I use cheeky wipes for 2 year old ds but only for hands and faces, he has sensitive skin and wipes make him sore!

I need to get my MATB1, and book my whooping cough (said this before on here)! Will try and do both tomorrow.

Think i will be claiming maternity allowence as too much time on sick during qualifying period

boodles101 · 02/05/2019 20:19

I think I must also have a big f off on my forehead as no one touches my bump either. Never had anyone with DS either.
Although my DH has a tendency to just rub my belly when we are standing in a queue for example, but his arm length reaches quite a bit lower and can sometimes look like he's just touching me up lol.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/05/2019 20:43

I have resting bitch face. People dont touch me

Karigan195 · 02/05/2019 21:28

@Stroan. If you look on amazon they have cheeky wipes. Scrolling down to where they do that often purchased with I found a set with two waterproof little bags.

GemmaJen · 02/05/2019 22:36

@TheCraicDealer yes, I love that mural. I think that's what dh has in mind. Hopefully it'll look half as good, lol. We've got quite a few alpaca toys and pillows so hoping it'll all come together nicely. Just need to get started!

challengeyourreality · 03/05/2019 08:09

@GemmaJen I have a hole where a piercing was, I got it done as pure rebellion at 15 but it never suited me so didn't last long. It's never ripped open during pregnancy but it has been stretched dangerous close to doing so and I have a 10cm stretch mark that pulls from where the piercing was just because the skin there is so tight. I hate to admit but my DM had every right to refuse to condone that piercing Grin
@Duffya93 this DC3. What about you? Love that you describe the baby area as dreamy, I am going for more fantasty stimulating than whimsical though, so dreamy with a touch of adventure.
Enjoying the interior chat very much.
@TheCraicDealer that's a very cool mural

challengeyourreality · 03/05/2019 08:16

I have had 1 person ask to feel my bump, my son's preschool teacher. I liked it as no one has ever asked - It is an enormous big ball on me so I'm surprised as I'm sure it's inviting... Wouldn't be comfortable with a stranger touching it.

BBell2 · 03/05/2019 09:37

Ewww no, no one it touching my bump! Only OH did last time and only DD has this. I dont think anyone would dare.

Megan2018 · 03/05/2019 09:40

I had a colleague (who is also a friend) ask if she could touch - she is the only one that has.
DH is too freaked out to touch now I've popped! I hope that will change when he can feel kicks.
I don't mind people asking though.

Whisky2014 · 03/05/2019 09:44

I've not had anyone touch or ask to touch
And actually when I've felt baby move alot I've told husband to feel. He will and smiles at 1 kick but then takes his hand back. I thought he'd want to feel a few.

barberstreisand · 03/05/2019 10:03

No one has asked to touch my bump yet, but that’s probably because I don’t look pregnant at all!.

challengeyourreality · 03/05/2019 10:25

@Whisky2014 DH is the same, one kick and he is satisfied. I love him and DCs touching it but my belly button is sticking all the way out now and I have asked them to please never touch that as it feels all wrong!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 03/05/2019 10:41

Gahhh to the belly button popping out! I managed to get to about 34 weeks last time before it popped all the way out - then I had to stick a plaster over it because it freaked me out so much.

This time it’s already on its way out — far too soon!! 🤢 Belly button took ages to de-saggify after last pregnancy so I’m not too hopeful of it going back to normal this time round.

Whisky2014 · 03/05/2019 10:54

Do belly buttons always pop out?

I'm just back on nappy lady. Can't help myself! 're. Washable wipes, do you wet these for cleaning bums and if so, is it just cold water? I think I read something she keeps her a In a Tupperware moist but I thought I'd just use cosy water? Suppose normal wipes are cold aren't they.
I already had 10 nappies, wondering how many I actually need in total. Hmmm

Karigan195 · 03/05/2019 10:56

I’ve just been researching this and there are options. Some store dry and just keep water in the changing bag. Some are storing damp and taking two wet bags. The cheeky wipe kit comes with a tub for this purpose. And some are using chamomile tea, little violets and other liquids for the damp part and tea tree oil in the dirty bag.

mommaf · 03/05/2019 11:05

I am concerned but excited. Im thinking about getting a tattoo with her name on it too! Maybe ill get a temporary one first

Whisky2014 · 03/05/2019 11:07

Ok im thinking I could just use one of my own Tupperware tubs I have right now. What do the oils do? Is it purely for a small purpose?

sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops · 03/05/2019 11:18

Hi everyone! I'm a bit late to the party but I'm 20 weeks & have my anomaly scan later today (4pm). With DD, we had significant issues detected at the scan so I'm panicking Sad we still haven't told family/friends in case today is bad news.

Whisky2014 · 03/05/2019 11:18

Right, that's my second and final order in to nappy lady. Got a bucket, 4 nappies (bringing total to 14), washable wipes, and a planetiwse wet bag.

So in total between my two orders I have spent £285. Think that's not bad actually. Just blooming hope they work and fit ok!

Whisky2014 · 03/05/2019 11:19

@sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops im sure all will be ok, try not to worry. Good luck and let us know how you get on xx

Karigan195 · 03/05/2019 11:23

@Whisky2014. I think it depends on the type. A lot of people are saying things like washing in chamomile tea soothes bottoms etc. It seems you need to try and use a real nappy friendly bum cream as well.

Still figuring it out myself but if you join Babi Pur Hangout in Facebook there are tons of threads on things like this.

Megan2018 · 03/05/2019 11:28

You can use any container for storing wet if you like. But yes you can just wet them as you use them. I just figure at night it is one less thing to do though!

I was planning to store wet at home and see how I go, dirty will go in the nappy bucket. Not using any oils as they irritate my eczema on hands!

Not decided what to do out and about yet. I have got a wet bag for changing bag so dirty not an issue. But not sure about whether to take wet clean or dry. Or just use disposable.

I got 40 wipes as they were cheap, they are a good size. I am too lazy to make my own although I’m sure it is easy enough.

Nappy lady has a video on her youtube about wipes showing what she does.

Megan2018 · 03/05/2019 11:42

I read that nappy cream shouldn't be used routinely but only if they need it - and then they recommend a paper liner to protect the nappy fibres. But there are some cloth friendly ones like Calendula (which I already have as use it on the horse sometimes Grin) so I reckon I'll just get more of that.

Karigan195 · 03/05/2019 11:58

I got a pack of twenty five with two rather cute little waterproof bags from amazon for £17. Thought that was alright.

DustyDoorframes · 03/05/2019 12:17

@sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops i can't imagine how nerve wracking that must be! The odds are absolutely in your favour. Lots and lots of good wishes.
@Whisky2014 the oils stop the damp wipes going mildewed if you don't use them within a day or so. If you are using washable wipes but not nappies the oils in the dirty box kill anything lurking, so you can just chuck them in an ordinary 30-40 wash with clothes. If you don't want to store them damp you can just run a handful under a warm tap for each change (you only need a few usually) and then pop any leftovers in the box for the next change, they won't mildew that quick! Some people keep a spray bottle to hand and spritz them as they go.
@Megan2018 we started out using the washable wipes out and about but I lost a batch of them in their wee bag when DC1 was about 6 months and we just used packets of water wipes after that...
