Good luck with the scan tomorrow @EverythingNow
I'm not sure if my scan will be internal tomorrow either. If I remember well it wasn't with DD2 at 8 weeks. I don't know if I should go with a full bladder or not.

UnicornDust17 · 26/12/2018 21:13

@Ninunina good luck with your scan too. Maybe go with a full bladder and they'll let you go to the loo if it's internal?

Our epu trys to do an external first, then internal second if necessary.

ScotsBaby2 · 26/12/2018 21:21

Good luck with all the scans ladies. Me and OH got engaged on 23rd so trying to celebrate that while pregnant is going to be tricky! Both sides of the family have been told. Just need to do Grandparents now but only engagement news. Not baby! It's hush hush until end of January.

rosetintedview · 26/12/2018 21:23

Hi......am I too late to join you? Got my surprise bfp last Friday 😬

Blueberry2018 · 26/12/2018 21:24

Congratulations @ScotsBaby2 !! How exciting :-) gl to all with scans coming up.

Blueberry2018 · 26/12/2018 21:25

Congrats @rosetintedview ! Welcome to the group!

EverythingNow · 26/12/2018 21:31

@ninunina the clinic I'm going to says no need for a full bladder. Good luck for tomorrow too x

Congratulations @scotsbaby2

Welcome @rosetintedview

Kcjoe · 26/12/2018 21:43

Hi! I am about 5 weeks pregnant. Bit of a long one but I've had an eventful week. I had the copper coil fitted on Mon 17th. Then found out I was pregnant on the Thursday 🙄 I had an emergency appt for a blood test and my bag was only 20. I had another on Xmas eve and it had gone up to 101. Then I had to go to hospital today for another blood test. My levels were 270 something so the pregnancy was definitely confirmed. I'm going in tomorrow for a scan but it's believed that it's not ectopic. Scan is to confirm and remove the coil. There's obviously a small chance of miscarriage when it's removed 😕 but for now I'm due an August baby! X

rosetintedview · 26/12/2018 21:53

Thanks! I'm still trying to get my head around it to be honest as we weren't trying and this will be dc3. I'll also be 40 next year which is freaking me out somewhat. I Lao have. History of early miscarriage so will be calling the dr tomorrow to try and get a referral for an early scan - if that goes well then I'll start taking it seriously (and worrying about all the other stuff!)

EverythingNow · 26/12/2018 22:54

@rosetintedview I'm 40 next year too and this will be number 4. This one was planned but my dc3 was a surprise. What ages are your others?

rosetintedview · 26/12/2018 23:20

@EverythingNow my others are 5 and 2....glad to have company in the age stakes - dh keeps asking helpful questions like "were the doctors worried about your age last time?" and "how many people do you know have had babies this old then?" 🙄. What made you decide to go for a 4th after a surprise 3rd?

RaindropsRoses · 27/12/2018 07:12

Wow congrats kcjoe do you feel ok about the situation? What a shock that must have been. This was unplanned for us but we were being stupid by sometimes not using condoms so not overly surprising but must have been quite the surprise after getting the coil!

Congrats and good luck rosetintedview

My sickness has really ramped up the last few days after not having any symptoms before, still the only sign though. Spent last night googling frantically if it could be twins or something as it is worse already than with ds and Im not even 6 weeks yet but apparently carrying a girl can mean more sickness too as hcg levels are higher so we shall see I suppose! Really hope it settles down before back to work in the new year but I dont think thats likely for a while yet

Kemigodwin · 27/12/2018 07:57

Glad to be here. Had few days of spotting but has stopped. Just fill tired most of the time

Snoopie · 27/12/2018 08:18

Hi all, after feeling strangely tired and sick all boxing day, thought it was worth doing a test. Just got a surprise bfp! Whilst hungover....Blush
We had a m/c earlier this year in Feb, so not too excited tbh. It'll be our first. Fingers crossed for us all!

ScotsBaby2 · 27/12/2018 08:30

My symptoms are non existent currently. I have really achy stomach muscles but I don't know if that is baby related or lifting a 1 year old.
I've got none of the symptoms I had with my first pregnancy. I had tender boobs, loose stools, nausea and increased sex drive.

Anyone else struggling with no symptoms? Anyone have achy stomach muscles?

Blueberry2018 · 27/12/2018 08:38

@ScotsBaby2 I get achy tummy muscles across abs when i've done too much, so would imagine its from lifting your 1yr old x

Kcjoe · 27/12/2018 08:50

Thank you @RaindropsRoses. We feel ok about it. We are obviously aware of the risks with this pregnancy and the removal of the coil so what will be will be. I turned 37 on Xmas day (no alcohol 😫) And my partner is 38. Im geriatric 😂 I have a 7 year old boy and my partner has an 8 year old girl. I came off the depo in July. We weren't consciously trying. It was a "if it happens it happens" type of thing! Then at the beginning of November we decided to use protection as I had been offered a job and we were going to wait 6 months or so before 'trying'. We used condoms after my AF and then I had the coil fitted. The test was negative on the morning of the coil being fitted 🙄 I also got pregnant with my son whilst on the pill! I'm not sure how far I am. My last AF started on 25th November but my cycles varied since coming off the depo 22-26 days usually. Good luck with your pregnancy. Internal scan today 🤞

Whoopsies · 27/12/2018 09:02

@KcJoe congratulations. I'm also pregnant despite supposedly having the coil in! But I can't find my strings so it's either gone up or come out. We think out! I'm having a scan tomorrow to see baby and see if they can see it anywhere!! Hope you get it sorted asap so you can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.

Blueberry2018 · 27/12/2018 09:02

@Kcjoe Good luck, will be thinking of you! Like you said, what will be will be.

Kcjoe · 27/12/2018 09:15

Congratulations @Whoopsies! I can feel the strings on mine occasionally. So I think Its still where it should be. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. And thank you @Blueberry2018 The Gynae assessment unit where I was yesterday just called me. It's too early for a scan, as I thought, so hopefully they can get me in on Monday (new years eve) instead. The coil is staying in until I have the scan 😕x

Whoopsies · 27/12/2018 09:31

@kcjoe yes they have made me wait until 8 weeks for this scan! As long as I wasn't having any bleeding or pain, which I'm not. Been a long wait though!

OctoberGirl91 · 27/12/2018 10:11

Seen my GP to ask about aspirin today after my MC at 7+4 on 4th October she wouldn't advise it as I've had two healthy full term baby but it is safe if I want to take it so undecided!

I am hoping to get EPU to give me an early scan around 8/9 weeks and it's self referral should I wait till nearer time? Anyone else done this I am around 5/6 weeks I think got a 3+ on clearblue today after getting 1-2 10 days ago xx

bubblegumunicorn · 27/12/2018 10:41

So my stepdad almost figured out I'm pregnant at the Christmas dinner table. Not exactly how I wanted it to come out so I lied to there faces 🙈🤭 I think I'm going to tell them today. Anyone else get nervous telling the parents? I feel like a teenager right now not a 28 year old woman 😂

KMic · 27/12/2018 10:50

Morning all!

Welcome to the newbies! So nice that we are still getting new people at this stage. Lovely Christmas presents for you all.

My nausea has really stepped up a gear now! So glad I'm working from home until the new year! I plan to tell my boss on my first day back as I think it will be quite noticeable in terms of how ill I look / feel. Hoping she might agree to me working at home a bit more.

Just cleaned my house after hosting Boxing Day! Hubs was such a star and really helped me out all day, so thought I would give him the morning off. Haha.

My spotting also seems to have stopped which I'm pleased about. Only lasted a day - and very slight.

Good luck to those with scans coming up!!

KMic · 27/12/2018 10:51

@bubblegumunicorn ... I was a bit worried - even though I'm recently married so it's kind of expected! But they were both so happy for us. You'll be fine! Xx
