@PaulHollywoodsSexGut I cant wait for a summer baby! Both my previous were winter and my god the nights are long and dark and cold when you're feeding all hours.

We are literally 5mins from Fistral Beach here and DH wants to teach them all to surf. I figure he can do that with the eldest while baby and I nap Smile

WeeBean · 30/12/2018 17:55

@MadeinCornwallx3 that sounds completely idyllic!! I can't wait for lovely long walks on the beach with our wee one.

socktastic · 30/12/2018 18:14

I was thankful for my summer baby last time round when all I could do to settle him was go chuck him in his pram and go out for walks! Looking forward to it this time round too, especially since I'll have a toddler in tow who will need to get out and run off energy!

@Kescilly I don't have FB and have no intention of getting it either (of course no judgement to those that do!!) so I'll be here ☺️ unless I lose the thread again 🤣

rollerskaterdata · 30/12/2018 18:45

I'm also sooooo glad to be having a spring / summer baby this time, DS was born in December and the cold days and long, dark nights really made me miserable!

Bigonesmallone3 · 30/12/2018 18:49

I'm sticking here too.. no Facebook..

fee1234 · 30/12/2018 19:03

Same to sticking here, couldn't really get into the Facebook pages

Kescilly · 30/12/2018 20:07

Can I have some advice from those who have been pregnant before? My brother, SIL, and little niece are set to visit this spring. They are talking about coming when I am about 30 weeks but have offered to move the trip sooner if I feel I’d be too physically uncomfortable then. In some ways it works out better for them to come later, I just don’t know how I’m going to feel. Any thoughts?

If it helps, I like all of them, we are all comfortable around each other, and they would probably rent a place nearby so I wouldn’t have the burden of hosting full-time.

toomanyflatwhites · 30/12/2018 21:16

@Kescilly my DP invited his whole family (parents, sister and 2 kids) to stay with us the the same weekend I finished work for mat leave - so 37 weeks. His parents were in an air b&b but sister and niece and nephew stayed with us. I was not best pleased as you can imagine! The slightly lucky thing was (?!) was that I had such bad SPD I couldn't walk so could opt out of the full weekend of outings! 30 weeks would most likely be fine but it will be totally dependent on you and what you feel comfortable with.

Reastie · 31/12/2018 07:04

Kescilly it also depends on what they’re like as houseguests. If they will pitch in and help with things it’ll be a lot easier than if you are expected to do all the cooking etc. FWIW I remember getting very tired again from about 30 weeks and physically things like emptying the dishwasher etc were difficult but it depends on you and the guests. Better to do it when pg than when you have a newborn too!

hexagon01 · 31/12/2018 07:30

@Kescilly with a relationship as you describe I think I’d have been fine with that at around 30 weeks, probably from about 33/4 weeks I’d have struggled.

Kescilly · 31/12/2018 08:21

Thanks ladies! Sounds like I should go for it. They’d definitely pitch in and wouldn’t expect me to do anything. I really miss my family so I’m looking forward to having them here.

Hi guys.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!

Found out just before Christmas I am also having a boy, so excited. Also had my 16 week appointment where the midwife did check for heart beat and found straight away! I’m really anxious still as I am currently 17+6 with a postieror placenta and haven’t help and defiant movement just little muscle spasms and I honestly cannot wait to feel him move. Also Have my 20 week scan on the 17th which cannot come quick enough due date is still 4th June

KoalasAteMyHomework · 31/12/2018 10:05

Hello all. Been a totally manic Christmas but congrats to all those who have had their scans and know the sex. Hope everyone has a lovely new year.

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today. They didn’t listen to baby’s heart but will do at 24 weeks

KoalasAteMyHomework · 31/12/2018 13:01

I have my 16w on Fri (when I'm 17+2). Really hope they do a heartbeat check if they can. Fingers crossed!

Napssavelives · 31/12/2018 14:26

My midwife said that if there was any problems or they couldn’t find it there would be no where to refer onto as our local hospitals won’t see until 26 and 28 weeks pregnant

fee1234 · 31/12/2018 15:02

My midwife listened in at my 16 week appointment and found the heartbeat but it wasn't as clear as I can find with my own Doppler... didn't dare tell her that because they absolutely hate you having them at home!!

Have stopped using it since I've started feeling frequent movements.

Napssavelives · 31/12/2018 15:22

Yeah they used to listen. They did with ds1, can’t rememebr with ds2

Bigonesmallone3 · 31/12/2018 15:29

I have my first consultant apt on Wednesday.. don't really know what to expect.. I did see a consultant for my last baby but that was after about 30 weeks.. haven't heard anything from my 12 week scan yet so 🤞🏻 it's nothing to do with that.
I was told I wouldn't hear anything til my 16 week MW apt..

MaltedMilk88 · 31/12/2018 18:58

Hi all - me too - due June 29th - a week before my sisters wedding :)

Napssavelives · 01/01/2019 09:32

Is anyone else still exhausted? Struggling to stay awake past 8pm. I know I work and have 2 other kids but should I really be this tired?

KoalasAteMyHomework · 01/01/2019 09:56

napssavelives me! Still shattered! Had it til 18 weeks with DS1! But perhaps worth mentioning to your mw next time you see her in case you have low iron or something.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 01/01/2019 10:32

@napssavelives

Me too - BUT I’ve got a non-moving cold too. Honestly it’s been six weeks. I’m so so so fed up. Tried Parkrun this morning and near-died.

Torsz · 01/01/2019 10:41

I'm feeling like hell at the moment 😣 didn't work yesterday as I had such a bad headache, now I've still got the headache but also a really sore/itchy throat and ears, and no energy whatsoever. I also feel like there's something sat on my throat, which is supposed to be a symptom at a much later stage...hoping this doesn't last!!
