@RaindropsRoses I thought I was 6+6 and had a scan today but turned out to be 6+2 and saw a heartbeat. Earlier I felt really positive and reassured but tbh I am trying my best not to get too excited until the baby is actually here. I've had so many friends go through early and late miscarriages, and two friends who had stillbirths, so personally I'm trying hard to keep my feet on the ground. I know that sounds pessimistic but I guess everyone has different ways of coping and processing things.

starryeyed13 · 30/12/2018 20:52

@ScotsBaby2 I think I sent you a PM earlier - did you get it? I'm not entirely sure on PMs on Mumsnet haha 🙈

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 20:54

Those that have pm about the Facebook group I have sent an invite but it will probably appear in your email inbox rather than Facebook notifications.

OctoberGirl91 · 30/12/2018 20:57

Yes I think I will do same I have my appointment turntable with midwife on Thursday and will ask for a scan around 8/9 weeks if possible or we can self refer to EPU May ring them, would rather go to hospital if I can then pay for a private scan.

Just have to keep taking it day by day, things only went wrong 5 days before I was told baby was gone I had pinky discharge/spotting stopped for 2 days then brown discharge for one day then bright red bleed - no pain. 😒 such an anxious time.

I have 2 DD 6 & 2 so everyone keeps saying it's more likely to be a one off occurrence which I'm hoping it is, but after loss it's so hard. Stay strong everyone xx

RaindropsRoses · 30/12/2018 21:12

@starryeyed13 so glad the scan went well though. Seeing the heartbeat at 6 weeks is a great sign too

UnicornDust17 · 30/12/2018 21:16

@chiatta when I had DS1 we were living in a tiny studio flat, newborn babies don't actually need that much. A change mat on a table is fine, i had to do nappy changes standing up due to a c-section, which meant I couldn't bend down very well at first.

Our bathroom was also freezing, so we bought a small top and tail bowl for bath time. You could always get one of those from a nearly new sale, save forking out brand new, if you wanted to bath. Although as others have said, you can get in the shower with a newborn Smile

QuackersMooo · 30/12/2018 21:23

Hi all sorry to hear about the losses. Flowers
I think I may have accidently let slip to mil Hmm I'm sure we will find out when we tell them.
Iv received my letter for my booking in appointment at the end of jan will be about 9 weeks.

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 21:28

@QuackersMooo oooh how did you let slip?

QuackersMooo · 30/12/2018 21:43

It's really boring BlushI was telling her about the hard sell in lush. I know I told the shop assistant but I can't remember if I left that bit out when I told her.

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 21:54

@QuackersMooo I'm full of questions tonight. What did you get in Lush?

QuackersMooo · 30/12/2018 22:00

Bar shampoo and conditioner. If used it a couple of times and it's pretty good so far. Iv wanted to try it for ages but if never made it Inside before because it's always so busy.

7yearslater · 30/12/2018 22:02

Hello ladies - unfortunately I've lost my nugget too so this is the end for me - I'm going to focus all my attention on my 7 year old and accept it's just the 3 of us. Best of luck to you all x

MrsH1990 · 30/12/2018 22:08

So I had my private scan today (Bare in mind I had a nhs one at 6weeks everything fine) but having miscarriages before now... Feel like weight has lifted from me! I'll try and attach a pic xxx according to lmp I had 6th Aug then when had nhs scan they said prob 7th but the sonographer today put me 6th 😍🙈 xxxx

@7yearslater so so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself and rest xxx

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 22:13

@MrsH1990 excellent scan pictures. Look at your little baby! Do you feel a weight lifted?

@QuackersMooo I love their bar shampoo. Makes your hair literally squeaky clean.

Funkyemzie · 30/12/2018 22:14

@MrsH1990 so are those 8 week ones? They are so clear, glad you're feeling like a weight lifted! Xx

clairelee17 · 30/12/2018 22:24

@7yearslater so sorry for your loss xxx

clairelee17 · 30/12/2018 22:25

@MrsH1990 fantastic news! So excited for you! Now wish I went for a private one to calm my nerves but still at odds whether to go for one! Xx

MrsH1990 · 30/12/2018 22:40

Thank you ladies!! I'm over the moon!!

@ScotsBaby2 weight lifted is an understatement! I feel like I can enjoy it now and only 4 weeks to weight until my 12 week one!

@Funkyemzie 8 weeks 5 days she measured me Hun! The pics don't do it justice! Honestly seeing that flickering HB was the best thing ever!

@clairelee17 I would Defo recommend it! It's made me feel so at ease!

xxxx

milly2000 · 30/12/2018 23:27

@MrsH1990 congratulations what amazing photos.

I also had a 6 week scan and was told all was fine but have just booked a private one in 10 days time. I'll be 9+4. I'm hoping it relaxes me a little!

ss3ajb · 30/12/2018 23:48

Just catching up on all the messages as away for NYE without much signal, I am so very sorry to hear the sad news that people have had - my thoughts are with you and I hope you are getting lots of love and care xxxx

I was really worried today as had some (very light) spotting -brown in colour and a tiny amount - only happened once but enough to make me feel quite panicked - I keep reading it's very common but can also be a sign of mc - just have to hope it's ok I guess and try and hang on to my little bean - I keep worrying when my symptoms seem 'better' I .e when my boobs are not as sore etc. I'm supposed to be going out tomo night with friends for NYE but I more and more am not wanting to go - it will be busy and will be home late and am thinking it woukd just be more sensible to stay in the warm! The friends we're going with know so hopefully they will understand - right am going to try to go to sleep and stop worrying! Night ladies sweet dreams

Ps - very up for the face book group will message ☺️

RiseYeSunkenShips · 30/12/2018 23:54

Evening all, I popped on to say hello almost two weeks ago and what with Christmas, sickness, tiredness and ear infection and DD haven’t had chance to catch up.

I’ve got a private early scan booked for next week so fingers crossed all is well. Sorry to hear of others losses Flowers.

I’ve ended up telling my brother and sister as it’s been unavoidable at this time of year! Holding out to tell anyone else until we’ve had the scan tho.

emma1224 · 31/12/2018 00:02

Has anyone been advised to have a flu jab???

RiseYeSunkenShips · 31/12/2018 00:10

@emma1224 nope, I’ve only seen the doctor so far, 2 weeks ago, and she didn’t mention it.
Have you been advised to?

milly2000 · 31/12/2018 00:18

@emma1224 I was advised to have it at my first gp appointment. Had it at 5 weeks. I've had the flu before and if I can avoid I will so thought it was sensible, I'm not sure I would get through having the flu and morning sickness !!
