@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I’ve put on a stone and 6 pounds and I’ve used an online calculator to see if I’m about in the right boundaries and I am. I’ve definitely been eating less nutritional food because it’s all I ever fancy so I’ve been really trying to curb that in the last week. Try not to worry just make the best food choices you can manage and other than that there’s not a lot you can do, every body is different and that’s what I’m trying to keep in mind as much as possible.

Yukka · 25/03/2019 22:17

@gaymummy should to be if turn 40 before due date they will automatically induce due to other risks with age. But agree with others ivf shouldn’t be a reason so ask midwife.

I’m 8lbs up on weight which is what I lost in the first few weeks. I deff feel slimmer around my chest and back but with s reasonable bump so hopefully all the weight is baby (my bmi was 26.5)

Work - blah. I’m so over it! Im interviewing for my interim replacement this week hope to find someone quick and get the handover started.

BeckyButterfly · 25/03/2019 22:32

I’m currently having a similar situation to @AIDE2424 with baby’s movements. I only just started to feel movements on Wednesday (anteria placenta) but once I started feeling them, they were really strong. As in my husband felt them too by Friday night. On Saturday night all I felt was little bubble sensations then last night and today I haven’t noticed anything 😕
All this movement stuff is so unnerving. I know that if I ring the assessment unit they will just say that my movement isn’t regular yet but it’s still worrying!

BeckyButterfly · 25/03/2019 22:32

Anterior** my phone hates that word!!

AIDE2424 · 26/03/2019 05:47

@BeckyButterfly such a worry isnt it, baby will just be hiding like my money was. I would still give triage/maternity unit a ring just to see what they say they. How far are you now? Hope baby gets a wiggle on today!xx

BeckyButterfly · 26/03/2019 07:35

@AIDE2424 it really is. I ended up giving MAU a call last night and they were really nice actually. She just said it’s perfectly normal at this stage to have bouts of less movement but to call back if I was worried. She did say I was more than welcome to go in but I think I’ll just ring my community midwife today to see if she could check her heartbeat otherwise I’ll be travelling 45 mins to the hospital when I’m pretty sure she is just playing hide and seek 😂
I’m 23 weeks tomorrow and only just started feeling any movement at all last week so I’ll keep an eye on her and I’ll see what my midwife says.

Giraffe888 · 26/03/2019 08:32

I hope baby is more active for you today @beckybutterfly x

Onestep2 · 26/03/2019 10:58

@forloveofdoghnuts im 26 weeks and have put on about a stone. Was panicing baout it but i looked it up and its perfectly normal at this stage.

@beckybutterfly ive got an anterior placenta as well and can reall only feel the baby round the sides of my tummy but defo getting good big kicks and tumbles and i find it helps (if you remember) to note down times when you feel the baby.

Glad that your MAU are so nice. my MW basically said that if i was to call up with reduced movements before around 28 weeks they wouldnt really do much..... not very reasurring is it.

and the Saga of bump touchers contuines.... DHs gran is the worst. i bumped into her yesterday in tesco and she full on RUBBED by belly. picture one hand on small of my back and the other full on rubbing my belly. like no. plz stop. actually cannot deal.

Jxtina86 · 26/03/2019 11:42

I have the Kicks Count app which is fab for noting down movements and seeing patterns emerge. They also do a wristband that you can adjust to note movements if you don't have your phone to hand.

Just got back from 25 week appt and all seems well. Need to keep my iron intake up to help with my occasional dizzy spells and they'll check them on 28 week bloods just in case.

Capybaras · 26/03/2019 11:54

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I'm 25 weeks today and put on 1 stone 2lbs. Apparently this is a bit over what I should be at this stage as I started off overweight but not massively off. Doesn't help that I'm constantly snacking so I'm not sick! Starting to get slight heartburn after eating now - not too bad at the moment though! And still constipated - the joys!

thedust · 26/03/2019 12:25

I've put on 1.5 stone Shock I feel huge, I'm 24 weeks. I'm only short too. My BMI was ok at the booking in appointment, 23 I think. I've got my glucose tolerance test next week, the amount of weight I've put on is making me paranoid about that. I should just stop weighing myself and listen to the medical professionals!

RooKangaroo · 26/03/2019 13:53

@Jxtina86, that app sounds interesting. Does it recommend from when you should start using it?

BirthdayKake · 26/03/2019 13:54

@wombatron I'm planning a home birth

Jxtina86 · 26/03/2019 14:00

@RooKangaroo I downloaded it around 22 weeks and started tracking then. Don't think there's any hard and fast rule though. I follow them on Instagram too and they've got so much useful info about movement etc. You can also input your midwife contact info on the app too so if you have concerns you can dial directly from there rather than trying to find it in your contacts etc

SnailorSwift · 26/03/2019 14:49

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I've not put on any weight so far. I've fluctuated within 5lbs though so lost 5lbs in first 14 weeks and now I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight.

It's different for everyone though and I know looking at myself in the mirror I've lost muscle and gained fat so the scale isn't always the best indicator 🤷🏼‍♀️

twickersmumtobe · 26/03/2019 15:09

I've not been able to stop crying on and off for the last 12+ hours. I have no reason to be crying, other than a little stress at work. I'm not normally a crying type person. Do any of you relate to this as i feel like I'm going slightly crazy?

SnailorSwift · 26/03/2019 15:14

Aww @twickersmumtobe you def aren't the only one I've been bawling on and off for weeks!

I am a cryer anyway 😂 but definitely much more frequent than usual!

Blame the hormones and be gentle with yourself 💕

OneMoreWish · 26/03/2019 17:10

I hadn't weighed myself , tum defo bigger but people also saying I look slimmer overall ?

I still cry easily but it was the same with first pregnancy

I'm also still getting spots sigh

I'm defo not the beautiful blooming pregnant you see in adverts!

thedust · 26/03/2019 18:17

I've been having such a pity party today and crying! Hormones are raging. My PGP is really bad, I'm full of a cold and thought I had a fever. Went out and bought a thermometer and I don't thankfully, still feel like shit though. My throat is so sore. My friend who is due a few days before me has had a baby shower arranged for her by her best friend and sister. My weekend away with my friends has been cancelled because a friend has broken her leg and she was going to drive. I don't think I'll have anyone offering to arrange a baby shower for me and as stupid as it sounds that makes me sad and jealous. I think it's just everything getting on top of me combined and the PGP is really taking away my independence. I can't even do any cleaning around the house or help decorate the nursery. It would be finished now if I could help. Got my glucose tolerance test next week and I'm worrying about it too.

Anyone else not enjoying pregnancy like they thought they would and then feel guilty about it? I'm loving buying clothes and fun bits and can't wait to meet her and love feeling her kick, but all the other crap can just do one.

Giraffe888 · 26/03/2019 19:40

What’s the glucose tolerance test a few of you have mentioned and why is it a worry? When do you have it?

thedust · 26/03/2019 19:47

@giraffe888 it's a test for gestational diabetes, you only get referred onto it if you've been identified as high risk for developing it so not everyone has the test. Usually between 24 and 28 weeks. It tests how well your body processes sugar - one blood test on an empty stomach in the morning, a very sugary drink then another blood test 2 hours later to check your blood sugar level change. Gestational diabetes can cause a few complications - big birth weight, excess amniotic fluid, premature labour, pre-eclampsia.

BeckyButterfly · 26/03/2019 19:53

@twickersmumtobe I’m right there with you on the crying. I never really cry but since being pregnant, particularly during this trimester, I’ve bawled like a baby over the slightest thing!

Giraffe888 · 26/03/2019 19:54

Thanks @thedust what identifies you as high risk for it?

AIDE2424 · 26/03/2019 20:13

I’ve been emotional too, I’m back to work tomorrow for 2 over night stays and I’ve cried about it tonight packing my case to go. Works really unsettled at the minute and I’m not enjoying it. But I also cry over the smallest things.

I have my GTT on the 24th hoping I don’t have it 🤞🏻

thedust · 26/03/2019 20:31

@giraffe888 mine is because I've got PCOS (although not all trusts count that as a risk factor) but things like a high BMI, parents having diabetes, gestational diabetes in previous pregnancies or heavy babies are risk factors too. Sometimes you get referred for a GTT after monitoring at the regular midwife appointments, my sister got referred for one in her last pregnancy because her bump was measuring big.

Let's all cry it out together! I cried the other day on the phone to the physio booking my appointment.
