Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

AM SO ANNOYED NOW!

Been to midwives. They won't do a sweep till next week and won't book an induction till the following week. I'll be 42+1 before they do anything serious.

I hate them. I've known I've been pregnant since I was 3 weeks. I can't wait any longer. I was expecting next week and had come to terms with that but to throw another week on the top is just horrible.

I wonder whether I can demand an induction.

Cakehead · 31/07/2007 20:36

Hello ladies, congratulations to you, Kyte - sorry that you had a bit of an ordeal. And Typhoon - come on, girl, get that baby moving! Really feel for you last few waiting, especially now the weather's warming up. Will be sending positive vibes your way! August babies. Who'd have thought. Still, you've got three and a bit hours...

justbeme · 31/07/2007 20:53

No pressure then Cakehead!!
Just popping by to see how you all are -
sorry to hear about your birth Kyte - he really didnt want to come out did he??
Congrats to everyone else

lynnec · 31/07/2007 21:38

Kyte, hope you and lo are okay.
like most, ive been shopping all day, dont care if the waters break, last week i was a bit worried to go too far from the house or out on my own...now ive past worrying.
Dh says if the lo is as laid back as myself and him it will never be out of there and im starting to think hes right!!! Everytime i go to see gp or mw its little head is engaged then that evening its head is almost popping out my side or above my stomache, so nothing happening here for me for a while yet, think i'll have to stick my 12 days out then be induced....that should be round about 8th or 9thAug, by then dh holidays are up and hes got to go back to work

I hope you are all well and didnt spend too much money whilst shopping.

Beyonceen · 31/07/2007 22:22

woohoo! I had my baby!!!
(sorry girls)to those that are waiting.

Waters went on Saturday night at midnight (during some nooky!!) went to hosp and contractions started at 3ish. was in labour til 11.29 on Sunday when Toby Marcus Benjamin arrived!!! all 9lb 10 oz. (ouch). Most painful labour yet but he is so so so beautiful. Gas and air and a bit of morphine which didn't do anything for me. Long haul but so worth it. We are back home and settling in. dd and dh in love with him too.
Good luck girls if you're still there.

Good luck everyone.

Hi everyone! Kyte - just read your birth story, sounds like a tough one. just wanted to say it sounds like you are doing really well and hope he gets the hang of the bf soon. big pat on the back to you and nicholas

lynnec · 01/08/2007 21:56

Hi everyone!! Any more lo arrived today???
Agnes what about you????
I spoke with gp today, told her hospitals plan to leave me until 8th or 9th, she said no way, ive to ask tomorrow to be induced, so i'm up for that! She explained the baby puts on half a pound each week from now on, and as i have a big baby in there, she'd rather it was out as soon as.So now i'll have to do my best to plead with dr and mw to be induced...we'll see how it goes

Hope everyones keeping ok. x

Myfairone · 02/08/2007 08:45

Morning all, just checking over here to see who is left....I know how frustrated you all must be by now and I'm grateful that I went a few days early....all that said, try and enjoy the quiet while you can and if you bought anything thats still in a box...get it out and read the instructions because believe me, trying to read how to use something when you have a screaming baby is no fun at all!

I have had real family problems this week (can you believe that my DH and Mother picked this week to have the biggest bust up ever!!!!) He has now said she isnt welcome here and shes crying on the phone to me....I need this like a hole in the head!
Hey ho, I guess it will sort itself out.

I am thinking of you all and in a few days you will all be over on the post natal thread

Dumbledorf · 02/08/2007 09:13

Hi everyone!

Well, guess what? I'm not pregnant anymore! baby born on Friday at 11.20pm after a 12 hours of labour, 6 at home, then mad dash to hospital when my waters went and there was meconium. All ok in the end, baby born by ventouse, 8lb 7 and absolutely stunning!!! Am entirely in love with her!

Had to stay in hosp til Tues as she didn'tbf properly for a bit, probably cos of the drugs and the birth, but we are doinggreat now and I can't believe how much Ilove being her Mum!

Will read everyone else's posts now and see how you all are, good luck everyone still waiting!!!

LieselVentouse · 02/08/2007 09:49

Aww congrats - whats her name and can we see pics?

typhoonsmum · 02/08/2007 10:57

Hiya.

Decided to take a long walk to Tesco yesterday to do some shopping in the hope it may shift the baby. All it resulted in was achy muscles today and being absolutley worn out yesterday. Still no sign of LO.

Hiya.

Wee boy arrived in a rush yesterday morning. Spent the night dealing with sedate if somewhat painful contractions. Waters broke at seven thirty and everything went a bit hectic. From losing them to birthing the boy was just over two hours. He was in a hurry

I'm too knackered to type much, hope everyone is well and that you're all taking care of yourselves.

Agnes

Chooster · 02/08/2007 16:45

Good luck to those still waiting - its tough near the end isn't it.

Kyte - Sorry to hear that Nicholas's birth was a bit traumatic - we were worried about you as you'd been missing for a while. Glad that its all on the up now.

Chooster · 02/08/2007 16:46

Oooh, congratulations Agnes

lynnec · 02/08/2007 17:17

congratulations Agnes!!!
Been to mw today and im booked in for induction sund morn she did do a membrane sweep...does anyone know if this works???

typhoonsmum · 02/08/2007 18:10

Lynne I'm so jealous. You are only two days ahead of me and your midwifes are prepared to do an induction a WHOLE WEEK before mine!

Congrats Agnes and Good Luck to everyone in pain at the moment!

lynnec · 02/08/2007 19:45

typhoonsmum, wasnt sure she was going to though, i did mention i spoke with gp and she advised me to ask for induction asap, mw asked why, i said i was starting to get fed up, swollen fingers and feet, she said they wouldnt take that into consideration given my pg was so good and havent had any complications, she said she'd monitor lo for 20mins if any signs of stress then they'd consider, all was well after the 20 mins.
she said she'd take a look at scan, if there was very little fluid surrounding baby then they would also take that into consideration, at scan they said baby knew what it was suppose to do as head was engaged but it was going know-where given the amount of fluid surrounding it.
My last hope was if my cervix was ready then they would induce no problem...it was its not that i want the lo out in a hurry, its due to dh going back to work on Wed, thats his 3 weeks holiday finished he took it early as gps told me theres no way im going full term so now times up and this lo must come out

So you had to fight for your induction then. I have no valid reason to want an induction early. DP isn't on holiday or working away or anything so I think I'll just accept that I will probably win the leaderboard. If they have their way I'll be 40+15 before they induce me.

Going to soft play with DD again this morning if MIL doesn't interfere. My sister is free from children for the morning so she is coming with me. As DD starts full time school in September I am going to revive my school textile lessons and make her a P.E. kit bag. That is my project to take my mind of the stubborn baby!

huskygirl · 03/08/2007 13:08

hi all. i'm still pregnant still fed up and need this baby OUT! Am booked in for induction on Sunday morning 8am if nothing has happened. Had membrane sweep on Tuesday but it did nowt!

lynnec · 03/08/2007 16:28

huskygirl, im also sunday at 8, so all the best! Had sweep yesterday at 12, had period type pain all through the night and today, but still nothing...so guess mine didnt work either. Ive to go into hosp Sat 4pm for a tablet????This is to soften the cervix...anyone know if that tablet does anything else???

Hope you are all well x
