@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I've been for 3 sweeps already! Midwives couldn't complete any of them ☹️ cervix nowhere near ready. Trying again tomorrow... Good luck!

sickmumma · 21/02/2019 07:29

Well it's my birthday today, 39 weeks pregnant and little lady is still not here! Officially the most pregnant I have ever been in my life 🙈 have been driving myself crazy the last week assuming she would
Come at 38 weeks like her three siblings but obviously not mean to be! Midwife is booked for Tuesday but she keeps saying she doesn't think she'll see me as baby is engaged and ready to go, just seems she has other ideas!! She's going to be a pickle!!

Susannach · 21/02/2019 07:47

Happy birthday sickmumma! Hang in there Cake

1stTimeTina · 21/02/2019 07:58

Happy Birthday @sickmumma , enjoy your day and eat lots of cake 😊

I'm 40+4 , been having a show for the past 3 days but still nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ midwife tomorrow then induction on Sunday but just praying she comes on her own before then x

sickmumma · 21/02/2019 10:02

Ah @1stTimeTina I hope it works! I had my show on Saturday but still nothing!! I am hoping it's because the stress of my birthday (and was DH birthday yesterday) she's stayed in as I have been a bit worried about it all and planning stuff! Going to
Have a nice long walk and go for lunch today and hoping she will make an entrance at the weekend! I will be 39+5 on Tuesday when I next see the midwife do you think they would give me a sweep then? I really don't want to end up overdue and being induced if I can help it as I was induced with my first and tbh it wasn't a great experience at all and one I would like to avoid! Xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 21/02/2019 10:04

Happy Birthday @sickmumma

I am 41 weeks today.... not even the most pregnant I have ever been 😂😂

Midwife today where I think I’ll have a sweep, but going by my dates I’m not that overdue.. the scan date put me as the 14th, but my period/conception dates put me as 19th/20th, so I’ll see what the mw says..

It’s my eldest sons birthday on the 4th March though, so I’m keen on a gap before then! But, my dad finishes cancer treatment tomorrow.. so I want to be at the family do celebrating that so don’t want to rush things too much!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 21/02/2019 10:05

Basically... I don’t have a clue what to do for the best!! 😂

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/02/2019 10:10

I've been really stressed the last few weeks too as we've had some ongoing issues with DS' pre school...I wonder if that's made a difference!

Notasgreenascabbagelooking great news about your dad's treatment finishing! Hope you enjoy celebrating. I'm a bit suspicious about my dates too as my LMP placed my due date at 26th February, and then the dating scan moved me forward a whole 6 days to the 20th! I don't know when I ovulated but my cycles were 27 days like clockwork so I can hazard a guess.

sickmumma happy birthday!

1stTimeTina · 21/02/2019 10:22

@sickmumma Hopefully they'll give you a sweep! I had one at 38+5 and again at 39+5, then probs another tomorrow at 40+5, I know each trust is different though! They say it only works if they're ready anyways and it's quick and painless so I don't see the harm 😊 good luck! Xx

AvoidingMarking · 21/02/2019 10:49

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I had 3 with my first and none of them worked. I think they only work if they are on the brink of arriving anyway. If that helps! I think they said if the sweep will work it will work within 48 hours.

Great news about your dad.

sickmumma · 21/02/2019 10:50

Thanks ladies! I think as soon as we get the celebrations out the way I need a day to rest tomorrow and then hopefully she can come Saturday! I haven't been sleeping great either as the boys diabetes has been a bit all over the place as we went for dinner last night so I was up until 3am last night giving extra insulin a sthey were a bit high (we went to las iguanas for Mexican and we haven't been before so really hard to kind of work out how much to give them) and the evening before my dad had taken my middle son to a football match and decided because he didn't know how to carb count a hot chocolate he just wasn't going to bother giving him any insulin for it at all (he got a very grumpy pregnant woman yesterday morning telling him off as again I was up until 3am!!)

Perhaps the midwife will give me a sweep then I might just ask! Like I said the midwife said she doesn't expect to see me Tuesday at all as she thinks I'll have the baby but I just have this feeling nothing is close! Also with my others I was put back nearly a whole week at the scans where as with this baby it only changed by a day so perhaps that had something to do with it too!

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking that's great news about your dad finishing treatment! I hope you have a great night celebrating! It's hard isn't it not knowing when these babies will come but I am sure we will have our babies by the end of next week! ❤️ Thursdays is the last day of Feb (my DD) so there's still a lot of time 😊

I just feel like atm everything is on hold waiting for this baby 😂

Celebelly · 21/02/2019 11:14

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Hope the sweep does the trick! I went into labour 48 hours after mine. Probably would have done anyway, but who knows!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 21/02/2019 11:23

I had two sweeps with my first son... went 15 days over with him, I honestly can’t remember if I had one with my second 😆 but he was 12 days late.. i don’t know why I’m a bit hesitant with this one!

Thanks for the congrats too, it was radiotherapy so we still have to wait quite a while before we know how successful it has been, but fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

mummymummymummummum · 21/02/2019 11:49

Just had a 4th attempt at a sweep, and the midwife was just able to do it! First actual sweep in 7 or 8 attempts across two babies! Midwife wasn't very positive about me going into labour spontaneously before Sunday though ☹️

Good luck whatever you decide @NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking

hayley013 · 21/02/2019 15:41

Thanks everyone and hope those still waiting get your babies very soon. It was a crazy one for me. Went to hospital 9pm Tuesday and was only 3cm dilated after a full day of contractions every 5 mins. Was sent home with codeine, had a bath and contractions went off the chart, went back to hospital at midnight, was 10cm(!!) and an hour later she was here. No time for pain relief to my horror Grin she's amazing, and weighed exactly the same as dd1 at 7lb 12oz, she's identical to her too. Been a crazy 2 days so far but I've settled loads today and having a nice relaxing day. She's been vomiting a lot of mucus due to fast birth but fingers crossed that's nearing the end x

Susannach · 21/02/2019 16:51

Wow hayley, what a story! Well done you Star

My waters have just gone and first twinges starting. Finally!

Celebelly · 21/02/2019 16:56

Good luck @Susannach

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 21/02/2019 18:06

I had a sweep, not dilated at all (well 1cm... she could stretch it to two) but it is soft and thinning.

I hadn’t realised that they may not accept me at the midwife led unit if I go more than 12 days over 🙁

DeliberatelyGinger · 21/02/2019 21:14

@Susannach Good Luck!

Susannach · 21/02/2019 23:37

Well that happened fast!

Baby girl arrived safe and sound in the delivery unit reception at 22.00 on the dot. Currently snuggling and feeding. No weight yet.

I can’t believe how different that was to my previous two labours! But definitely in a good way!

bubblybrit · 21/02/2019 23:50

Congratulations @Susannach. I also had a super quick labour. Felt a bit shell shocked afterwards but holding her in my arms was and still is the best feeling ever! Enjoy your snuggles xx

mummymummymummummum · 22/02/2019 07:50

Congratulations @Susannach ! It sounds like she took some people by surprise!

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/02/2019 09:38

Congratulations Susannach!!! Sounds ideal!!!

40+2 and still waiting. Boo. Can't believe DS was born at 39 weeks and this one is keeping me waiting despite having had a sweep already, I never thought I would go overdue! Fingers crossed tomorrow's sweep works, I'm going to ask the midwife to be as vigorous as she can, as the one who did it on Wednesday was so lovely but too gentle IMO!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 22/02/2019 14:12

I don’t think my sweep did anything... I think I’ll be saying goodbye to my chances in the MLU 🙁

Celebelly · 22/02/2019 14:20

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Ah that sucks :( Maybe it's just taking a while – I felt a bit crampy the day of mine then nothing the day after then the day after that my waters went!
