Hi guys thought I'd just update on my scan: we saw a little heartbeat flickering away in there and was measuring bang on for 6+6. Oh I'm so relieved, I was bricking it afterthe miscarriage last time and all the trials of IVF. Hope I can relax a little now!

Chocolate89 · 19/12/2018 16:53

I'm 7+3 and baby measuring bang on that! (I'd be 8+1 by lmp, but 7+3 by ovulation dates) she told me the measurements but I was crying at that stage about the hb so I can't remember 😂

Ninunina · 19/12/2018 16:55

Hi @UnicornDust17 , I'm doing ok. Spotting has pretty much stopped now, so that's a relief. The progesterone I'm taking is taken orally 3 times a day. It's called Duphaston. It seems to have done the trick to stop the bleeding. I do wish I had another scan this week. My next one is on the 27th, so not far away, but I'm still quite anxious. I keep worrying that I was a lot sicker with my girls. I get the occasional wave of nausea, but nothing like the first two.

Ninunina · 19/12/2018 16:56

Great news about the good scans @Chocolate89 & @orangefolly

Blueberry2018 · 19/12/2018 17:20

Congratulations @Chocolate89 and @orangefolly . Ive been told midwife will contact me- do i need to book scan or will they do this on my first appointment with midwife?

Whoopsies · 19/12/2018 18:17

Here's another pregnancy symptom I had forgotten about from last time; nose bleeds!! And sneezing blood!! Delightful!

I need to catch up on today's thread as not had a chance today at work but had to quickly share to those who will understand bought some new bras today to contain my very sore heavy boobs - feel SO much better now and all the quadruple boob has gone hurray! 🤣😂🤗

avacadooo · 19/12/2018 18:34

Oh my god guys, went to the gp she's signed me off for another week just until I sort myself out and gave me anti nausea pills! I've managed to eat chips and have an orange juice and walk home! 🙌
And I got laxatives because who doesn't love a bit of pregnancy constipation thrown into the mix 😂

newmumma2019 · 19/12/2018 18:45

@Chocolate89 @orangefolly great news and fingers crossed we have similar on Friday

@avacadooo great to hear you had something hopefully the meds will help. Lots of rest and relaxation Smile

Cardi86 · 19/12/2018 19:03

I had my early scan at the fertility clinic, all is well! Due date is 2/8/19 but they said that might change at my booking scan at 12 weeks.
So I’m 7+5 today and I had to buy new jeans! I’ve gone up a whole size and even bought maternity jeans! How ridiculous is that?! Everything I read is telling me “you probably won’t look pregnant yet”... ya right!! I’m so obvious!! We’ve decided to tell our parents at Christmas cause there really is no hiding it!

canonlyhopexo · 19/12/2018 19:17

I had a delightful 3 hour wait in a walk in clinic today after not hearing back from my GP. Because I did a wee this morning I haven't been admitted but i have finally got the anti sickness medication! Had eggs on toast which has managed to stay down even tho I just kept thinking of my dodgy midwife comment!

dragonmummy17 · 19/12/2018 19:25

@Chocolate89 @orangefolly @Cardi86 that's great about your scans!
@clairelee17 I haven't actually been sick and that's completely different to last time when I was sick every day. I'm getting the nausea but only if I haven't eaten recently. My only other symptoms are bloating and extreme tiredness.

JenMumma · 19/12/2018 19:37

@ss3ajb 😂😂😂 you go girl! They changed my life !!! 😘

avacadooo · 19/12/2018 19:45

@canonlyhopexo I'm so glad you got help! Keep trying to drink water, do you feel a bit better yet?💕

canonlyhopexo · 19/12/2018 19:53

Thank you @avacadooo I'm relieved I've finally got something in the house that will hopefully help me but a bit gutted I've been signed off with HG as I'm hate to let people down and I'm so busy! We've already got lots of people off sick at the mo.
The drs recommended sipping lucozade sport little and often so trying that which is taking the edge off now to be fair. How you feeling now? Another week signed off will do you good if now getting nausea and sickness too as well as BP problems!

newmumma2019 · 19/12/2018 19:58

I'm sorry to hear of all the awful sickness you are all having. Is anyone else not experiencing sickness? Is it a cause for concern?

Ninunina · 19/12/2018 20:09

@newmumma2019 I have lots of friends who didn't feel sick at all. I guess it's like sea sickness, some people get it, others don't!

newmumma2019 · 19/12/2018 20:12

Aw thank you @Ninunina can be slightly worrying but then the breast pains are horrendous! Thank you tho that's a relief!

bluesdetoi · 19/12/2018 20:28

Hopping on here! Got my convincing BFP today, and due date according to LMP is August 22nd.

Is anyone making a facebook group for our August babies (sorry if this is against mumsnet rules to ask about, I'm a rare visitor so FB group would be super convenient for me.)

QueenofFox · 19/12/2018 20:37

@Chocolate89 and @orangefolly great news!! Fingers crossed I can share something similar on Friday. Getting nervous now.

@EverythingNow Harmony is a private blood test that tests for genetic abnormalities (downs, Edwards among others). It's about £300-400 depending on where you live. Can be done from 9 weeks. You only get it on NHS if you're a known genetic carrier and even then it depends on your area/hospital. It essentially replaces the need for the 12w scan (and 20 wk although the latter is more to do with physical well-being I.e all digits, heart chambers etc) which are primarily to test for abnormalities rather than just so we can see the baby. If something shows up at 12wk you can have harmony on nhs instead of CVS or amino (both have miscarriage rate of between 1-10%) for certain conditions, but others will need cvs or amnio (or you can opt not to know of course) for confirmation testing. Hope that makes sense.

clairelee17 · 19/12/2018 20:54

Hi @dragonmummy17 you've literally described me when you mentioned your symptoms. I also have quite a bit of bloating, extreme tiredness and no sickness. Lucky us, I guess!!

Blii · 19/12/2018 20:57

@orangefolly great news about the scan.

I havnt felt pregnant today, my boobs no longer ache and I don’t really have any symptoms. Think I’m losing hope.

newmumma2019 · 19/12/2018 20:59

@dragonmummy17 @clairelee17 I'm absolutely the same!! Glad not the only one

ScarletGlow · 19/12/2018 21:19

Hi @OctoberGirl91, it's hard to tell your due dates when you have an irregular cycle. But I think the luteal phase usually lasts around 14 days, so for now, maybe you could assume your period was due around 14 days after ovulation? Meaning this would be a 38 day cycle for you. It's just a rough guess until you have your scan and they can give you a more accurate due date.

Regarding early scans, I feel like they're similar to pregnancy tests - the later you do them, the more accurate and reliable they are, and doing them too soon can cause you unnecessary stress. Having said that, I think there's nothing wrong with doing it at around 9/10 weeks if you can afford it. I think you and DH should try to get on the same page beforehand though, rather than you just going on your own without telling him or anything like that. You need to be able to make important decisions together :)

I am in a similar position to you as I had an MMC earlier this year which meant about 4 early scans. This time I'm only going for an early scan if I feel like something's wrong or I have any worrying symptoms, otherwise I plan to wait till 12 weeks. The way I look at it, going for an early scan didn't help me last time, it just put me in limbo for a few weeks.

EverythingNow · 19/12/2018 22:24

Thank you @queenoffox that reassures me that i don't need to sort that asap, I'll speak to the midwife in January when I'm 9wks.
