and so basically had a mini work out with having to chase him and carry him about etc! Glad I can rest now though. This heat!!

excitednerves · 01/06/2019 10:52

So hot today! I’m heading out for a walk in the park then picking up some bargains I ordered from TK maxx, and that’s probably it! Chores and resting for the rest of the day!

excitednerves · 01/06/2019 10:53

Also very envious of the spa day @kyles101 enjoy!
