Sounds rubbish Torz, maybe you’ve got a nasty bug, there are so many going around atm.

Paul I’m impressed you managed to attempt parkrun, I haven’t managed to run since 4 weeks and I really miss it.

Nap I’m still asleep by 9pm most evenings, but I do sleep terribly and wake up constantly through the night so I’m not sure how much is down to that and how much is pg exhaustion.

When I put up a post on Fb about being pg I got a number of Shock faces (you know, like ‘like’ but Shock ). Feeling a bit Hmm about it as I wouldn’t put Shock to someone announcing they are pg. maybe it’s because people know how awful my last pg was and how I spent years saying I’d never do it again, but even so...

Happy New Year ladies!! The year we get to meet our wee ones and realise it's all worth it ☺️

Kimbishop86 · 01/01/2019 13:59

@reastie doesn’t that mean ‘wow’? I’d take that as positive! X

Sophieduejune18 · 01/01/2019 14:02

Hi everyone. I joined today as I don’t know what to do. My boyfriend walked out on me last night at 10 to midnight. Just said he didn’t love me. I’m so scared of facing this pregnancy alone and being a single mum. I have work tomorrow and don’t know how I will get through it. I just feel so depressed. I’d appreciate any help or advice anyone can give. I feel so alone.

Torsz · 01/01/2019 14:11

@Reastie I'd take that as 'wow' too - lots of my friends would use that to show surprise/happiness! And thanks - I think it is a bug but I've freaked myself out a little looking up early symptoms of chickenpox (I've completely lost my appetite too which is another symptom and is very unlike me, and I was with my niece who has chickenpox on Boxing Day). I don't think it's likely to be that as I definitely had it as a child but it's got my worrying a little...

@Sophieduejune18 that's so terrible, I'm sorry. What an absolute wanker!!! I know it probably doesn't feel like it right now but you and your little one are a million times better off without him if he's going to do something like that - and you can give them an incredible life and all the love they need. It will take some time to get over the shock but then you can start getting ready for your new life with baby xx

twosecs · 01/01/2019 18:59

Hey can I join? I'm due 26th June! Is there a Facebook group yet? I'm terrible at keeping up to date on MN!

twosecs · 01/01/2019 19:05

Ignore me! Have PM'd @MadeInCornwallx3

Reastie · 01/01/2019 19:08

Thanks Torz and Kim, I thought it was a shock face rather than a wow face so that seems a bit better.

Hey twosecs, there is a Fb grp but I’m not sure how to add people (I did it wrong when I tried) but I’m sure someone here can help.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 01/01/2019 19:08

Hey those who have PM'd me about FB.

Can you let me know if it's not worked? The invite email should go to your address you've given me.

I'll jump on the laptop tomorrow and have another go if it's not worked as it seems to be playing up for some reason! 🙈

WeeBean · 01/01/2019 19:42

I just checked my emails again and haven't got an invite/link for FB through. Dont want to cause you any hassle with it though!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 01/01/2019 20:13

Am presently scouting the Internet for solutions to fatigue that a) work and b) are “complimentary” therapies. I’m desperate as I lost three hours this afternoon thanks to CRASHING out and I’m waking up tired, going to bed tired, always fucking tired.

I supplement my vitamins, I eat well enough, I take 2 spatone each day, I’m relatively active - everything they tell you to do. But I’m on my knees. I know it’s off the back of the many many colds I’ve had but I’ve never had a pregnancy rinse me like this (nor a cold).

I’m just knackered. Does anyone know anything about natural remedies and that kind of thing?

Ps: @crazycowlady am seeing the King of Midwives re delivery options next Monday. 10/10 to the hospital for getting that sorted so quick, am gobsmacked.

Reastie · 01/01/2019 20:18

Paul that’s brilliant you get to see the king so quickly! Re tiredness I’ve had acupuncture for other ailments and it’s been really effective, not sure of that might be worth a try?

Reastie · 01/01/2019 20:21

Or you could look at diet, if you eat lots of sugary foods it might cause crashes in emergy so focus on eating whole grains and lots of veg to give steady blood sugar. I would say a bit of activity/exercise every day can give more energy (even though you’d think it’d make you more tired) but you said you did park run today so I imagine you’re doing that already.

CocoHoney · 01/01/2019 21:31

Hi girls.. Due with my first baby 26th June 2019!! So excited! xx

CocoHoney · 01/01/2019 21:33

I'll be 15wks tomorrow. :) Defo got a bump going on, and I'm soooo tired atm. Lots of little stretchy pains, and ahem.. gas Blush Craving mango sorbet and ice cream. xx

CocoHoney · 01/01/2019 21:34

@twosecs 26th of June here too! xx

allfurcoatnoknickers · 01/01/2019 21:43

I just got my first "But what are you going to do with your dogs when the baby comes?" from my mother of all people, a women who had had pets all her life and who had two cats when I was a baby!

I have two 13lb well trained Jack Russells, not out of control Bull Mastiffs. Hmm

She was already driving me nuts, but for some reason that really got under my skin. Angry

fee1234 · 01/01/2019 23:26

I posted a pic of some lovely big juicy prawns on my Instagram story and I received a message from a friend I've not spoke to in ages saying 'OMG you can't eat those!!!'

Felt so annoyed, stuff like that has happened quite a lot over Xmas with family members etc, also people constantly offering me chairs when I'm perfectly happy standing and not even showing that much.

Just venting! People probably mean well but i get so frustrated when they treat me differently and think they know what's best for me.

coastergirl · 02/01/2019 03:27

Happy new year, ladies.

@CocoHoney and @twosecs I'm due 26th June too. 15 weeks today.

I am still totally exhausted too, and it's getting me down. I go to bed so early. Wake a fair bit in the night but I'm usually back to sleep fairly easily. During the day I am really struggling. My little boy is going through a tough stage and all I want to do is sleep! I have my appointment for my quad test at the hospital in the morning so I'm going to ask them about it.

toomanyflatwhites · 02/01/2019 08:41

Erm @fee1234 you CAN eat prawns as far as I know, unless I'm getting it all wrong? Mind you I did have mine hot when everyone else had cold at our big fancy ridiculously dragged out dinner on New Year's Eve. Had a bickering row with DP last night about differences between french and British dietary advice, so bloody annoying! The rules in France are - any cheese is ok if it's pasteurised. Unpasteurised is a no go - even if it's hard cheese, but pasteurised is fine even if it's mould forming eg colomierre - just like Brie, but pasteurised. I was loaning about there being no cheese I could eat and he went on about how the nhs are wrong because the English know nothing about cheese - so bloody annoying!! We are staying with the in-laws in France until Friday so I just have to suck it up till then.
16.5 weeks now and definitely have got a bump, I think the secret is going to be well and truly out of the bag when I go back to work on Monday, it's going to be a bit embarrassing strolling in with a great big bump when I haven't told anyone yet 😳

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 02/01/2019 08:52

Your friend has no clue @fee1234

If that were the case the population of Portugal would have died out a long time ago 🤦🏼‍♀️

Morgan999 · 02/01/2019 09:11

@MadeInCornwallx3
I haven't received any emails either

socktastic · 02/01/2019 09:19

Anyone else feel like their hormones are raging out of control? Spent large parts of yesterday in tears. Also getting increasingly grumpy with no real cause. Taking it out on the toddler too who of course doesn't understand what's going on and just wants to play with me.
My house is a state. I have not done any prep for going back to work on Monday. My life just seems an utter shitty mess. I don't want to go back to work.
Sorry, all I seem to be doing is complaining.

OP posts:
KoalasAteMyHomework · 02/01/2019 09:34

I'm the same socktastic. Seem to be all over the place with my hormones. Crying and short tempered all the time - though being exhausted doesn't help. Am 17 weeks now so still hoping for that lovely 2nd trimester "blooming" phase.

And I'm annoyed now. I thought we could only have cooked hot prawns so have been turning down prawn cocktails all Christmas even though they're my favourite starter!

WeeBean · 02/01/2019 11:22

No sign of this wonderful 2nd trimester here either! Still lying in bed battling nausea and feeling completely fed up.

I've had a couple of prawn cocktails in the last week having avoided them because I thought we couldn't have them but as long as they're cooked it's fine from what I can tell. Love a good prawn cocktail!
