@Fabuluce

Thanks for asking, we are still not great unfortunately..
DP has been a star and working from home so he can look after us..
We haven't moved off the sofa really, dd has had half a bowl of porridge, sachet of pudding and some raisins all day! (Still a lot more than me tho)
Gave in and took some paracetamol and they helped me get an hour sleep!
My sister dropped round a bouquet of flowers 🥰

Best of luck with ur apt.. forgive me if I missed something but why a cardiology apt?

stellarfox · 21/01/2019 16:37

@Heebyjeeby99 I don’t think we get that form until your 25 week midwife appointment. That’s what I’ve been told and what I told my employer

Fabuluce · 21/01/2019 16:44

You poor thing that sounds rubbish. There's some really rotten bugs doing the rounds at the moment aren't there. A few friends of mine from my October baby bus have got toys with very raised temps, barely eating or drinking for up to a week. The only plus side is that they're sleeping lots.

Fetal cardiac scan is because I have underlying auto-immune issues (I have no symptoms but have high anti-Ro antibodies which means at some point it's likely I may get an auto-Immune disease) there's a possibility that the baby may have heart issues. DS was monitored closely (weekly dopplers and extra scans and an ECG a couple of days after he was born ) but he was absolutely fine so I'm hoping the same thing will happen with this wriggly little thing. 🤞🏻

@Heebyjeeby99 I'm getting my MATB1 next week when I'm 22 weeks

Spargle · 21/01/2019 18:06

@Heebyjeeby99 I got mine at my “16-week” midwife appointment, when I was 18+1. I didn’t ask for it - I’m self-employed, mostly, so my boss (DH) has known about my pregnancy for a while, and is pretty relaxed about the leave date. I’ll need it for whatever maternity pay I’m going to get (government maximum, hopefully - not much at all!), but I’ve got to sort out my tax situation first!

Kescilly · 21/01/2019 18:37

Pushchair is coming tomorrow! I'm so excited.

toasterstrudle · 21/01/2019 18:50

@Heebyjeeby99 I'm in exactly the same boat - scan Weds and no hint of a bump. Fingers crossed for both of us!

@Bigonesmallone3 hope you feel better soon, sounds rotten.

I got my MatB1 at my 22ish week app with my midwife last preg, haven't got it yet.

I have a temperature of 39.7 in despite of paracetamol, when do u give in and seek advice! Surely there's not a lot that can be done??

coastergirl · 21/01/2019 19:43

I was asked "that" question at work today... "Are you going to feed the baby yourself?"

I replied "nah I'll let the lady down the road do it". 😂

MadeInCornwallx3 · 21/01/2019 19:44

@Bigonesmallone3 Have you tried NHS direct? Maybe they can offer some advice, you might need antibiotics?

Also Paracetamol to help reduce temperature I think.

Good luck to everyone having scans this week. Fingers crossed for all of you I'm sure all
will be fine. X

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 21/01/2019 19:52

@coastergirl for PM! Grin

Heyha · 21/01/2019 19:53

Today I've had an interesting mix of colleagues going "ooh look how much you're showing" and kids almost falling over in shock when I tell them I'll be ditching them at May half term 😂

Also a comedy side note for anyone feeling down or ill...if you buy a manual breast pump because it's on offer and you're picking up items as you see them now, when DP dares you to try it don't be surprised if you actually manage to get a dribble of milk out 😳

LauralovesLuke · 21/01/2019 20:21

@heyha I properly lolled at that

CrazyCowLady · 21/01/2019 21:30

@Fabuluce Yes, have had a wiggler too! I'm 20/40 tomorrow and have had a roly-poly baby in there for a while, but today much more!! Maybe its a 19+6 thing?! Movements still irregular, somedays I'll only feel one or two kicks, but others 10+.

@Bigonesmallone3 Please seek advice! Either the number to call on the front of your notes in case of emergency (probs the labour ward or triage in your maternity unit), or NHS direct, who might be a bit more general in their advice. Fingers crossed you feel better soon (and that temp comes down!!)

I am not at all organised for anything and have bought nothing (except maternity clothes). Have a bag of random freebies from a friend, all the reusable nappies arriving this week (also borrowed from same friend!) and thats it. A few bits of clothes from others here and there, but mostly for 3m+. I was hoping to totally wing it with mostly freebies and I'm sure thats what boobs are for, right?! But have actually started thinking I will have to buy things for the new person.

Still hanging on until after anomaly scan on Weds though, just in case...

fee1234 · 22/01/2019 07:59

I've noticed the movements getting much stronger this week, I've also noticed he's kicking down at what feels like my bum area which can make me jump up while I'm at my desk! Such a weird feeling.

I need to let my work know about maternity leave dates soon, I'm thinking of stopping officially at 38 weeks and taking annual leave from 36. It's so hard to judge how you might feel in 12 weeks though.

Fabuluce · 22/01/2019 09:35

I've never had kicking in my bum area but the fanny daggers/lightening vag? Oh hell yeah! 😂

stellarfox · 22/01/2019 10:04

When is your next midwife appointment after your 20 week scan? Mine isn’t until 25 weeks but it sounds like some of you have appointments at 22 weeks?

fee1234 · 22/01/2019 10:09

@stellarfox I've got one at 22 weeks. I'm in west of Scotland, I know it can really vary by area

Kescilly · 22/01/2019 10:10

I think mine is at 25 weeks. I’m 22 weeks tomorrow and I know I won’t meet with her again for several weeks.

I have a scan tomorrow to check the heart and things they couldn’t see at the 20 week scan. Suddenly feeling nervous again! 😬

Also the pushchair/travel system just arrived in about ten boxes and there’s no space to move in the hallway anymore. What have we done?!

HJ82 · 22/01/2019 10:40

@coastergirl lol, what is wrong with people? How have we lost our way so much!? Birth and breastfeeding are so natural and people view as a medical thing or gross etc. Bizarre!

LauralovesLuke · 22/01/2019 10:54

Hi all, just had a midwife appointment - 18 weeks today - should they have weighed me???

Kescilly · 22/01/2019 10:59

@LauralovesLuke I’ve only been weighed twice. Once at the booking appointment, once at the NT test.

coastergirl · 22/01/2019 11:17

@HJ82 well in a way for me it really is a medical thing. I'll be having another ELCS and I can't breastfeed due to meds. I just meant that regardless of the method, I will be feeding him myself (or his dad will be etc).

HJ82 · 22/01/2019 11:20

@coastergirl oh I see, I didn't realise. I just thought people were asking you randomly! Like, are you choosing to not feed your baby with your milk. People do ask that!!!
