@cardboard33 ha ha you are not alone. We have mice, so the house has never been cleaner but mostly at the moment it's keeping things up high/ away from the little fuckers. We have had the exterminators in, so just hoping that it fully works soon. No organising or real tidying is happening until they are gone and all baby stuff is now hidden upstairs (where so far there have been no signs of anything).
Baby is still breech at 33.5 weeks. Really really hoping that she's just a late turner. Have a growth scan on next Tuesday so hopefully she turns before that.

Daisy2990 · 30/01/2019 13:42

I realise this is a silly thing to whinge about. But I just feel so self conscious. I was a size 18 before I got pregnant, baby is transverse so creating a big wide bump. And I have social anxiety at the best of times.

My MIL just came to help round the house. I put on a massive jumper to make my entrance. She just shouted BIG BUMP!! Didn't even say hello. (Last time she was here she grabbed my stomach without asking Angry Sad )

I'm struggling right now. Pre eclampsia symptoms and now our house purchase/ sale is hanging by a thread. Sorry for the vent, I'm just needing some good news right now.

Daisy2990 · 30/01/2019 14:19

PS. Can anyone remind me how many babygrows and sleepsuits I need? I have one child already but it was a good 6 years ago that I last planned for one!... also very restricted as all baby stuff is packed in boxes for the move...

melissa112 · 30/01/2019 14:34

Checking in. Haven't been able to catch up properly. Had reduced movements so went in on Monday. The monitor showed he was fine but because he'd had a high heart rate and I was sent in a few weeks ago they want me in for a scan on Friday. He's also gone from 50th percentile at 28 weeks, 75 at 31weeks and way over 90 at 34 weeks so his curve has gone a bit steep. Have to.go in for daily monitoring until friday but the traces have been good each day so hopefully he's ok.

Working from home today and can't make the appointment for monitoring due to the weather but hopefully can get in for tomorrow's monitoring. Attempted to get to work at half 6 this morning but by 7:15 I had to call it a day and come home. Took OH 3.5 hours to do the 45min journey!
Will try to catch up with everyone properly, hope you're all doing well.

In terms of nesting, I'm very much in the zone. I get one thing done then just find something else to add to the list

Does anyone know what they would be looking for on a scan due to reduced movements and measuring bigger? Think I'm happy with his movements now but just worried about his growth ..

PartridgeJoan · 30/01/2019 19:05

So... despite me doing pelvic floor exercises I just sneezed and definitely had an 'oops moment' - are others experiencing this too? What are you using to safeguard against accidental leaks?!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 30/01/2019 19:53

Definitely in the nesting mindset but physical inability! It didn't hit until about 35 weeks last time I don't think, so wouldn't worry if you aren't there yet (or to be fair don't get there at all)

@daisy2990 regarding babygrows - at least one set for immediately post labour and a few more for if you're kept in.
If you meant in general then it is really down to how often you want to wash! We have probably 15 vests but maybe 7 sleepsuits.

@melissa112 with size they will be tracking growth rate I guess. They will likely be looking at everything for the reasons for it.

Pelvic floor has already gone on strike @partridgejoan.... 2nd baby syndrome I guess! Still doing the exercise but not making much difference it feels. Was doing them regularly beforehand at my exercise class too, so not like my pelvic floor has been abandoned for 4 years!

babycatcher411 · 30/01/2019 20:42

@melissa112 the scan will be to lookto make sure the placenta is functioning properly. Reduced movements can sometimes be an indication of placental insufficiency.
Is it your first episode?

As for the growth, some hospitals induce for baby’s above the 90th centile, so it could be that. However some dont, but still like to be β€˜prepared’ with the knowledge.

@PartridgeJoan my pelvic floor gave in about 6 weeks ago. Ive had a horrible cough since Christmas and my pelvic floor has since given up the ghost! 😩

ballanj · 30/01/2019 21:41

@PartridgeJoan @babycatcher411 I've been trying to keep a good pelvic floor, for me I think all the running was good training for controlling those muscles. But even so, I've definitely had a couple of cough moments where I've then gone 'ooops' πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I'm wearing panty liners daily because of discharge (sorry if too much info!) and those tend to be sufficient for those whoops moments.

I'm definitely feeling less tired now and I think that's down to correct dose of iron. My poo is like black tar and I have mild piles but I'm having regular bowel movements which is the main thing I guess.

Personally, right now I've never felt so unattractive and least myself. I know it's not long to go now, and some parts of pregnancy I have really enjoyed, but all in all, I'm looking forward to the next part so much more. Have my 34 week check tomorrow and my work are throwing me a baby shower tomorrow evening which I'm looking forward to.

It's good to hear how all you guys are doing aswell and I'm thinking of you all as we head towards the home stretch now!

Angelmiracle · 30/01/2019 23:13

@PartridgeJoan my Pilates instructor keeps telling us to download the nhs Squeezey app for pelvic floor exercises.

I have to wear an always pad at night I literally have no control to hold it in at night. Whether it's pressure of baby's head I don't know!

@ballanj after giving off that the iron was doing nothing for me - in the last few days I've felt much better - not feeling so lethargic breathless and looking to constantly nap!! Hope it improves. Bowels same as you describe!

Thanks all for the kind words the other day. Just to say my little boy was born Monday morning at 5.04am and is doing really well. 😊 We're in NICU atm as he was struggling to feed and was quite jaundiced, but he's really picked up now and I'm tentatively hopeful we might make it home tomorrow or Friday!

Oh my god @toastfiend! He's beautiful! I'm so happy for you!

melissa112 · 31/01/2019 07:23

@toastfiend huge congratulations to you!! He's beautiful! Hope you are both tucked up at home soon! So glad to hear how well he's doing.

@SquirtlesMumAgain @babycatcher411 thanks for your replies. It's my first episode of reduced movements but I was sent in at my routine midwife appt 3 weeks ago for high heart rate to be monitored so not sure really whether the scan is for that or his size or a combination.

@ballanj I'm with you on the discharge and also wearing panty liners daily. Not sure if I've had any oops moments but I'll be so glad when the discharge part is over once! 34 weeks today here today. Hope you have a lovely baby shower today

Wineandchoccy · 31/01/2019 07:43

@toastfiend Congratulations again he is such a beautiful baby 😍

Wineandchoccy · 31/01/2019 07:45

I started taking raspberry leaf tea tablets on Monday and I have felt rubbish since nausea, diarrhoea and back ache thought it was early labour starting but now think it must be linked to the tablets. I’m not going to take anymore and see if I feel better

babycatcher411 · 31/01/2019 07:49

@toastfiend 😍😍 he’s beautiful!!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 31/01/2019 09:01

cardboard33 · 31/01/2019 09:27

Wow @toastfiend you've done so well, and he's so pretty!! Glad everything seems to be stabling now and hope you get out soon!

Miami81 · 31/01/2019 09:41

@toastfiend what a gorgeous wee boy. I know it must be hard to be still in, but it sounds like he is doing fantastically and hopefully will be home really quickly.

Hermagsjesty · 31/01/2019 10:27

@toastfiend what a beauty! Congratulations. So glad he’s here and doing well. Here’s hoping he’ll be heading home with you very soon!

BadBadBeans · 31/01/2019 10:59

@toastfiend Our first March baby - albeit in January! Congratulations! He is gorgeous! He looks big, too, for his gestation! Haven't you done well :) Hope you can get home soon. In the meantime, enjoy the lifty-uppy hospital beds and the gloriously stodgy hospital food xx

SquirtlesMumAgain · 31/01/2019 11:41

Oh yes @badbadbeans - the first plate of tea and toast post birth is amazing, then if you get a meal there is always pudding!!!
The food I got in hospital with DS was pretty good and there was crumble and sponge Puds which are never a bad thing!!!

Gronk27 · 31/01/2019 11:59

@toastfiend Congratulations! He is beautiful. Hope you can all get settled soon x

Wineandchoccy · 31/01/2019 13:11

I’m dreading the hospital food since I had dd the food is now outsourced to an outside company. My Mum had her hip replacement in Octans the food looked disgusting and she said it tasted even worse than it looked 🀒 I am hoping I gave a short stay

Harley8888 · 31/01/2019 13:43

@toastfiend congratulations! he is absolutely gorgeous. Hope you will be home soon to rest up and have lots of cuddles. Grin
