Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@babyp160

I can’t remember with my first, but I remember I waited 10 days after my second.

AliceRR · 26/02/2019 08:55

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Thank you. That’s kind of you to say. You ladies have been a great support to me through my pregnancy. Also I’m thinking is it’s as much in my interest to be ok being around pregnancy and babies. They are everywhere. I went to the GP surgery and there was a little newborn girl in a car seat and a one year old girl. My friend who is 39w pregnant is coming to see me today actually. She is going through a hard time as her husband has just left her. I was so happy when I was pregnant and I am worried I may feel a bit upset seeing her so heavily pregnant but I want to be there for her too if I can

On another note, 10 days?! 😱😬😝 x

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 26/02/2019 12:52

I think you will find it pretty hard.. but I’m sure your friend will understand that.. you can prop each other up 👌🏼

I have no excuse for the 10 day thing.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ No stitches, no swelling even.. I felt fine!

beckyxo · 26/02/2019 22:10

Hiya ladies, I hope you don't mind, I have a bit of a strange question. I'm 41 weeks today and have had back cramps pretty much all day with period like pains in my tummy if that makes any sense. This evening however the back pain is awful, it hasn't gone away even after having a couple of paracetamol, a bounce on the ball or just generally moving around. Do you think this might be the start of labour? This is my first baby and I have no idea what to expect... I'm desperate for her to come! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! xx

bubblybrit · 26/02/2019 23:15

@beckyxo. Yes it sounds like you may be in labour to me! I didn’t get any pain in my back but started as mild period like pain in my tummy which gradually became more painful. Good luck! X

DeliberatelyGinger · 27/02/2019 19:08

Whose left? I'm 40 weeks today and baby has moved up a bit I've gone from 2/5 palpable to 4/5 palpable

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 27/02/2019 19:24

I’m 42 weeks tomorrow... booked in again tomorrow for monitoring, I think they’re going to try and convince me to go for induction 😬

I’ll have another stretch and sweep at least, and just see what happens 🤷🏻‍♀️

sickmumma · 28/02/2019 13:05

It's my DD today, had some contractions on and off but nothing constant! So frustrating!! Xx

Henslovetoscratch · 28/02/2019 13:23

Good luck everyone still to go. I have been in hospital a day now with a pessary which is about to be taken out. Had cramps on and off since it went on so will see what the midwife says! Fingers crossed it's worked or at least done something to improve the cervix... take care x

DeliberatelyGinger · 28/02/2019 16:05

Just discovered the French calculate the due date as a week later than we do.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 28/02/2019 16:41

I don’t class 40 weeks as a magic due date.. 42 weeks pregnant is as normal as 38 after all, it’s only based on average 🤷🏻‍♀️

That said, I’m booked for induction on Saturday, he’s measuring big at 9lb 8oz and they’ve advised I don’t let him get bigger regardless of due date. I’ve missed out on the MLU now too ☹️

1stTimeTina · 28/02/2019 22:42

Our little baby girl arrived Mon morning , 8lb 9, the induction was booked for Sunday at 3pm but waters went 1am Sunday morning. A long labour so I won't go into details but the main thing is she's here and well. we got out of hosp Wed afternoon and are settling at home nicely .
Side note ... breastfeeding ... OUCH!!!!!!!

Good luck to all those still waiting , they're worth every minute 💕

bubblybrit · 28/02/2019 23:41

Congratulations @1stTimeTina. So glad that you and your baby girl are home and settled. Breastfeeding does get a little better after a while. The first few days I got cracked nipples so feeding was excruciating. Had to mix feed (on recommendation from midwife due to weight loss) which gave my nipples a chance to heal. Midwife also checked latch and gave some guidance which resulted in a much better experience for me!

lanalawr · 28/02/2019 23:51

Congratulations @1stTimeTina !

@bubblybrit are you still topping up? Out of curiosity what is/was your feeding plan? We're also on a feeding plan due to weight loss so bf at least 8 times a day, three top ups (either ebm or formula) and pumping when the top up is given. I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to keep up the pumping when our support goes. Ds is two and a half weeks now and still over half a lb away from birthweight. I've also got a toddler which is going to make pumping difficult when it's just me and the two children. It's worked until now because we've had family staying but they won't be around forever.

Susannach · 01/03/2019 00:13

Congratulations due date buddy @1stTimeTina! Sorry it was a long slog for you but so glad to hear she’s here safe Flowers

bubblybrit · 01/03/2019 04:16

@lanalawr. Yes I’m still topping up. We are currently at 6lb 9oz compared with birth weight of 6lb 14oz. I’m breastfeeding 4 times per day for about 45 mins each time (would like to do more but still slightly painful for me). I have then been told to offer her a top up where she will take 30ml to 50ml each time. There are times where she is hungry but I can’t breastfeed her so she purely feeds from the bottle. Been advised that she should take 50ml to 70ml in these instances. Have been trying to express to cut back on formula but not able to express enough at the moment (only getting 10-15ml per time!)

lanalawr · 01/03/2019 04:59

Thank you @bubblybrit. Good on you for battling through when it's painful to feed still. I'm lucky in that the pain has settled now. It's just the time to express I'm worried about. Ds lost weight again at two weeks old so I've now been told to give him as much as he'll take without being sick for a top up. He was taking 90ml yesterday and that was after me trying to feed him. This child is going to be a machine when he finally works out feeding - that's as much as dd was having in a full feed at the same age.

sickmumma · 01/03/2019 07:11

@DeliberatelyGinger yes one of my school mums is French and says we do everything so differently here and is shocked I am overdue and mentioned they work the dates differently there so I wouldn't be overdue in France! 😂 not sure if that's to be reassuring and cheer me up or what haha!

I am now officially 1 day over due date! Went in to be monitored last night as baby has had a few quiet days then Thursday went back to a baby octopus and then was quiet again yesterday and I needed some reassurance! They talked about inducing me 😳 which I declined and went with a sweep where they said I was 1cm and she could feel babies head! I've had my bloody show this morning so hoping it's kicked things off and going back in today for a scan and to see day unit again to put my mind at ease!

She's been wiggling quite a bit like normal since the sweep so feeling a bit happier and once the scans done I think I'll be okay! Really don't want to be induced!!

DeliberatelyGinger · 01/03/2019 08:02

Good luck @sickmumma, sounds like things are moving a long.

bubblybrit · 01/03/2019 09:01

@lanalawr. It’s horrible when you are doing all you can and they still lose weight. I’m ok pain wise for the first few feeds but just can’t keep up with her since she feeds for such long spells. Expressing is tough enough for me trying to find time so I can’t imagine how you must be doing it with another dc x

mummymummymummummum · 01/03/2019 09:04

Baby Anya arrived on Monday evening via unplanned caesarean. I didn't get my VBAC in the end, but more than happy with the safe arrival of our daughter 💜

We were discharged on Tuesday, but readmitted on Wednesday for light therapy for jaundice. Hoping to get home again today.

bubblybrit · 01/03/2019 09:13

Congratulations @mummymummymummummum. So pleased that Anya (love the name!) arrived safely although perhaps not the way in which you hoped. Fingers crossed that you are discharged today 😀

lanalawr · 01/03/2019 09:42

@bubblybrit yes I thought feeds were better but then he lost weight so clearly they weren't. I'm not sure how we'll manage to wean him off such big top ups but we're not there yet anyway.

Congratulations @mummymummymummummum !

AvoidingMarking · 01/03/2019 13:42

One more for the club. Baby Henry arrived on the 27th after a fairly quick labour. We had a few days in hospital and are home now waiting for the arrival of his big sister who has been on holiday at Granny's house.

Having a few feeding issues due to a shallow latch and waiting for a phone call from the midwife.

AvoidingMarking · 01/03/2019 13:44

Ooh. Picture didn't attach
