Thanks everyone. Helps to know other normally sane women are feeling emotional as well. I think I need to create some projects for myself which I can do sitting down...!

So glad this is just a 4day week. Starting to do 8-4 + 1 day from home now, that should help 🤞

@twinkleday Our NCT starts on Sunday, so excited!

stephn88 · 22/04/2019 21:14

@TwinkleDay I'm in the U.K., was a chilly evening last week 😁

We don't have our nct classes until 8th June! Got my GTT tomorrow, at 8.15am. I'm hungry already! 😂

OneMoreWish · 22/04/2019 22:01

Yikes I had a nosebleed this morning. Didn't last long but I've never really had them and it surprised me as I was still in bed. I googled to check it was normal and was mostly reaassured until I came across an article about HELLP- anyone else heard of that? I started checklisting, well I am pretty tired, my ribs have been hurting, I do feel run down, I've noticed a few bruises that I don't remember how I got. Had to take a deep breath and tell myself not to imagine the worst over a small nose bleed. Does anyone else do this?

This pregnancy has just kept me on its toes with the brown bleeding for first 8 weeks and then the four red bleeds from 14 weeks - guess it made me realise I won't relax properly until baby here.

Aldi baby sale starts Thursday but you. Can order online from Wednesday, I would recommend the sleeping bags if anyone thinking of using them- they are a fraction of the cost that you would find elsewhere and sell out quick.

Xx

Kentishgal · 23/04/2019 08:51

onemorewish I can see why you'd panic as I'd be exactly the same but from an objective perspective, they're all just symptoms you could have anyway (I'm always covered in bruises etc). Just mention to midwife to reassure you. Not particularly emotional, just shattered and achey - not sure why but I can't really stand or bend for long - find it do frustrating as have so much to do - didn't have that last time at all. Went out on the tractor on Saturday and immediately regretted it - it bounced me around everywhere - although expect it would help in bringing on labour - should have thought of that the first time round when I was eating copious amounts of pineapple.

OneMoreWish · 23/04/2019 15:21

Thanks @Kentishgal 😘

I think my baby is lying sideways at the moment as my stomach gets really sore either side like it's stretched too much and the baby also likes kicking a lot too!

I've booked a 4d scan in a couple of weeks and can't wait :)

Capybaras · 23/04/2019 21:18

Hope everyone had a good Easter weekend! 29 weeks now and 8 weeks left in work ( not that I'm counting...)

TMI question now, is anyone's bits (aka Labia) swollen up? Noticed it in the shower yesterday and had to get DH to check (what a loving scene that was Grin). I've googled and it says it's normal but wasn't expecting it at all! The joys!
Otherwise all good, just standard tiredness and aching back!
Seen that there's a few baby events going on this week so going to have a look and see if we can pick up some bargains.

Yukka · 23/04/2019 22:37

@onemorewish mine was sideways too until about a week ago and then it’s head moved right under my belly button, but had lots of aches and pains at the sides. Seems to rotate regularly now.

@capybaras yes I noticed the same just a few days ago, was worried at first as I’ve had benign labial lumps before which need surgical removal but it’s not that it’s just swelling. Dr google and my app says it’s due to increased blood flow...

Giraffe888 · 24/04/2019 08:49

Morning ladies

How are you all? It’s my day off today and I’ve got physio at 10.30. Hoping it’s helpful! X

Kentishgal · 24/04/2019 12:29

Just had my 28 week appointment with midwife - not seen her since 20 weeks and now don't see her again till 36 weeks - just seems really infrequent! Had to drive 40 miles to hospital for the blood test and then they struggled to get the blood out - on the sixth attempt they got a tiny bit out so they said they'll ask the lab to process it but I might get called back - typical - silly veins!

Kentishgal · 24/04/2019 13:36

Actually just checked and the next appointment is for a couple of days before I'm 37 weeks - I'll be having my elcs at 39 at the latest so seems a little odd!

StargazyDrifter · 24/04/2019 13:48

Gah the blood thing is frustrating! I'm not even that squeamish but that would really test my patience, Kentishgal.

I'm having a super slow week at work, quite a few people are still off and I'm not exactly finding the will to be proactive in their absence.

Definitely with the others on the labia. Another TMI q - increased levels of discharge, is that a thing? I'm at a stage now where I have permanently damp knickers. 😳

Kentishgal · 24/04/2019 14:16

stsrgazydrifter I'm a bit of a wimp - passed out on fifth attempt - haven't done that in years!! Yes I have been getting more as well - actually was just googling - midwife said there were leucocytes in my urine which she said was nothing to worry about - but Google says in pregnancy you have more discharge which can cause them to be present (apparently) so maybe it's the extra discharge! Lovely! Baby has hiccups at the moment - my first had them loads.

Capybaras · 24/04/2019 14:34

@StargazyDrifter oh god yeah - so much discharge! I'm wearing panty liners and having to change it midway through the day. Lovely!

Hope the physio was useful @Giraffe888

I have so little motivation for work right now - I didn't realise you could go off from 29 weeks! As much as I don't want to be in work right now I think I'd be pretty bored to have so much time off (and skint!). Only have 3 paydays left before mat leave now, and still a fair bit to buy!

Had a look at the boots baby event and disappointed - just seems to be loads of food!

Capybaras · 24/04/2019 14:36

Wow that seems like a long time @Kentishgal - I take it this isn't your first? Think I've got appointments every fortnight now as it's my first.

Kentishgal · 24/04/2019 14:43

capybaras - I didn't know you could go off from 29 weeks....tempting isn't it!! As you can tell, I'm struggling to apply myself so I'm task avoiding...despite having my annual review tomorrow...I know it's bad but I've sort of lost the will to care! No not my first - but only my second (and last!) - was just hoping someone would measure me or something in between (or hold my hand and soothe my brow - that sort of thing)!

Capybaras · 24/04/2019 15:28

I think I've done the bare minimum today - just answering emails and doing some filing - brain isn't engaged for proper tasks!

That seems like such a long time between appointments - I thought they'd have to have more frequent just for testing for pre-eclampsia etc

I feel like I've been pregnant forever now. Less than 11 weeks to go (if baby comes on time) but that feels like such a long time! Having so many questions on if we're all prepared etc, I'm like nope! Loads to do, loads to buy, plenty of time! Will probably come back and bite me in the arse Grin

blueeyedviking · 24/04/2019 17:07

@kentishgal that seems very strange. I also have midwife every 2/3 weeks now...!

@capybaras I feel exactly the same. Have 11 weeks to go but a lot that needs buying. Just don't have the energy to make decisions yet. Need to dedicate some time to it on Friday I think.

I've got my spinal consultant on Friday and another scan to check my bleed so hopefully both go well.

Does anyone get hot flushes? I keep on getting them at the most random times.

BeckyButterfly · 24/04/2019 20:35

@blueeyedviking I'm hot all the time! Particularly at work 😩

I agree about work. I couldn't care less about it 😂 I'm doing the absolute bare minimum and loving it haha.

stephn88 · 24/04/2019 21:01

Same as you all in regards to work, I have to do sleep in shifts on my own though and I am starting to find them tough..... some of our guys like to get up at all hours and do the most random things! 😭

Has anyone decided on names yet? We're having a boy and we are really struggling to even find one we love! We were set on Teddy, Theodore for full name, but I'm starting to change my mind..... it's such a responsibility naming another human! Lol

StargazyDrifter · 24/04/2019 22:10

Aww baby hiccups sound so cute. 😍

Also no energy here for work or buying stuff. We have a new person in the team and they are super keen and want to know about everything and I'm like 😴.

Good to know about the discharge. I've no MW appts booked, all seems to have disintegrated, need to follow up with the MW office tomorrow when I go for my GTT.

Names - totally get it about the responsibility. We have two favourite girls' names but no middle names yet.

Jxtina86 · 24/04/2019 22:51

I have no energy for work either but at the same time, I have so much to do in terms of handover but the day-to-day grind leaves little time for me to it properly. Only another 5 weeks to get through and then it'll be a distant memory...!

Got my GTT results back at my midwife appt yesterday and was all good thankfully. Also found out why my 28 week bloods were messed up - they mis-spelled my name...! Had a lovely hour and half wait this morning at the blood walk-in to get them re-done but thankfully the lady who did them was so good I hardly felt a thing - I want her next time please!

We haven't got any new names on the list - we're keeping our options open with around 3-4 for each sex and decide when baby makes it's arrival! Middle names have always been sorted - James for boy and Kristina for girl as both our families have a tradition of passing down middle names, although I've decided to change my spelling of 'Ch' to 'K' which my mum said was the original spelling back in the day.

Our pram arrived today so spent this evening putting it together and testing it out around the living room lol. Most importantly it fits through the front door with plenty of wiggle room!

thedust · 25/04/2019 07:28

@stephn88 Theodore was on our boys list, I like it. We are having a girl though, I did find boys names harder.

We are away at the moment in Turkey. We were sat on the beach discussing names yesterday, I think we have a favourite but we're waiting to meet her.

When I go back to work I've got 5 weeks left too. I've also got so many random days of holiday and all the May bank holidays I'm going to feel like I'm a part-timer! Don't think I'll be very productive. In the 2nd trimester I was very focused and motivated because I didn't want work to think I had baby brain. Now everything is so much effort and all I can think about is baby things!

thedust · 25/04/2019 07:32

Oh and I've been wearing panty liners for weeks, TMI but I ended up with a bit of a rash down there from the dampness, kind of like nappy rash! Bigger knickers, panty liners and some sudocrem cleared it up though and the panty liners have been helping since. Now I've got chafing thighs to deal with, ultrabalm from Lush has been helping with that and I've read you can use it as a nipple cream too. Isn't pregnancy so glamourous?!

JSCRJ · 25/04/2019 07:46

Another one not really feeling work motivated here. I was also determined for people not to think I have baby brain but I keep forgetting to do things, so maybe they would be better to think that it's the baby and not that I've just become a bit incapable before I leave for months!

What week does everyone finish work? I'm working through until the end of week 37, although I'm cutting down to four days a week for the final few weeks. It still feels so long away, and I'm already wishing I was finishing earlier!

Hope you're having a great holiday @thedust ! Are you finding the heat ok?

stephn88 · 25/04/2019 07:47

I think waiting to meet him is the answer to the name problem too Grin

Work have been up and down with me, supportive one minute and a nightmare the next. It's a very physical job and they just don't seem to understand sometimes. Only 6 weeks to go so can't grumble I suppose lol!

I've been seeing lots of talk about a liquid talc powder that ASDA sell, apparently it's amazing for chaffing so I'm going to invest in some!
