@pinklady89 yay! Fingers tightly crossed for you!

@queenoffox I'm the same thinking the early sickness must be boy as nothing with my girls. And thinking/hoping it might be twins because I'm old/overweight and got a strong bfp at 9dpo and reasonable non squinted at 8dpo. I'd love twins!!!

EverythingNow · 18/12/2018 15:39

But there have never been twins in either family so very unlikely!

canonlyhopexo · 18/12/2018 15:45

@EverythingNow my colleague is pregnant with twins. They don't run in the family. She's 35. She just released two eggs the month she got pregnant as natures way of giving better chances to reproduce. So you might have two bubbas in there! X

EverythingNow · 18/12/2018 15:52

@canonlyhopexo I'm 39 and this will be number 4. We are considering number 5 due to the gap between this one and my older dc (18,9 and will be 8) so I would love twins as it took 19m to get a bfp this time and I'll be 40 when this one's born.

That said I'll just be happy with a baby full stop after the wait and these anxious first few months!

DippyDiplodocus · 18/12/2018 15:53

Hello all, may I join in too?

I'm 26 & been married to DH for 3 months, together for 3.5 years.

Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with my (our) third baby.

Our first DS1 was sadly stillborn in May 2017. Our second baby DD1 was born 27th July this year, so she's around five months now.

We weren't actively trying or preventing, just allowing nature to do its thing and here we are. Internet calculator is saying a due date of the 23rd August but I'll probably be induced again at 37 weeks as I was with DD, which would make the arrival date 2nd August!

All a bit surreal at the moment. I feel incredibly tired today but otherwise ok.

DippyDiplodocus · 18/12/2018 15:54

Oh also, just to add, took a home pregnancy test, cheapie internet one and it was very strong positive to say I've not actually missed my period yet, (due on tomorrow).

August 2019 Babies, part 2!
ejne7 · 18/12/2018 15:56

@Blii my elder two will be the same age as yours when this one is due, and I was also having that bit of sadness about them not sharing a school! Consoling myself with the fact our primary has a nursery that takes from age 2 though so we should get a couple of years of all three on the school run. (I still feel like I'm getting ahead of myself posting stuff like this... but fingers crossed.)

orangefolly · 18/12/2018 15:59

I have such bad scanxiety for tomorrow! Really willing it to get here and to see a little heartbeat 🤞🤞🤞

What is reassuring me a bit is a8 am feeling much more nauseous now than I did before. Have just mainlined some twiglets in an effort not to be sick! Does anyone else feel hungry at the same time as sick?

canonlyhopexo · 18/12/2018 15:59

@EverythingNow this is our first pregnancy and so hopefully first baby and I've already said no more with the way I'm feeling at the moment!

@DippyDiplodocus congratulations on your news. Sorry to hear of your previous loss. I'm due between those two dates! 13th Aug.

DippyDiplodocus · 18/12/2018 16:01

Thank you @canonlyhopexo

It's a bit nerve wracking but it's not really sunk in properly yet. I was terrified for most of my pregnancy with DD1

canonlyhopexo · 18/12/2018 16:03

I can only imagine how you must be feeling @DippyDiplodocus it is a nerve racking time as it is without having previous history like yourself. Will you have extra monitoring?

lmason17 · 18/12/2018 16:05

Hey everyone! I've been lurking on this thread for a week or so since finding out I was pregnant - I'm now 6 weeks, due on 13 Aug :)

It'll be mine and my OH's first baby (and my second pregnancy, sadly already had a MC 2 years ago) - we weren't going to start trying until January, so this was a bit of a happy surprise!

Wasn't going to comment, but you all seem so nice and supportive and I have absolutely no friends I know currently who are even close to having a baby! So thought it would be good to have somewhere to chat!

L x

DippyDiplodocus · 18/12/2018 16:07

I think I will do @canonlyhopexo
When pregnant with DD1 I had extra scans and saw the consultant too. I think I had scans every 2 weeks towards the end and wasn't allowed to go further than 37 weeks as DS died at around 38 weeks Sad
This will be my third pregnant Christmas in a row!

canonlyhopexo · 18/12/2018 16:10

It sounds like a horrible time for you both @DippyDiplodocus hopefully you will be just as well looked after this time. I'm really suffering with sickness so not holding out for a very nice day this year!

DippyDiplodocus · 18/12/2018 16:14

It's a bit of a mix of emotions really @canonlyhopexo
Of course it is exciting but I found as I got towards the end of my pregnancy with DD I had terrible anxiety that she wouldn't make it either.
I was in and out of hospital having her checked on, mostly to reassure me. Thankfully the hospital were fantastic and so understanding and now she's lying on me snoring ☺️

I don't think you really realise how much can go wrong until it happens to you and then it's hard to imagine anything ever going right!

DippyDiplodocus · 18/12/2018 16:15

And sorry you're feeling so poorly Sad I got sickness with both of my pregnancies. Just waiting for it to start again 😩 so unpleasant!

KMic · 18/12/2018 16:18

Welcome and congrats @lmason17

ss3ajb · 18/12/2018 16:35

Welcome @lmason17 and congratulations! I was not intending to post but it's really nice to have a space to share things particularly when no one else really knows - mine was a surprise but having got over the shock I'm worrying now something bad will happen! It's all very up and down 🤣 I keep trying to contain my excitement but it's hard.

@orangefolly have all my fingers crossed for you tomo let us know - sending lots of positive wishes

@dippydiplodocus - welcome! Am so sorry to hear about your loss hopefully you will get lots of TLC and reduced sickness - I have not had any yet and I fluctuate better worrying something is wrong to relief it's not come to worry - am only 6 weeks so may be too early yet

I think I'm going to sneak off and eat s mince pie or two - must be some perks to pregnancy over Christmas - hearing pate was on the banned list was a cruel blow 🤣

lmason17 · 18/12/2018 16:43

Thanks all for your kind welcome! Yes, @ss3ajb, I just had to post to people who understand! I'm not doing very well explaining to my OH just how crazy tired I am - he has been wonderful and helpful but keeps doing totally unreasonable things like suggest we watch a programme that starts at 8pm ;) jk!

ss3ajb · 18/12/2018 17:03

@Imason17 we were watching a recorded apprentice last night about 9.30 I started to nod off my DH said do you think you can stay awake it watch the end - I was laughing as I drifted off 😂🤣😂🤣😂 he is being so lovely but is def surprised about my need to sleep so much 😴

KBloom · 18/12/2018 17:08

I have just found Mums Net and this thread! Due date is 3rd August and this is my 1st baby. I have no idea what i am doing or supposed to do but i sent off a self referral form to the midwife today to get an appointment. Feeling pretty clueless right now!

ss3ajb · 18/12/2018 17:25

@KBloom hello and welcome! I am also first baby (surprised but excited) and very clueless! I handed my papers into too - was hoping for a bit more than 'we'll be in touch' 🤣 O well hopefully get an appointment soon

Have been a bit queasy today with a funny taste in my mouth am pleased to see more signs the cramping has been worrying me as it can be quite sore at times x

Dolleymix · 18/12/2018 18:03

@orangefolly yes I am in a constant cycle of hunger/nausea!! I have found forcing myself to constantly eat staves off the sickness for approx an hour!!

Good luck at your scan tomorrow x

avacadooo · 18/12/2018 18:15

Omg I spent the day napping and moaning about life and come on and there's so many newbies! Hello!!

Word of advice to everyone don't go to Asda when you feel really sick, there was a foot long pig in blanket that just about sent me over the edge 😂
But I found some non alcoholic bubbly 🙌🙌

Dolleymix · 18/12/2018 18:40

That's a big pig in a blanket!!

I work next door to Dominoes....🤢 the smell is wafting through the walls I swear!
