@coastergirl cross post! Congratulations 😄

coastergirl · 29/12/2018 10:09

Thank you! She was also able to check the nuchal measurement which they weren't able to do at the 12 week scan. It's 1.4 at 14 weeks and 3 days, nasal bone visible and all looking good so that's nice and reassuring. Much better pics!

Still catching up but @napssavelives there’s a few yoga classes by purely pregnant and they’ve got an offer in Jan for 2 classes for £10 so I might try those out. They’re in a few different locations in Bristol!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 29/12/2018 13:41

I think I've added everyone to the FB group who messaged me but do let me know if it's not worked!

Morgan999 · 29/12/2018 15:00

@MadeInCornwallx3
How do I message to join the fb group? Can I do it from my phone?

Blondcat · 29/12/2018 15:16

Don't think it has worked for me @madeincornwallx3 not had an invite on fb

WeeBean · 29/12/2018 15:17

Not sure it worked for me either but I could just be being an eejit.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 29/12/2018 15:23

Hi @WeeBean and @Blondcat I've re-sent the invites, they should drop into your email account rather than a FB notification I believe.

@Morgan999 You need to PM me your email address (that you use for FB) and then I can add you 😊.

Morgan999 · 29/12/2018 15:29

@MadeInCornwallx3
How do I send a PM ?
Thanks

MadeInCornwallx3 · 29/12/2018 15:31

@Morgan999 On the main site - you can prob do it via the desktop site through phone internet otherwise from a laptop Smile

fee1234 · 29/12/2018 15:47

@coastergirl congrats on the boy!!

I understand what others mean about having a preference.. I did really want a girl and it took me a bit of time to get used to the idea of a boy but I'm getting there, especially as I've felt him moving recently. Not an easy thing to admit to people!

hexagon01 · 29/12/2018 17:31

Hi everyone, just been catching up after trying not to look at my phone too much at Christmas ha ha.

I have quite a horrible fall today, I fell quite badly and am all grazed up. I know the baby is very well protected in there and I only have a tiny bump and managed to fall on my side, but it’s still worrying. Has anyone else had this happen? I’m very clumsy so I’m often tripping etc but I’ve not had a fall like this since I was a kid probably! I’m also feeling overly emotional as I stopped breastfeeding my son on Boxing Day and oh boy the hormones on top of my pregnancy hormones are A Lot.

fee1234 · 29/12/2018 17:58

@hexagon01 oh you poor thing that sounds horrible 😞 hope you are okay. Baby will be well protected in there, I've been told since I'm rhesus neg blood group if I have any falls I might need to get the anti d injection but if that isn't your blood type then there would be no reason to worry x rest up

hexagon01 · 29/12/2018 20:00

Thanks @fee1234, luckily I’m positive so nothing needs doing, just nursing my grazes and feeling sorry for myself Smile

Kescilly · 29/12/2018 22:26

Glad you’re feeling okay overall @hexagon01. Must have been quit scary.

Congrats on your boy @coastergirl!

I hope everyone isn’t abandoning us for FB. I really don’t want to have to make an account. Last time I thought I might make one with a throwaway name, they asked for a phone number when registering.

How’s everyone else feeling?

lstef · 29/12/2018 23:16

Hope everyone ok. Had a busy week with christmas and work 3 days and DPs family and didnt sleep well last night - nausea is back tonight and I only have one more anti sickness tablet left for tomorrow - I hope I can manage without them but eeek 🤤

coastergirl · 30/12/2018 07:24

Can anybody who is knowledgeable about exercise advise me please? I have an active job (work with young people with autism so I'm never still, always dashing about, up and down stairs etc) but don't do any other exercise. I'm overweight but not massive. I do have a horrible saggy belly though as that's where my weight seems to go, plus I had a c-section so it caused a pouch. Anyway, I know it's not generally advised to start a new exercise regime during pregnancy, but does anyone think some pregnancy yoga at home might be ok? Using a dvd or video online. I haven't gained weight so far (probably because of going teetotal after drinking too much before pregnancy) and I'm hoping I can keep it to a minimum. I'd generally like to be fitter and healthier.

Thanks for all your thoughts about my boy. I'm so happy to be having another boy. I know it's not important compared with other things, but it's definitely my preference so I'm really pleased.

Torsz · 30/12/2018 07:34

@coastergirl I don't have any medical knowledge but I haven't done yoga/anything like that in a long time and my midwife specifically recommended I take it up after 12 weeks so I assume low intensity exercise is ok to start afresh. She said I could continue my aerobics class as I already did that before being pregnant, so I took that to mean that you could continue more cardio/high intensity stuff x

Reastie · 30/12/2018 07:37

Coaster I’ve been researching a lot about exercise in desperation to know what to do when I feel up to it again. I’d say that sounds fine, just take it easy initially and don’t do anything that you find uncomfortable and don’t push yourself. Gentle swimming and walking would be good too I reckon.

I’m good news I managed 15 minutes very gentle cycling on my exercise bike yesterday (although had to lie down for half an hour afterwards as it made me light headed) but paid for it with another terrible nausea evening. Gah.

Oh dear istef I hope you feel better soon.

Hexagon poor you, hope you’re not too bruised this morning. I remember last time I was pg there was this weird protection mechanism in me and I used to hate people banging into me in the street or getting too close and would worry about falls.

Toomanyflatwhites how are you feeling about things today?

Anyone actually planning on staying up for New Year’s Eve? I’m going to bed early —no change there then— Grin . My eyes struggle to stay open beyond 8:30.

coastergirl · 30/12/2018 09:31

@Reastie and @Torsz thank you both. I'll look into it.

toomanyflatwhites · 30/12/2018 09:49

@coastergirl I have lots of yoga experience and went to a little bit of pregnancy yoga last time (mostly I just do my usual yoga practice with modifications but some specific yoga is nice too!) and LOTS of women at the pregnancy classes were only starting yoga during pregnancy. I think the advice about not starting something new relates to more intense stuff.
Also the pregnancy teacher I went to last time recommended yoga with Adrienne's pregnancy videos (YouTube) or as someone recommended Tara Lee's DVD is on amazon prime if you have that and she was always the top recommended DVD when I worked at a yoga studio.

coastergirl · 30/12/2018 09:53

Ooh fantastic. Thank you so much @toomanyflatwhites

toomanyflatwhites · 30/12/2018 10:01

Thanks for checking in @Reastie - we had friends coming for lunch yesterday and had a screaming row just before they arrived when DD broke one of our only 4 dinner plates and somehow it was my fault..told him at this rate I won't be boarding a flight tomorrow to see his family and he can go by himself with DD, then I ran out in the car on an emergency trip to the supermarket to buy more plates 🤣 by the time I got back the friends were here so that dissipated the row and then they stayed most of the day (everyone drank quite a lot...) so a quiet evening after that and he has taken DD swimming this morning. Whenever we have a phase like this he will eventually tell me what has been stressing him but I suspect that won't happen now until he goes back to work in January, let's see. But otherwise am ok!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 30/12/2018 11:47

@Reastie I'm another one who'll be foregoing the NYE fun for an early night!

Tbh I am SO ready for the new year and cracking on with this pregnancy and everything else. Jan 1st always starts the countdown to summer down here - can't wait to be back on the beach Smile

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 30/12/2018 13:16

@MadeinCornwallx3

I think we think with the same brain.

I feel a sense of relief when the solstice is out the way and as soon as it’s Jan 2nd I’m all like

“BIKINIS OOT! SUMMER IS COMING”

Ps for reasons too dull to go into here are the temps (In London) on my due date past 4 years:

2018: 21°
2017: 20°
2016: 23°
