@excitedmama scan for me tomorrow too. eeeek. hope yours goes well!

movements are definite now and getting stronger, only on one side though so am wondering if one of the placentas is anterior. Thank goodness for MN and the wealth of info I have picked up here! Just hoping thats the reason for one sided movements rather than just one of two moving. DP felt two of the stronger kicks earlier too yay!

Kescilly · 15/01/2019 23:51

Coastergirl, how did your GTT go? I've got mine on a Thursday and I'm dreading it.

Naps, how are you doing? Please let us know if there's anything we can do to support you.

coastergirl · 16/01/2019 07:11

@Kescilly it was ok thank you. They said if I didn't get a call by last night then the results were fine. No call. I'm very surprised, especially considering how awful I feel. Good luck with yours.

Muddling through . He’s going away again next week and for a couple of days this week . I don’t know what to do with the kids, usually they talk to him before bed (prompted by me a lot of the time) but I kinda feel he can’t have his cake and eat it and if he wants to remove him self from the family and the kids don’t want to talk to him I’m not going to convince them too. Surely when/if he leaves this wouldn’t happen everyday. That’s not healthy is it. I don’t know. I’m not trying to use the kids against him, I’m trying to do what is best for them and if they aren’t asking maybe starting with small degrees of separation is a good thing

HJ82 · 16/01/2019 07:38

@excitedmama good luck with your scan today

@Pigriver aspirin? Do you have clotting situation, I'm sorry you have to take that. Make sure you get coated tablets for you stomach lining! Can be nasty stuff. Why are you taking folic acid in the 2nd trim? I eased off mine as my levels were too high with the tablets. I eat a lot of greens! But still on a wholefood prenatal with normal dose of folate for b12 absorption. I've just started taking the dissolvable mag365 (magnesium) as I started getting some leg aches. They stopped straight away. It's a godsend for any of you with any muscle situations ❤️

Pigriver · 16/01/2019 07:44

@Hj82 no I have kidney disease. I think they just give it to anyone high risk here. To ensure a good bloody supply to the okacenta I was told.
The iron is coated luckily!
I thought you should take folic acid until 6 months....will have to do some reading

HJ82 · 16/01/2019 07:59

@Pigriver oh 😢 hope you're ok and it all works well. It can't hurt to take folic long term. But it's only super important in the first 12 weeks when bubs spine is developing- so I've read - take care

Kescilly · 16/01/2019 08:25

@HJ82 I’ve been told to take folic acid throughout pregnancy because of an underlying condition that I carry. I was surprised, but I am doing as told!

Bigonesmallone3 · 16/01/2019 09:13

So I got to my MW appointment this morning..
Only 24hrs early 🤦‍♀️
Trial run for tomorrow then 🙄

Kescilly · 16/01/2019 09:31

I feel like an idiot, I just fell down the stairs for no reason. It was only a few steps and I was on my back so I think it’s okay, right?

WeeBean · 16/01/2019 09:32

Istef, I was told at my gender scan that the placenta is at the front (which I gather is anterior) and haven't felt anything at nearly 18 weeks. I thought I had before the scan but was never convinced and haven't felt anything since and they told me it could be a while longer before I felt anything so don't panic! Baby was moving loads in the scan and I felt nothing!

Has anyone else had anterior placenta? When did you feel movements? My doctor said it could be 22-24 weeks without knowing the placenta was at the front.

Heebyjeeby99 · 16/01/2019 09:38

@excitedmama @WeeBean I also have an anterior placenta. My MW told me I might not feel anything until 25 weeks! I'm 19 weeks now and no bump or movements but I heard the heartbeat yesterday on a doppler and she was wriggling around at the 16 week scan. 20 week scan next Wednesday and just counting down the days.

Good luck for those today, let us know how you get on x

WeeBean · 16/01/2019 09:54

@heebyjeeby99 seems it could be a while yet then, I can't wait to feel wee kicks! I'm more relaxed about as I've had both a scan and Doppler recently and at least I know why I'm not feeling anything.

Good luck for your 20 week scan next week! I'm sure it'll fly in! Mine isn't until Feb 7th and my 16 week appointment isn't until next Thursday, nearly 3 weeks late!

SilverSister · 16/01/2019 10:28

@Kescilly
Hope you're not too bruised after your fall.
I fell over on Friday last week - just walking along and lost my balance. I fell only into my knee so I didn't worry about it. I had midwife appointment on Monday anyway and mentioned it then. She said no worries but if I fall again on my back or on my bump then I should call the midwife helpline and they ask a series of questions to see if you need to come in for a check e.g have you had any bleeding? So might be worth a call for you, even if just to put your mind at rest?

fee1234 · 16/01/2019 13:19

@Kescilly hope you aren't too sore, I also fell this week but on to my side. Midwife said it would take a lot to harm baby, you'd have to fall onto your stomach. Just keep an eye out for any bleeding and rest up x

Kescilly · 16/01/2019 13:33

Thanks @SilverSister and @fee1234. I wasn’t worried because it was on my back and I’m actually not sore, so I figured it couldn’t be too bad. But now I’m second-guessing myself! I’ve just looked and I don’t think I even have the number for my midwife, I could maybe call the surgery to get it. 😕

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 16/01/2019 13:40

@Kescilly

Don’t you have the midwife number on the front/inside front page of your notes?

Bigonesmallone3 · 16/01/2019 13:53

Went to my MW apt this morning..
only 24hrs early 🤦‍♀️

Kescilly · 16/01/2019 14:03

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut no, but there’s a number for an antenatal assessment unit. Should I try calling that? I don’t know what any of these departments are. My notes say to contact the midwife or GP, but also have a page with who you should call for various concerns and the midwife isn’t listed there.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 16/01/2019 14:19

Just give them a bell, and if they say “midwife” then get the number off them.

Some populous areas have “Midwife teams” so if this applies to you you want to make sure you get the right details IYSWIM? The hospital should know this x

lstef · 16/01/2019 15:17

Hey all, scan went well :) two wriggly babies, both healthy and growing as expected, and all the bits looked normal, I have one placenta anterior (front) for right twin and one posterior for left twin - which fits with the movements I have felt - I can't feel anything on the right side, but left side is strong. its almost exactly down the midline where I can/cant feel movements. So relieved.

Oh and we have a girl and a boy - so happy!!!

@weebean - yep, one of the placentas is at the front hence why i cant feel much that side. Was such a relief to hear her say it!

WeeBean · 16/01/2019 15:19

@Istef, yay a boy and a girl! Congrats! Glad all was good with the scan.

annihall · 16/01/2019 15:59

@lstef that's great news, so pleased for you :)

MadeInCornwallx3 · 16/01/2019 19:39

Congratulations @lstef that's brilliant news!

Fabuluce · 16/01/2019 19:49

Ooh @lstef you've hit the jackpot there, well done!!
