I'm up for it @ScotsBaby2

Amazing news @starryeyed13 - they might bring your date forward at your next scan. That's what they did with me.

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 11:35

@starryeyed13 good scan news. Did you get a picture to take away?

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 11:36

@Whoopsies how often are you tying pornographer for it to autocorrect to it...?

Brownzy · 30/12/2018 11:37

I'm keen for a Facebook group. I had one with my first pregnancy and we still talk every day. It's actually really lovely.Smile

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 11:45

I've created a secret one on Facebook. I need one friend on Facebook to make the group. If you pm me your email address I'll add you in if you are interested. It's a secret group so no one can see who is in it or see that you are a member.

Brownzy · 30/12/2018 11:49

I'm dying of nausea. My husband has gone to the shop to get me ice cream Grin

Nursiemum27 · 30/12/2018 11:56

Same!!! Havnt been able to move all morning.... need to drag my ass out of bed to go and watch wreck on Ralph now

chiatta · 30/12/2018 11:57

@orangefolly

@clairelee17
I’m in North London too
My update is: been feeling low key nauseous, not hungry but when food is in front of me I shovel it down at lightening speed. Mostly salty stuff I want.
I have my 12 week scan booked but no booking apt yet. My impression of the hospital I’ve chosen is they are very busy! The phone line just rings forever with no answer.
This is my first pregnancy and it doesn’t seem real at all. Our flat is small and I don’t think it has space for a changing table. Is this terrible? Also we only have a shower. Is this terrible?

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 12:01

@chiatta you don't need a changing table. A mat that can go under or behind the couch to be pulled out when needed is all that is required.

You also don't need a bath. A shower is fine and I'm guessing you have a sink? I had many sink baths when I was a child.

Ninunina · 30/12/2018 12:08

@chiatta I never had a changing table, just a changing mat that I put on top of a chest of drawers. It worked perfectly well, and I could move it around as I wanted to.
Re: shower, I know people who showered with their newborn. It's a bit scary at first because they will be slippery, but you get used to it. You can always get a baby bath for the first couple of months til you become more confident with a baby in your arms.

marajade12 · 30/12/2018 12:08

@ScotsBaby2 please add me to the list, I’m due 13th Aug.

I am so nervous about my scan tomorrow 😔

emma1224 · 30/12/2018 12:11

@ScotsBaby2 can i be added to the list please

I'm due 4th of August (at the moment) x

Sunshinerainfollower · 30/12/2018 12:19

Can I join you ladies, due my second on Aug 8th going by online calculators. I was supposed to have my booking in appt on Friday but the system was down so it's rescheduled for next Friday when I'll be 9wks. My body clock must be all over the place because I've been getting evening nausea and wake up starving. Not a fan of these weeks until I actually see something on the scan then I'll relax, for a day Grin

Brownzy · 30/12/2018 12:19

Agree with what everyone has said- you should be grand without a change table. We never used one just changed on the floor with a mat

1Bobbinwinder · 30/12/2018 12:29

My due date is 23rd August! Thanks scotsbaby. Bit anxious cos i feel really normal...can't really believe im pregnant...

Sorry to hear of everyone's losses

1Bobbinwinder · 30/12/2018 12:30

Oh yes and we didnt have a change table and ditched the mat in favour of a towel pretty sharpish too!

QueenofFox · 30/12/2018 12:34

@orangefolly you're not too far from me - Stoke Newington. Are you the Whittington?

I might wait till 12 wks to join a Facebook group, as I rarely go on Facebook anymore and just feels too real. Feeling nervous at moment!

Kileah18 · 30/12/2018 12:44

@ScotsBaby2 I'm up for Facebook group too!
my expected due date is 5th August i think u have me down as the 10th😊

I'm from Northern Ireland will be 9 weeks tomorrow still no letter for midwife app!

Been awol recently work has been crazy! I feel so yucky today 😔

starryeyed13 · 30/12/2018 12:44

Thank you @Ninunina @Whoopsies and @ScotsBaby2 :) they did say the most accurate dating scan would be at the 12 week point. I am wondering though - could the dating be from implantation rather than conception? Should've asked the Sonographer. (Love that sonographer autocorrects from pornographer 😂)

Yes - got 2 photos to take away and the head is really clearly visible in one of the photos. Exciting but terrifying at the same time 🤭

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Blueberry2018 · 30/12/2018 12:45

@CalmerComber Work in gloucestershire, live in herefordshire!

Funkyemzie · 30/12/2018 13:11

I have booked a private scan for 8 weeks but I'm so scared, I'm really considering a 6 week one, only thing is they're £59 each.

Woke up this morning at about 5am absolutely scared to death and just started sobbing! Damn my overactive brain!

I think I've put this before but I'm Staffordshire Moorlands, right on the Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire boarder. I think the Facebook page page is a great idea! X

mrsof20118 · 30/12/2018 13:21

@starryeyed13 i came under lmp on first scan and now baby has caught up to 2 days ahead. Guess that's why they don't date it until later on x

ScotsBaby2 · 30/12/2018 13:29

@starryeyed13 the sonographers dating will be from measurements taken. Tbh I wouldn't take much notice of any dates until 12 week scan. They are really just a guess at the moment and once you get your date at 12 weeks it won't change. A friend had ivf so they knew conception and implantation but her date still changed at 12 week scan.

starryeyed13 · 30/12/2018 13:31

Thank you @mrsof20118 that's good to know x

@Funkyemzie It's such an anxious time isn't it? When I've woken up worrying in the night I put an episode of something tacky on my phone to take my mind off things which I find helps. I know the early scan is expensive but I had mine today and honestly it's made me feel a lot more relaxed (for now!) x
