Omg @Jscrj that dog story is making me well up 😭

Sat in the waiting room for my glucose tolerance test, had the bloods and drink and just waiting now. Feel a bit light headed and headachey, not having breakfast has been horrible. About another hour to go.

SerenaOverjoyed · 03/04/2019 10:33

Sorry all! I was so knackered on Friday I completely forgot I posted about being in Triage Blush Everything is fine I think, they just used a doppler and said I was dehydrated. Apparently being dehydrated gives bab less fluid to swim in. Who knew? They said if this happens again they'll scan me but they aren't worried for now. They were honest that at 24 weeks if baby was in distress there's not much they could do, it's not like they could easily induce me. Movements have been good since.

I had to wait 4hrs to be seen, I naively went in at 1pm thinking I'd be out in time for a late lunch. I had no change and the vending machines were taunting me! If I have to go again I'm taking either a picnic or £10 in coins.

I had awful round ligament pain a few days ago. It was with me for about 2hrs after I spent the afternoon walking, it felt like having a stitch continuously.

I hope everyone is getting along nicely.

SerenaOverjoyed · 03/04/2019 10:34

Good luck with the blood sugar @thedust. Why can't they give you one of the many delicious forms of sugar? Grin

StargazyDrifter · 03/04/2019 10:47

thedust not long to go now, hang in there!

JSCRJ yes the pain is still there and the scans/blood tests have found nothing. It can be worse after eating, which makes me think it is probably to do with everything getting crushed inside. It can also be worse with stress, which again is probably more mechanical and to do with tension. Doesn't seem to link to Baby movements as such. I've only got 6 more weeks at work (!) and no word from the chair people 🙄so I'm just working at home and taking it easy as much as I can. Hope you get your scan date soon, if nothing else's it's peace of mind, and you might get a bonus glimpse of the baby! I did, but they had to be v quick because not really allowed when scanning kidneys etc.

serena really glad you're ok! Interesting about the water, and a lesson to us all as we head into warmer weather.

Jxtina86 · 03/04/2019 10:59

@thedust I just came out of my GTT. The 2 hour wait was beyond tedious! Hope your wait goes quickly!

OneMoreWish · 03/04/2019 11:02

@thedust don't forget to drink water so it's not too hard to take the second lot of bloods

Not long to go xxx

thedust · 03/04/2019 12:08

All done now - the wait was the worst wasn't it @jxtina86? But now I've got to wait for the results too - should hear by Saturday if they are positive, if I don't hear everything's ok 🤞

Jxtina86 · 03/04/2019 12:15

@thedust that's quick for results! Mine said if it's positive I'll hear from the diabetes midwife in 2 weeks, if not then they will just tell me the results in my 28week appt. Will have to wait and see... I thought I'd had plenty of water in the two hours but they struggled to get any blood in the second test so had to try another vein. My poor arm is not happy lol

TwinkleDay · 03/04/2019 12:36

Had major movements from baby in last couple of days, first off we were watching bohemian rapsody on Sunday night was pretty loud however during the re actment of live aid 20 min concert baby was going mad!! Well we have ourselves a queen fan haha.. then last night in the bath I was playing with the bubbles and saw baby kick and no joke tummy rose about an inch !! Lol.

I also had a baby brain moment where I went to wash my face with what I though was my flannel and actually was my knickers- on the other side of the basin 😂😂... then saw a camper van towing a smart car but had to do a double take as momentarily forgot the car was on tow and there was no driver 😂😂

Help me I'm going mad 😂😂

Jxtina86 · 03/04/2019 13:08

@TwinkleDay a mini Queen fan - excellent stuff! I had a similar moment to your bath one the other night - lying in bed and noticed that even though I was flat, bump was higher on one side than the other. One side was soft and the other rock hard, but as soon as I poked the hard bit, it slowly sunk back so it was all level. Really wish I'd recorded it as it was so weird but fascinating!

TwinkleDay · 03/04/2019 13:22

@Jxtina86 weird isn't it, I'm sure there will be more opportunities to record when little one gets bigger :)

Kentishgal · 03/04/2019 15:37

Hi All, not much to report here, no tearfulness per se. Had another cold and more pgp but lucky really that I've not had anything serious. Had to see consultant a few weeks ago and found that a little upsetting (hence probably why I've been a bit quiet on here) and been back to the hospital where I had my daughter today for a counselling session to try and get some more info - they went back through all my notes from previous birth - I found it useful and very interesting - but the notes finished with surgeon's comments saying I need a consultant's conselling appointment before having another baby - so they're now referring the notes back to that consultant to find out why. Hopefully get some more answers and advice. It's left me feeling a bit weird though - not sure if going back over things is a good idea or not. Otherwise all good here and been quite lucky. Sorry some of you are having the diabetes tests - they don't sound very nice - fingers crossed for some negative results.

Chinks123 · 03/04/2019 20:29

Well I’ve just been asked if I’m almost due..I’m not quite 23 weeks yet.
The lady is lovely and looked embarrassed but then said “oh it’s just you look quite big...and low..so it makes you look due.” Grin Photo attached for your own perusal.

I’m not offended but have been staring at my bump in the mirror for 10 minutes to see if I’m carrying low. I hadn’t really thought about it.

Baby has been rolling and kicking hugely for about an hour solidly now, he has much more energy than me!

Chinks123 · 03/04/2019 20:31

Sorry it’s cropped so much, I have to get all the identifiable tattoos out of the way. Blush

ReginaPhalange89 · 03/04/2019 21:07

@chinks123 seriously? I don't think you look like you're nearly due lol

Yukka · 03/04/2019 21:09

@chinks123 I’m 23.3, my bump is very similar to you and today I was described as ‘heavily Pregnant’ ! I have some clothes that make be look tiny and others make me look big, but I think we’re about right :)

Chinks123 · 03/04/2019 22:03

Thankyou @ReginaPhalange89 I don’t think I do either. I’m a lot bigger than I was with my first at this stage, and I think people are basing it on that.

Everyone has seemed shocked at how far I am @Yukka. I’m not sure if it’s because I was so slim before or whether I am actually big, but like you I feel I look right Smile Not great to hear you look heavily pregnant when you’ve got such a way to go though is it haha, I wonder what they’ll think when we’re 40 weeks!

BeckyButterfly · 03/04/2019 22:32

I think people forget how big you get in pregnancy. A lot of people have told me I’m huge but then I see other pregnant ladies who are a lot bigger than me. Plus it depends what I’m wearing or what time of day it is as to how big she looks.
A friend of mine got told she didn’t even look pregnant (she’s 30 weeks) by a family member then a few days later was told by her midwife that she is measuring big for her stage so people have no idea really!

Giraffe888 · 03/04/2019 22:46

@chinks123 I think your bump looks low but mine does too!

TwinkleDay · 04/04/2019 07:31

Happy 28 weeks to that couple of other ladies that are due end of june 27th like me.

Welcome to the third trimester!

Oh my wow hope it goes quick!

farfromhome24 · 04/04/2019 11:44

Hiya ladies. I was in one of these threads before (I think!) but I don't post regularlyBlushDue in July too. Can I ask if any of you had your bump measured at your 25 week appointment. I was 24 weeks then and measured 22Sad midwife wasn't concerned as the baby was lying across my tummy. How much were you measuring and what was your baby's position?Smile

thedust · 04/04/2019 11:53

@farfromhome24 I was measured at 25 weeks 3 days and was 25.5cm. I think my baby is boringly average - a bit above or below is normal too though I think, I wouldn't be worried if your midwife wasn't concerned.

I'm feeling really fed up and lonely, all my plans with friends keep getting cancelled. Our weekend away is now cancelled, our plans for breakfast this weekend are cancelled too. Bear in mind these are the type of plans that takes us weeks/months in advance to pencil in because everyone is always so busy so I'm worried I won't see them much before baby arrives. I've only seen them once this year. All my social life revolves around family things, not through lack of trying to make plans though.

Onestep2 · 04/04/2019 11:55

@farfromhome24 i had my bump measured on tuesday at 27 weeks and she said all was fine. I had said I was concerned as im still not really showing much and if she was concerned then she would let me know.
Im not even sure if she told me what i was measueing LOL - this is not much help lol

Onestep2 · 04/04/2019 11:59

@thedust i know EXACTLY how you feel. i feel ive not seen all my close friends in ages or if i have its been me thats been pushing for a catch up.

sounds silly to say it out loud but i have found certain bits of pregnancy quite lonley at time. (dont know if thats more hormones and emotions rather than being rational)

thedust · 04/04/2019 12:18

@Onestep2 yes, it does feel lonely. It's also knowing that so much will change when baby arrives too and feeling a bit anxious about all that. I'm the first of my friend group to have a baby and I'm not finding it easy with having PGP but I feel like they think I'm moaning about it and every woman gets back ache in pregnancy (I didn't have a clue about it before pregnancy either so would have thought the same). We're doing the NCT course in May so hopefully I'll make some friends there but equally I don't want to just be known as a mummy, I need me time too! I have one other friend from school, not in this group, who had a baby last year and we're really close but she doesn't live nearby so it's never as easy to make plans but we message nearly every day and that has been good. But sometimes I just crave some face to face socialising!
