High side of average, I should have said! Not actually out of normal range. 2.9.

KoalasAteMyHomework · 23/01/2019 15:09

Don't feel silly @hexagon01 its easy to worry and you've done the right thing by phoning. Hope it eases off.

Am so relieved for you HeebyJeeby!

Heebyjeeby99 · 23/01/2019 15:12

@Kescilly when is your repeat scan? Everything crossed for you.

@hexagon01 don't feel silly, I nearly phoned in for cramps yesterday and turned out I just needed a few poops (4 in total!!!)

hexagon01 · 23/01/2019 15:15

Thanks guys, I'm reluctant to complain about it as I know how lucky I am but god I hate being pregnant...

Glad your scan was a good one Heebyjeeby! and that your poos worked!

Kescilly · 23/01/2019 15:21

In the waiting room right now Heebyjeeeby! Ten minutes late currently. 😄

Heebyjeeby99 · 23/01/2019 15:23

@Kescilly mine was 30 mins late and I was 15 mins early...I was pacing the waiting room by the end it!

2countries1bump · 23/01/2019 16:00

Also in the waiting room for my 20 week scan! Full bladder is a challenge when things running behind....

Reastie · 23/01/2019 16:22

Sass sorry for all your worries. Can recommend meditations by honest guys on you tube. It won’t solve your problems but for half an hour it might make you feel more relaxed and able to cope.

Do we need a full bladder for 20 week scan? I did not know this!

I am really really struggling with intense nausea in the build up to having a bm. It’s been throughout pg but has been worse since I’ve been eating more fibre in my diet now I can eat more variety. I’m on laxitives because of ondansetron and have switched to another type thinking it was that which was causing it but I’m still suffering. It’s so extreme and comes on so suddenly and there’s no pattern to when it happens. Is anyone else having this issue?

Paul Hollywood sorry you’re struggling, I’m finding it mentally and physically horrible quite frankly and am counting the days to my due date.

Torsz · 23/01/2019 16:42

I went to my 20 week scan with a full bladder and she told me it had to be completely empty!

Kescilly · 23/01/2019 16:57

Finally done! They called me back twice so they could get another pic, then I had to wait for paperwork. But all looks normal which is what matters!

We haven’t had the sex verified since our private scan a month ago so I hope they were right.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 23/01/2019 17:38

Thank you @reastie

And re THIS:

I am really really struggling with intense nausea in the build up to having a bm

I get this every morning as soon as I take two bites of my porridge and a sip of my coffee. It’s like lightning and I have to lollop to the bathroom and wait it out. It’s the only “real nausea” I’ve got left now but it’s very much THERE.

Reastie · 23/01/2019 17:42

Thanks Paul Hollywood, it’s so intense I have to lie in bed and do deep breathing to stop myself from being sick and it lasts anything from 15 minutes to 2 hours, however long it takes for a bm to happen. At least yours happens at the same time every day so you anticipate it, mine just randomly suddenly starts.

2countries1bump · 23/01/2019 18:27

@Torsz Appointment letter was very specific about liquid intake and timings. Don't think it made much difference. Did one bit with full bladder then emptied bladder to see if baby would move - worked in the end and all was well!

hexagon01 · 23/01/2019 19:23

Every scan I’ve had I’ve had to go to the loo cos apparently my bladder was too full. In both pregnancies!

Fabuluce · 23/01/2019 19:32

Well it took us over 1.5hrs to get to the hospital this morning (normally takes 25 mins) thanks to a combination of snow/ice and rush hour traffic. Thankfully the carpark that we are warned can take up to an hour to get parked only took us 10 mins so we made it in with 5 mins to spare. Phew! 20 week scan today went really well despite the wee one being very pickly and not wanting to stay still for measurements. The sonographer said don't worry about a full bladder for this one as it can actually make it worse! I figure if you have some pee in there and things are a bit tricky then it's quicker to pee it out and see if that helps than the other way around.

The fetal cardiac scan was really interesting. I had a fetal medicine specialist and a paeds specialist conducting the scan and they were very thorough. Because of my auto-Immune issues there is a risk of the baby getting heart block which could affect its growth etc. Luckily as I am asymptomatic, the chances of this are slim but they would rather be safe than sorry so now I will have weekly dopplers with the midwife at the gp's surgery until my next fetal cardiac scan at 32 weeks. I felt very well looked after. I also signed up for 4 research studies while I was there, one of which will include doing a blood pressure monitor 3 times a week to monitor my risk of pre-eclampsia (heightened risk given my age and IVF). Easy stuff but helpful and really interesting too. All in all a good day 👍🏼.

Hoorah for the other scans today. Good news all round. X

Bimbabo · 23/01/2019 22:58

We have our 20 week scan on Friday and I can’t wait. I’ve been very lucky, and hoping it stays this way, only been tired but nothing that a nap when I get home from work doesn’t help with. I hope anyone feeling rubbish soon has it past.

We’ve got the cot bed, travel system, changing mat and randomly a pair of penguin shoes....too cute for me to walk past 🤦🏻‍♀️

There’s a few of us at work all due a few weeks apart so we are having a day shopping together in Feb to get other stuff. Mainly an excuse for lunch and non stop baby chat so we don’t bore others.

Take care xxx

toomanyflatwhites · 24/01/2019 06:54

Glad the scans this week have been going well, ours is this afternoon. Eek! Also have got the in-laws staying for a week from France, and SIL and her family arriving for the weekend, they were all coming for our low key wedding that we had to postpone due to legal advice in France (long story) so i get the JOY of a full-on DP's family experience as well as a cancelled wedding. FML!! Hopefully it won't be too bad though (fingers crossed) and I just can't even think about what happens if we get told anything scary at the scan today....

socktastic · 24/01/2019 07:00

Does anyone use the maternity notes app? I'm getting increasingly irritated by it. Every single test I've had is listed there but every single result is unpublished which means I still don't know my downs screening results! Bloods taken at 12+3 And I'm now 18+2! Got 20 week scan on Tuesday at 19 weeks so will speak to them about it then buy I'm really pissed off that I'm looking at nothing but blank results!

On another note, I think I'm finally feel I better but really not feeling much if anything movement wise. There are some wiggles but could just as easily be wind or muscle spasms. I'd have though as this is my second I would have felt more by now.

Great news on all the scans this week. I have mine tomorrow afternoon.

SilverSister · 24/01/2019 07:22

@toomanyflatwhites My scan is today too. Glad I don't have to also contend with an army of in-laws though!

WeeBean · 24/01/2019 07:40

Great news on the scans so far! Good luck to those still to have them! Mine isn't until Feb 7th but we have our 16 week appointment (I'm 19w tomorrow!) this evening and it ties in with our very first antenatal class, which they run with the appointments. No idea what to expect!

annihall · 24/01/2019 08:27

@toomanyflatwhites @SilverSister my scan is also this afternoon. I'm somewhere in between excited and anxious haha. We know the gender already (hoping they will confirm this, otherwise our son will have to wear pink onesies). So many people said so many different things about this scan today. Hoping for a nice sonographer who is explaining what's going on as my 12 week one wasn't a great experience - she didn't say a word and when I asked if everything's ok she slowly said 'seems like it' what wasn't too reassuring

Napssavelives · 24/01/2019 08:44

My husband ended our marriage last bight and it’s my 20 week scan in one hour and I’m here alone . Hand holds appreciated

Changingagain · 24/01/2019 08:48

Napssavelives I'm so sorry he's putting you through that at this time. I hope the scan goes well.

fee1234 · 24/01/2019 09:10

@Napssavelives so sorry to hear that. It will be incredibly difficult but try and focus on that little person on the screen. You will get through this xx
