I had a lot of comments today at work about my bump - it seems to have really popped over Christmas and it's suddenly very obvious! I have to admit I absolutely love it ☺️

I'm literally going max 1-2 hours between movements (she's wiggling away now) so I've got used to it - which is a little concerning as I know I'll be worried if it stops, whereas that's actually very normal at this stage!

LauralovesLuke · 08/01/2019 18:22

Ooooo all your comments about your babies moving are just so lovely🎉🎉

I can't wait to feel mine!!!!

Spargle · 08/01/2019 18:23

I think I started feeling movements at 16+2, but I might actually not have felt any movements at all yet - it’s all so gentle at the moment. 16+6 today, and think I felt a few just a few minutes ago, but it could just be twitches... Looking forward to feeling one which definitely feels like a baby!

spottypyjamas · 08/01/2019 19:10

Yes bump has defo popped out here this week too! Im 18 weeks. But back pain has tagged along. I suffered v badly last pregnancy so I was appreciating each week that went by pain free but think those might be up. Not much to be done really. I went to a physio group course last pregnancy and their answer to everything was "just get your husband to do that for you" they weren't in the real world!
Feeling the odd flinch too I think, can't wait to feel more but anterior placenta again so it muffles everything!
I'm not on the fb group so would look to see some bump pics in here!

After the high of yesterday comes the low of today where I managed to lose it at both children, lose it at DH, barely barely hang onto it at work (and I was WFH ffs) and it’s another evening of DH wanting to “get things done” (which even though I know I shouldn’t I feel guilt sitting doing zero when he’s building a shoe rack and washing the dishes) and I feel like screaming at everything just to do one.

The person that was most likely to offer on our house is ghosting the estate agent, we have had forty - yes FORTY - viewings and not a single fucking offer and I am at the end of my rope with absolutely all of it.

I feel like a crap wife, a fuckawful mum and a fat, lazy narwhal whale.

I’m supposed to to my “Yoga with Adriene” video tonight but I feel like if she waffles on I might punch the screen.

Anyone else feeling absolutely mental today

LauralovesLuke · 08/01/2019 19:58

Awww that's a proper bump @spottypyjamas!!

@PaulHollywood - my patience is definitely a lot thinner than before I got pregnant. should think you're feeling very tired and fed up! Your comments about the yoga lady waffling did make me giggle though 🙈

LauralovesLuke · 08/01/2019 19:59

Also I just read this in my pregnancy book and the twin comments are so fucking cute !!!!!

Kescilly · 08/01/2019 20:14

@rollerskaterdata I hope that everything went okay today! I know we have a few ladies being scanned tomorrow, good luck to you as well.

Can anyone tell me what to expect at the 20 week scan? Do I need a full bladder? Does it take much longer than the 12 week scan? I think the midwife also said something about getting a whooping cough vaccine after the scan, is that right?

Pigriver · 08/01/2019 20:16

I went back to work on Monday and look ridiculously pregnant for only 16 weeks! No hiding it now.
I've just booked a gender scan for Thursday as dh and I were too upset by the death of MIL to take in the first. We'll have ours DS(3) with us so it will be interesting to see what he thinks as he doesn't know as yet. I'm hoping it will stop him climbing on me so much Hmm

Spargle · 08/01/2019 20:32

@Kescilly the 20-week scan wants a half-full bladder, I believe. I think it’s supposed to take about 30 minutes. Where I am, they try to vaccinate you straight after your scans - flu at the 12-week scan, and whooping cough at the 20-week scan. The person with the vaccines had the day off when I had my 12-week scan, though, so I ended up going to Tesco!

lstef · 08/01/2019 20:42

@kescilly - my scan letter asks me to arrive with a full bladder - finish drinking 1L of water an hour before appt - very specific and last time it was an uncomfortable drive/wait for the scan. It will take longer than 12 week as they look at limbs, organs, brain, spine etc. Ive got two to scan so I guess mine will be double time!

Ive got a proper bump too but its quite high, higher than i expected it to be. Im already uncomfortable sitting in some positions and have to have smaller portions of food!

Napssavelives · 08/01/2019 20:46

Sorry I’ve been quiet. ‘D’H told me on Friday he wasn’t happy and needed some space to figure out what he needs and has gone to a hotel. There is more too it than this including him saying he has felt like this for a while even when we were trying. I’m devastated, I’m angry and I’m really struggling to hold it together

MadeInCornwallx3 · 08/01/2019 21:11

Oh @Napssavelives I'm so sorry. What an awful thing to go through while you're pregnant.

Here for a hand hold and anything else you need. X

hexagon01 · 08/01/2019 21:14

Oh @napssavelives I’m so sorry what an utterly shit situation. Do you have someone to talk to?

Napssavelives · 08/01/2019 21:24

Thankfully I already have a therapist and lots of good friends. ‘D’h Is off to speak to a relationship therapist tomorrow morning, it’s all so out of the blue and everybody said it doesn’t sound like him and so out of character. I wonder if he’s depressed but I don’t want false hope. I’m deveststed and struggling to eat and drink and sleep. All feels like a bad dream and trying to hold it together and keep normality for my other 2 kids who have no idea and thing he’s just working away

Napssavelives · 08/01/2019 21:24

Heart break is the worst. I honestly don’t know how to get through the day

Bigonesmallone3 · 08/01/2019 21:28

@Napssavelives
Oh u poor thing Thanks
Please do try to keep ur strength up, ur children and that little bean need u xx

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/01/2019 21:39

Heavens above @Napssavelives that’s awful.

Kescilly · 08/01/2019 21:40

@Napssavelives I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. Let us know if we can support you in any way. Sending you hugs.

@Spargle and @Istef thanks for the info. I didn’t have a letter with mine, I think they just booked it at the hospital. I might go with half full because it was excruciating last time, especially with the wait.

lstef · 08/01/2019 22:03

@napssavelives - ah shit, how awful. Sad sending strength to get through your days xx

Heyha · 08/01/2019 22:10

@crazycowlady could well be! Asda not know for their fine tailoring I guess 😀 I'm enjoying the roomy waistband anyway

@napssavelives hope your partner gets his head round what a rubbish thing to do while you're pregnant, hopefully he's just having some part of crisis of confidence?

Napssavelives · 09/01/2019 04:10

I don’t know what’s going on in his head. Everybody has said this isn’t him, that it doesn’t sound like him. I can’t sleep and I miss him. I feel so pathetic, I wish I could be strong but I can’t, I love him

Curlywurly3 · 09/01/2019 07:19

@napssavelives it's gut wrenching and all consuming and I am so so sorry you are going through this while pregnant as well. I really hope he is just having a wobble and soon realises he misses you too xxx

Torsz · 09/01/2019 07:34

@Napssavelives I'm so sorry, you must be crushed 😭 we're all here for you and I hope he comes to his senses - and if not, it'll take time but you can do this!xx

rollerskaterdata · 09/01/2019 07:54

@Napssavelives I'm so sorry to hear that, I hope you have a strong support network around you xx

I had my 20 week scan yesterday. All is well, although it took 45 mins because baby was in an awkward position and I had an experienced sonographer scan me first followed by a trainee. Just glad it's over and done with now!
