I havent even given the tests any thought or worry don't know if I'm being naive or what. My BMI was in the healthy range, I'm 30 can't remember exactly I want to say like 23. It was higher before but obviously lost weight even though it's not visible! Must be not having 5/6 cups of tea a day it's the only difference really.

Michelle0507 · 04/01/2019 18:09

Also leggings have become life went to Primark the other day for more. Wanted long top/jumper dress type thing for work and some dressy ones but I only managed to find one blouse!

Yukka · 04/01/2019 18:19

Is anyone else having pregnancy congestion/rhinitis? I’m going nuts with it. I think I prob have a bit if a cold too but I’m so congested, anyone got any remedy suggestions? I do have allergies but not at this time of year, everything medicated seems to be a no go. Help!

1sttimeunicorn · 04/01/2019 18:26

@Yukka yup! Every day, first and last thing it's the worst. Random sneezing has been going on forever!

1sttimeunicorn · 04/01/2019 18:28

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts still great stats. If you're concerned you could ring your midwife but my understanding is that it's not high risk unless it's down to 1 in 50 or something. Try not to worry. It's hard tho I know.

Michelle0507 · 04/01/2019 18:55

I've been snotty and sneezy lots I do have none allergic rhinitis so suffer all year round. I normally get told you sound like you've got a cold, no this sh*t is permanent for me!

StargazyDrifter · 04/01/2019 19:12

So that's what all my sniffling is all about then! I'd been wondering why my cold seems to be stuck at day 1 symptoms. It's not a cold at all, then. It's the little resident in my tummy! Still kind of annoying though.

13+5 today, some energy and enthusiasm starting to return. Though I massively overdid it today because I thought I was back to normal already and then came crashing down. My boobs seem to have deflated and there is a lot of twinging/fizzing in my tummy. And getting even more veiny. Interesting new phase.

Yukka · 04/01/2019 19:15

Well DH picked up a sea water nasal spray on his way home, So I reminded him we live 2 miles from the beach.... I’ll try anything though! I’m sure it’s not literally sea water....🤔

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 04/01/2019 19:21

@1sttimeunicorn it seems high compared to everyone I know.

I think we are going to have the harmony or Iona test, hopefully put my mind at ease

1sttimeunicorn · 04/01/2019 19:26

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts yes I understand that, I had the harmony test. That's where my stats I posted came from. If it helps I will share my NHS results when I get them next week?

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 04/01/2019 19:48

@1sttimeunicorn if you wouldn't mind. I'm hoping the harmony test will put my mind at ease.

I'm 30 and everyone I've spoken to is older and has a lower chance. I'm probably panicking over nothing.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 04/01/2019 19:57

@1sttimeunicorn i wasn't prepared to be so worrying. I've been distracted by the terrible sickness. The harmony test must have really given you peace of mind x

1sttimeunicorn · 04/01/2019 20:26

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I will post them when I get them. I expect them to be lower odds if that makes sense. The harmony test was great and I do recommend it. However I have known several people who had 1 in 1000 results and lower and were in their 30s and all was fine. Peace of mind is priceless tho.

Jxtina86 · 04/01/2019 20:55

Not had sniffles or anything but when I blow my nose first thing - it's like my brains are coming out! I did Google and seemingly is pregnancy related but didn't expect it!

I feel my boobs are still expanding! But my new maternity bras are a life saver so only notice it at night when I take my bra off. Might get a soft sports bra to wear in bed - the height of sexy 😉

1sttimeunicorn · 04/01/2019 21:14

I've really got a massive bump already (13 and a half weeks) and especially at night after I've eaten dinner I'm looking gigantic. With my DS (who was born 20 months ago) I was never that big - had a really neat little bump. I feel gigantic now. My midwife said it's normal muscle memory and that girl bumps tend to be a different shape? All I know is I desperately need some mat clothes for work as with my DS I barely needed any! Blush

TwinkleDay · 04/01/2019 21:15

@Jxtina86 I had lots of mucus especially in the morning and nose bleeds ... but that's normal apparently and I also had bleeding gums so dentist suggested switching toothbrush to soft bristle and Colgate gum defence alcohol free mouth wash

Yukka · 04/01/2019 21:30

Well I have to say the sea water spray has helped massively tonight it’s by a brand called Sterimar if anyone wants to try it. I’m going to try nasal strips as well tonight, need a good nights sleep as going shopping tomorrow for bigger clothes for work too.

whogivesaratzass · 04/01/2019 21:31

Hi all,
I was lurking around for the first few threads and too worried to join but we had our scan the other day and all seems ok so I guess I am just about ready to accept - we are having a baby!!!

Glad to see I am not the only one with a belly forming much quicker than expected! This is my second, DD1 will be 2 and 2 months when this little one arrives - scary thought!!!

Here is to happy healthy babies!!! xxx

Yukka · 05/01/2019 08:13

Welcome to the thread @whogivesaratzass, fantastic need on your 12w scan- it’s the longest 8 weeks of our lives I think to get to that point.

When I went for 11w scan on Thursday the couple before us got told they were having twins, their faces were a picture :)

I slept pretty well last night except for 4an wake up and 6am drift off, but I’ve had that since the beginning. Hoping it will ease of soon. Sickness seems to have gone away - phew!

Happy Saturday ladies.

cravingmilkshake · 05/01/2019 09:27

Hi ladies.

My sleeping : I tend to go off normally and have a really deep sleep from 10:30 till about 3ish then am partially awake until I decide to get up- I guess it's our bodies preparing us for what is to come!

11 weeks and 3 days today- finally felt well enough to get up and do a spin class- first class since I found out at 5 weeks.

My bmi at booking appointment was 35 which I am gutted about as before I got married this year I was down to 30. So I have some work to do trying to keep this baby and myself as healthy as possible!

Hope you ladies have a lovely weekend xx

Onestep2 · 05/01/2019 09:39

@cravingmilkshake my sleeping pattern is all over the place... mostly disrupted by the need to pee.

Well don't on going to spin. How did you find it. I'm currently sitting in my gym stuff waiting for spin 😂 it was one of those if I don't get up and get ready just now I won't go!! I've got a bit of cushion for the pushing and known for yoyo dieting and weight going up ans down so I'm coincious to not want to push the fuck it button this early or I will end up the size of a baby orca by time July comes lol xx

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 05/01/2019 13:22

So I've had my letter through today..

Does anyone know what normal/standard results should be?

Ringing in the New Year & 2nd trimester - July 2019!
Squ1ggle · 05/01/2019 14:02

I'm confused, everyone's letters show very specific figures but when mine came today it just said low risk but no specific figures. Has anybody else had this?

RooKangaroo · 05/01/2019 14:20

@Squ1ggle, different Trusts do it differently. Some give exact numbers, some just categorise the numbers into low/medium/high risk and give you the category only, and some will do both.

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts, I think those numbers are really good. The Down's risk is higher than I've usually seen, but it's still way tiny - i.e. advice tends to not to do further tests unless risks are 1 in 100 or similar.

Everyone reacts differently to it though. I recently found out that my SIL has the Harmony test for her baby because while her results were 1 in 500,000, her sister got 1 in a million. SIL was worried, so wanted the test. Each to their own. You can't put a figure in peace of mind.

RooKangaroo · 05/01/2019 14:23

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts, just to put your Down's score in more context, I understand the 'normal' range is up to 2.8mm.

Middle-left of your photo it shows that your baby currently measures 2.2mm for nuchal translucency. So completely within the normal range.
