@RiseYeSunkenShips yeah the midwife called me to book my prescan app which is on the 7th where I get my yellow folder (I think ) and she mentioned it to me on the phone! I'm seeing her next week so I'll confirm if I need to so I can get it done with my other blood tests I need before my 12 week on the 23rd and share anything I find out x

emma1224 · 31/12/2018 00:20

@milly2000 yeah that's what I was worried about because I've been so ill and sick and lost weight I don't feel like getting flu would be great atm but I'll confirm when I see her x

starryeyed13 · 31/12/2018 00:21

@7yearslater so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself. All the best for the future ❤️

milly2000 · 31/12/2018 00:23

Better safe than sorry @emma1224 🙈

starryeyed13 · 31/12/2018 00:23

@ss3ajb I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, as you say it's a very normal symptom. Take it easy though!

Totally with you re. NYE. I just cannot be bothered this year despite having invites to a couple of parties.

@RaindropsRoses Ahh that sounds like a good idea. Let us know how it goes, and fingers crossed all goes well 😊

Carlyisamum · 31/12/2018 00:29

@7yearslater I'm cramping on a daily basis (no stopping though thankfully) and both midwife and gp say as long as I'm not bleeding I'm fine. I feel like I'm becoming one with mh hot water bottle!

Fed up with my boobs though (as a not overly bosomed woman, I never thought I would be so miserable with bigger boobs!) as they are mega uncomfy. Also hating this current spell of insomnia!

Baby is due 4 days after my wedding anniversary, dashing my hopes of a wee getaway for a long weekend, but I am positive the wee bean will be worth it!

@Carlyisamum I second the insomnia 😩

Blueberry2018 · 31/12/2018 03:34

Anyone else awake? Eugh ☹️

Twitwooo · 31/12/2018 03:40

@Blueberry2018 went to pee a second time and now feel too sick to fall asleep !

Blueberry2018 · 31/12/2018 03:45

@Twitwooo I hate being awake at stupid times! My husband is getting up for work at 5.30am so i know once i eventually drop off he'll wake me by accident getting up anyway!! How are you? Apart from the nausea- im with you on that one ☹️ x

Twitwooo · 31/12/2018 03:50

@Blueberry2018 the tiredness is doing me in. I seem to be going to bed with my nearly 2 year old every evening at around 8.30 which I really need to stop doing since I do my work when she is asleep! She also still wakes up at least twice a night still which doesn't help things

Oh and these last couple of days I have been feeling so so cold in the evenings Confused that is a new one on me

Blueberry2018 · 31/12/2018 03:59

@Twitwooo Yes ive been getting the feeling cold thing at night, how funny. Ive currently got a perforated ear drum and a cold so i assumed it was that but perhaps not! Defo not like a fever. Ive been in bed by 8.30pm too but no children, will be a ftm so a little easier for me, although this tends to happen then, im awake through the night 🙄.

Twitwooo · 31/12/2018 04:07

@Blueberry2018 ah that sounds tough! See if you still get the cold feeling once you're better hehe. Two days ago I was under the covers with a fleece on and still couldn't quite get warm.

I used to laugh with my husband when I was pregnant with my first that I didn't realise the night wakings would start before you actually have the baby Grin he sleeps like a log. The most I get out of him is some mumbling and an arm over my face as I settle dd or get back in bed

Blueberry2018 · 31/12/2018 04:10

@Twitwooo thats so funny. My hubby just snores like a trooper, im constantly punching him to roll over which gives me about 10mins relief until it starts again! Yep i usually sleep through no issues but this pregnancy really is keeping me up, not that im moaning! After 2mc im just pleased to be preg!

Twitwooo · 31/12/2018 04:21

@Blueberry2018 I hate this wait until 12wk scan, and I've been fortunate enough to not have suffered a loss so can't imagine how much longer it must feel.

Am now releasing some vile gas out of my bum😭 husband turned over and mumbled 'I love you' in his sleep Hmm I don't think he'd be saying that he he was awake!!

RiseYeSunkenShips · 31/12/2018 05:53

@Twitwooo I’ve been the same! I had to pull over and get out of my car because I thought I was going to be sick the other day the smell was that bad Blush

@emma1224 I might ring the gp and ask if I should have it too. Not sure the midwifes clinic would be able to do anything until after my booking in. I rang their clinic to book my appointment and asked about when I could get the maternity exemption certificate and the receptionist got really funny with me saying I couldn’t have one until they knew i was definitely pregnant like I was trying to get something I shouldn’t have! Doctor didn’t test me because I’d already done a few home tests and last time I got one before my 12 week scan and no one hd tested me or anything that time Hmm

I only asked cos the doctor had prescribed me higher dose folic acid and aspirin (on top of ear infection meds). I bought aspirin from home bargains and just paid the prescription for the rest!

@Blueberry2018 hope you’re feeling better soon, I know how painful ear problems can be, are you able to take anything other than paracetamol?

UnicornDust17 · 31/12/2018 06:08

@emma1224 I was given flu jab and pneumonia jab a month ago when I first went to the GP. Midwife also checked at booking in appointment id had flu jab.

Went to the loo at 530 and haven't been able to get back to sleep Confused

Bakingabean · 31/12/2018 06:38

Another early morning for me too. Woke up at midnight and 6am to pee. Can't get back to sleep.

@emma1224 The midwife advised a flu jab at my booking in appt when I was 6 and a bit weeks. I actually got the booking in appt well before I could get an appt at my gp (3week wait) and I booked in/self referred on the same day. So got the flu jab when I finally saw the gp.

marajade12 · 31/12/2018 07:42

Good luck with your scan @Bakingabean, I have one too today 🤞

Blueberry2018 · 31/12/2018 08:03

@RiseYeSunkenShips I am on paracetamol only. Doctor said as ear drum had already burst, infection is past the worst of it, so to continue with paracetamol but if at any point it gets worse or i get a fever i have to go back for antibiotics. Its a little better today but i got this annoying cough now which has made my ribs ache from coughing in the night.

@Twitwooo thats soo funny, Im doing that all the time atm and my husband definitely does not appreciate it.... i call it getting even 😁

Moncwf · 31/12/2018 08:11

@twitwooo and @blueberry2018 I'm suffering with that as well! Seems like by the evening is trapped and uncomfortable and works it's way out at night....
I remember having horrific trapped wind in my first pregnancy but I'm sure it was much later on. Ahh pregnancy. So glamorous.

Twitwooo · 31/12/2018 08:11

Well literally ended up lying in bed gassing myself until half 5 😂

I'll try to book my first midwife appointment today and ask about flu jab too, wasn't sure how far into winter they offer those!

Blueberry2018 · 31/12/2018 08:16

@Moncwf Yes i used to think it was cramp and panicked but i now know its just gas!! Sooo much better when i get rid of it!

@Twitwooo I had my flu jab at 5wks preg, sure they are still offering them now.

ScotsBaby2 · 31/12/2018 08:33

It's a miracle. I didn't wake in the night. However I didn't get to sleep until after midnight.

Cross your fingers ladies that my oil delivery arrives today. It's so cold in my house.
