I didn't have a play with the Joie, but the guy in the pram shop seemed quite clued up and said basically the Nuna is the same basic frame, but the pimped up version. Better finish on the frame, better fold, better fabrics, better handle, just generally improved. He said the Joie is a good enough pram, but the Nuna is nice.

No to a baby shower, I've taken a day off work and organise months in advance to spend tommorrow with my closest mates (still not quite organised on where we are heading!). Few of us do shifts, most have kids/step kids and theres a bit of uncomfortable drama between my two best mates - years ago, both of them need to grow up, they know what I think! Dd we happened to do a few things the weeks I was started mat leave and had some lovely meet ups early on. Two friends have fertility problems, the last one someone held was years ago and already felt sad and awkward.

KnobJockey · 27/05/2019 20:32

I've ended up with the Baby Jogger City Tour Lux, after my local store had it on clearance with the pram, carry cot and car seat adaptors for £300- the pram alone is normally about £375.

It was hard to figure out which of my criteria were the most important:
Handy for dog walking
Lightweight
Folds small
Good quality
Small enough for shop walking
Longevity- a LOT of friends said they paid approx £1k, and used for a year or less as it just wasn't practical for throwing in the car, so ended up buying a buggy very quickly.

In the end I figured that everything but the dog walking could be achieved by one pram, but if I went for a dog walking pram they would inevitably be bigger. So I went for everything but the dog walking, with a view of buying a sling or if needs be a second hand cheap bigger pram.

Stroan · 27/05/2019 21:47

All this pram chat is almost making me wish I needed one...

26 weeks tomorrow (I think!) and I need a step to get into bed 🙈

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/05/2019 22:00

Im 26 weeks on thursday, i keep walking into things with the bump and opening doors into it Blush

Hsunshine · 27/05/2019 22:12

I don’t think I’ll have a baby shower then, I don’t particularly want one and no one is offering to throw one so doesn’t seem like I’d be missing out anyway

Hsunshine · 27/05/2019 22:13

I’m 26 and I feel like I’m not that big yet. Maybe I am just deluded

excitednerves · 27/05/2019 22:13

I’m 26 weeks tomorrow too! OMG that’s 6 months gone already. I’m loving my bump and finding it quite sad that you only have a proper bump for less than half your pregnancy. Loving feeling baby wriggling around too.

TwittleBee · 28/05/2019 05:56

24 weeks today 🎉 so happy to be here at viability stage!

kyles101 · 28/05/2019 06:42

@Hsunshine my SIL gave me a not so subtle nudge with her first so if you feel you would like one absolutely give someone a little hint. I just don't like the whole centre of attention thing, even with friends, I struggled at my hen, wedding wasn't as bad as I feared but still fear inducing!!

TwittleBee · 28/05/2019 07:30

That's not a bad point made by Kyles actually @Hsunshine . Maybe even organising something small would be nice? I thought I wasn't that bothered by a baby shower with DS but did feel like I missed out later.

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/05/2019 07:37

When i had ds1 (over 11 years ago) baby showers were not really a thing in the UK. Much more common now but not my cup of tea, also not loving the centre of attention thing!

25+5, the past couple of weeks have gone pretty quickly for me, fingers crossed it keeps it up!

Hsunshine · 28/05/2019 08:41

Maybe I will have a small girls get together instead with 4 of my friends

easterbuns1 · 28/05/2019 08:56

@Hsunshine that's what I'm going to do, one of my friends is a few weeks ahead of me so going to organise for 3 or 4 of us to have a nice meal out or something.

@IVEgottheDECAF I’ve done some more research and here are dimension comparisons.

Nuna Mixx:

  • Dimensions: L 83.2–90.9 x W 60.1 x H 111.2–114.2 cm
  • Dimensions (folded): L 88.8 x W 60.1 x H 56 cm
  • Weight: 12.53 kg

Ocarro:

  • Weight: 13.5kg (approx.)
  • Dimensions: H 110 x W 58 x L 96cm
  • Folded Size: H 37 x W 58 x L 76cm

Pioneer

  • Pioneer Dimensions Open: L 90 x W 60 x H 98-107cm
  • Pioneer Folded Dimensions: L86 x W 60 x H 34 cm
  • Pioneer Chassis Weight: 7.5 kg
  • Pioneer Body Weight: 2.5 kg

I think if you find the Ocarro too big the Mixx is slightly lighter but probably overall as bulky.

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/05/2019 09:18

Ty for that Megan!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 28/05/2019 15:18

DH and I are off to see Muse at the London Stadium this Saturday (tickets bought well before BFP). I’m not crazy right?! Will be sitting down thankfully but thinking about all that bass rumbling through bump and tiny ears ringing!

Florencenotflo · 28/05/2019 16:35

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri don't worry about it! Went to see Coldplay at about 30 weeks with dd1. Bump loved it! Lots of lovely kicks! Enjoy it!

Florencenotflo · 28/05/2019 16:37

And sorry to get TMI again but anyone else with leaky boobs yet??? Wtf is that about? I struggled to bf Dd 3 years ago. But my boobs have been killing me today. Went to the loo, gave them a bit of a squeeze because that usually helps! 😂 And I've leaked. Not massive amounts but enough for me to notice. A quick google shows it can be normal but this early! 27 weeks today!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 28/05/2019 17:05

Thanks for the reassurance @Florencenotflo!

Re leaky boobs, no I haven’t yet (although I squeezed a drop out about 6 months ago in the shower, which was about 10 months after I stopped breastfeeding DD and was really weird) although I haven’t given them a squeeze recently to check 😜.

My friend told me the other day that she started leaking with her second around 24-25 weeks (and needed breast pads) so think it may be par for the course unfortunately.

This has now reminded me of waking up for a few months after DD’s birth in a totally sweaty (hormones!), sticky mess with rock hard boobs. Not looking forward to that bit again!

kyles101 · 28/05/2019 17:13

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri we went to the o2 a couple of weeks ago and poor bump was quite subdued but fine the next day - I didn't really think about it but yes you can actually feel the bass at live venues! Whoops!

No leaking here yet... in fact they feel relatively normal after an initial growth and tender patch right at the beginning

TwittleBee · 28/05/2019 17:49

@Florencenotflo been leaking since day 1 here... but then I never really dried up from DS plus with the MCs too I think my hormones are just crazy. Got some lovely reusable breast pads which are comfy.

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri I wouldn't worry! My mum carried on following my dad around his gigs (and dancing front row) right up until she dropped with me. And I carried on going to festivals in the run up to DS (was 36 weeks at the last one I went to!)

BBell2 · 28/05/2019 18:20

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri dont work theres a lot of fluid in there to muffle the sound! I'm going to take that on Tuesday, not seated and suddenly apprehensive about it. And OH bought me Ed Sheeran tickets sometime really close to EDD also standing - do think we shall be selling those!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 28/05/2019 18:20

Thanks all! I’ve wanted to see muse for as long as I can remember. Will dance and sing with (hopefully) no worries and bump can enjoy the vibrations 😂

@TwittleBee I’m looking to get some reusable ones this time round - any brands you would recommend?

Tefiti2 · 28/05/2019 18:28

Ooh yes @twittlebee and anyone else who has used reusable breast pads, are there any ones you would recommend? I leaked for about 8 months the last time round so would definitely like to reduce waste on those.
