Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Have completely failed to get onto the computer until now - but I think I have a good excuse!!! Since my post last Friday when labour had really kicked in, I am very proud to announce the birth of Orlena Jane, who weighed in at 8lbs at 12:01am on Saturday 14th July. She is the most gorgeous thing ever, but we had a bit of a shaky start. A traumatic birth for us both led to an extended hospital stay, but all seems to be well now. Things didn't really go as I had planned but none of that matters - we have our little angel at last and it's the best feeling in the world .

I have no idea what has been happening with everyone else, but a big congratulations to all the new arrivals and a good luck for all those still waiting - it really is worth the wait!!

Am looking forward to joing you now on the post natal thread!

Myfairone · 20/07/2007 20:53

Catstar - Huge congratulations...sorry to hear it was very traumatic but glad to hear that all is well now. Enjoy your new arrival and well done!

Congratulations Bilblio and Cupcakes, and hope Kyte's doing well!

Well after my gloom and doom yesterday, it all turned out a bit differently from how I'd expected and Anna was born at home at 5.04pm and just 5lb 9oz, weeny! I am still gobsmacked at it all as it was an absolute textbook birth and things went really moothly and naturally. At 3.30pm I texted a friend to say that the midwife thought it would be that day but that I didn't believe her! They never bothered to get the gas and air out of the car as they thought I didn't need it so it all happened with paracetamol and a tens. After writing a detailed instruction manual for ds and lining up lots of babysitters, he was there throughout completely unfazed (apart from a brief spell in the kitchen with dh who was making flapjack for everyone) and kept trying to hand me raisins, and when she was born he shouted "Baby!" and ran off to get some toy cars to show her...

Hope everyone else is doing well, it won't be long and it's worth the wait!

Miaou · 20/07/2007 22:17

Congratulations Groveregg! What a lovely tiny bundle . Glad it all went so well and lol at your ds's antics!

Oooh MrKyte - things are really getting going now!! I'm not jealous, oooh no I'm not ....

Congrats all, morning all.

Am bouncing.......

I'm REALLY hungry but indigestion is horrendous so don't feel like eating. I know I need something nutritious, but right now everything seems to have an acid price tag. Banana. Think I'll have a banana.

Dumbledorf · 21/07/2007 05:27

Morning everyone,
Congratulations, catstar, groveregg and Powersparkle!!

Go Kyte! Looking forward to more updates!

Good news on the house JAM!

Have been awake since 3.30, really blummin bored, contemplating going to asda to buy HP book -would it just be full of grumpy pregnant, insomniac women browsing the magnum section?

Have booked acupuncture session for tues in the hope that having that and 2nd sweep on same day may move things along.....

Hope some of you had a good nights sleep and even a baby!!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 21/07/2007 05:34

Dumbledorf - Why get somebody to stick needles in you when you can get them to massage your feet? Reflexology was fab by the way.

Dumbledorf · 21/07/2007 05:37

Oooh, really?

Just trying to avoid potential induction next Sat. Am I imagining that there is a labour inducing reflexology point on your foot?

Did you have the reflexology to get things moving baby wise or just to relax?

JennsterSlugSlayer · 21/07/2007 05:39

Both! Yes. Stupidly I should have asked her where it was but didn't. I believe there is one on your ankle too. Right now am fiddling with my nipples. Have you tried that? It really bloody hurts when the cramps get going.

Dumbledorf · 21/07/2007 05:45

Have been trying the ankle one for last few nights and i think if you do a circular motion on the skin between your thumb and finger that's supposed to work too.

Not really been doiong the nipple thing - bit painful and also read some alarming stuff about it which scared me a bit - supposed to be v powerful!!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 21/07/2007 05:47

Just been googling where to rub and this was the top link so maybe you are right. Still a foot massage when you've got swollen ankles can't harm.

JennsterSlugSlayer · 21/07/2007 05:48

Might be all you need to get things going though?

Dumbledorf · 21/07/2007 05:52

Cheers, there's other stuff around on Mn too. My lovely knitting friends got me vouchers for posh beauty place a few weeks ago so maybe I'll indulge in massage on mon just to help with the old relaxation too! was going to save them for post birth treat, but maybe I need this more. Will also be mithering dh for big foot rub later today!!

Right, am going to attempt to go back to bed and get some sleep! Nice to have some company at this grim hour!! Maybe we should start a wide awake club thread!!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 21/07/2007 05:55

Night night then. You will struggle to find time for a massage in the next month, get it in NOW!
