Baby Ava Alessandra made her appearance yesterday finally 3 days overdue 03/03/19 8:18 am 7lb 2oz! She is just amazing and so worth the tedious wait! Labour was quick! Didn't get the water birth I wanted as it hadn't filled in time but still a good experience, she was born in her waters!!

Congratulations @sickmumma. Ava is just beautiful x

Susannach · 04/03/2019 07:12

Congratulations @sickmumma lovely name and beautiful baby!

DeliberatelyGinger · 04/03/2019 07:38

Congratulations! Am I last? Anyone else left. I spend my days trying to get the baby to move lower only for it to move back up in the night.

mummymummymummummum · 04/03/2019 08:59

@DeliberatelyGinger That's exactly what mine did. I realised that I had to go for a walk before any midwife appointment otherwise the head wouldn't be in my pelvis!

lanalawr · 04/03/2019 11:07

Congratulations @sickmumma !

Hopefully you won't have too much longer to wait @DeliberatelyGinger

Susannach · 04/03/2019 12:30

@DeliberatelyGinger Mine did that too! It didn’t matter in the end as she engaged in labour. Is this your first DC?

DeliberatelyGinger · 04/03/2019 13:05

Yep this is my first @Susannach. Doesn't feel like much is happening and I'm now 5 days last my due date. 😞

AvoidingMarking · 04/03/2019 15:33

@DeliberatelyGinger I didn't feel like anything was happening. I actually text my friend saying I'm having a middle of March baby in the afternoon and then by 11pm that night he was here. Just because you can't feel it doesn't mean it's not happening.

Susannach · 04/03/2019 17:05

Same here Avoiding! You never know @DeliberatekyGinger. Please keep us posted and best of luck!

beckyxo · 05/03/2019 07:42

Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce to you baby Alice. She was born on the 1st of March by an emergency c section. She weighed 7.5 pounds with loads of hair!! She's doing really well and has been discharged from the NICU last night and is now with me on the ward. Unfortunately, I'm not doing so well. I was rushed back into hospital last night with suspected sepsis and a spinal leak. So unfortunately I'm now on drips and have to have an MRI later on as well as a lot of tests. Fingers crossed we can go home soon! Congratulations on all the new babies! They're beautiful! 💕 xx

lanalawr · 05/03/2019 09:20

@beckyxo congratulations on the arrival of Alice. I hope she's doing well. Are there concerns over sepsis for her too? I'm sorry you're not doing so well. Hopefully you'll be fighting fit again soon.

bubblybrit · 05/03/2019 11:21

Congratulations @beckyxo. Alice is gorgeous. So pleased that she is doing well. Hope you also feel better shortly and that you get to go home soon x

Susannach · 05/03/2019 12:14

Congratulations! Welcome beautiful Alice. Hope you make a speedy recovery @beckyxo

babyp160 · 05/03/2019 21:00

@beckyxo congratulations she is gorgeous. I hope you are on the mend soon too xx

DeliberatelyGinger · 06/03/2019 17:14

Had a Scan today and baby is breech. Going for an ECV tomorrow.

mummymummymummummum · 06/03/2019 21:07

@DeliberatelyGinger hope it works for you.

DeliberatelyGinger · 10/03/2019 07:08

So we never made it to the ECV appt. I had a bleed on Wednesday just before midnight and went to the hospital. They checked me over and we agreed to a c-section in the morning (category 3 so planned but not really. Somewhere between emergency and elective). When they were checking me I was having contractions which I was too were Braxton Hicks. By the time morning came the contractions were pretty frequent and intense and I was bumped to a cat 2. Baby Faith was born on Thursday at 9:21 am and weighed 9lbs 3.
She has hipdysplacia from being in breech position and is wearing harness to correct it. She has a ridge in her skull from being pressed against my rib cage (but they think this will resolve itself) and it'll be some time before we find out if she has hereditary spherocytosis. All in all quite the drama!
Was anyone else who had a c-section discharged with anything stronger than ibuprofen? I was expecting to be but it hasn't happened.

babyp160 · 10/03/2019 23:37

@DeliberatelyGinger congratulations! Love her name.

C section here too and I was on x2paracetamol and x2 ibuprofen every 6 hours. I was told by a midwife not to miss any even if I feel better for the first 5 days at least as once the pain has reached you it's hard to go again. I think day 7 ish I dropped to x1 of each then maybe day 10 ish no pain relief.

Even set a alarm in the night so I didn't miss any!
