JenMumma · 19/12/2018 10:20

@Jelliestogether SNAP! I'm thinking of getting one but I know I don't need one and need to relax. May sell my gift of love to shop vouchers on the sly and book one anyway 😂😂 x x

Chocolate89 · 19/12/2018 10:35

Hi all, got my scan today and all well! Good strong heartbeat and measuring bang on! So edd 4th august! Had my appointment with my consultant after and she's happy, she said that the rate of miscarraige comes right down once there is a hb. So booked in for my next scan in 3 weeks time 🤗 feel like a weight has been lifted and i can enjoy my xmas now!
Feeling v nauseated though and off food, lost a few pounds already so doc said whatever I can stomach to just eat that and we would worry about scurvy later in the pregnancy 😂 so white toast for me it is!!

@Chocolate89 OMG your baby is beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍🎉🎉🎉🎉

clairelee17 · 19/12/2018 10:40

@chocolate89 congratulations! That's amazing to hear the heartbeat! What a lovely Christmas present! How many weeks are you? x

KMic · 19/12/2018 10:52

Lovely scan pic @Chocolate89 - congrats!

@clairelee17 I am totally the same as you! Trying not to panic. First pregnancy for me so don't know what to expect. Had a bit of nausea here and there, but nothing unmanageable. Breasts were heavy last night but are fine again today. The tiredness is the most noticeable thing for me! From about 4-7 I feel zonked, but then by bed time can't sleep! And keep getting up to wee!! Try not to worry - it's actually quite reassuring for me knowing you are the same as I was also concerned at just how sick everyone else was feeling. I spoke to my mum about it - who I told yesterday - and she didn't really suffer with sickness either which made me feel better. Let's just be hopeful that we are the lucky ones!

So sorry for those of you who have had losses ... can I ask if you all had symptoms / blood with your losses ... I want to be realistic and know what to expect in case things don't work out. Someone I know had no symptoms of miscarriage and didn't find out until she went for her scan when they told her unfortunately there was no heart beat. I know that's quite rare, but it does get you worrying a bit!

avacadooo · 19/12/2018 10:54

@Jelliestogether my booking appointment is 9th January so I'll be 9 weeks by then but I think they're really busy up here.

I've also lost 1.3kg and struggling with the nausea and not being able to eat😭 going to the doctor today cause I can't cope with this for the next 6 weeks.

avacadooo · 19/12/2018 11:01

@JenMumma I'm fine lovely! Just chilling in bed and was on the phone to my boss for ages.xx

JenMumma · 19/12/2018 11:04

Glad to hear it @avacadooo 😃 x x

clairelee17 · 19/12/2018 11:12

@KMic - so glad I'm not the only one experiencing no sickness symptoms! Thought I was the only one, phew!

My biggest fear is heading to the 12 week scan and not hearing a heartbeat, and then finding out it stopped growing or developing from 8-9 weeks. That's why I'm thinking of an early scan, but not sure if that will help either if I was to hear a heartbeat now. Omg, it's such a dilemma.

In terms of my loss, I started having pink spotting on exactly 9 weeks, and then over the course of 2 days, it got heavier and heavier. I didn't know I was even having one as I'd only just had my booking appointment, and no scan. The third morning, I rushed to the loo and (sorry for the next bit guys) something heavy kind of fell out, like a massive clot. I had already booked a private scan the day before when I was bleeding to get it checked out, and when I went to it the day that happened, they told me there was nothing left in there. So, if I had had an early scan I could have seen it wasn't developing sooner, however, it was pretty quick, painless and 'easy', so to speak. I had no cramps or anything leading up to it, no signs which worries me now. But I thought I was on the home straight, getting to 9 weeks and just had the booking-in scan the morning before I started bleeding. I had no medical intervention or anything, was just at home. However, I must stress, not all bleeding is bad and isn't always a sign of a mc.

KMic · 19/12/2018 11:16

Thanks @clairelee17 ... I know it can't be easy to talk about and is the biggest fear for us all. But without being able to ask anyone else at this point I feel like it's good to be aware. Fingers crossed all round that we all see the next 8 months through together and deliver happy healthy babies 😍

clairelee17 · 19/12/2018 11:25

@KMic it is a bit emotional talking about it as it was my first pregnancy, but unfortunately these things happen, but no one talks about them, so no one really knows what one is like unless you know someone very close to you who has had one. I really don't mind if anyone has any questions. Thankfully I'm pregnant again, but my anxiety levels are through the roof. And having no sickness (although very slight queasiness) is making me wonder whether I'm lucky or is another bad sign. I don't want to worry you at all, these are just my unreasonable fears at the moment. Just wish these next few weeks will hurry up!

Has anyone had an early scan and it's been inconclusive?

KMic · 19/12/2018 11:35

@clairelee17 totally understand! I feel the same anxieties and I haven't MC before. Just known a few people who have so it's always a worry. Xx

newmumma2019 · 19/12/2018 12:15

Hey! Sorry haven't been on for few days and saw there was this new thread. How come it was moved?

That's for posting new link tho Smile

newmumma2019 · 19/12/2018 12:16

How is everyone doing? Have my early scan Friday and getting more and more anxious about every feeling I get the closer it gets! Anyone else like this or am I completely overreacting?

OctoberGirl91 · 19/12/2018 12:22

Glad I found you all again! Kept looking under pregnancy and couldn't find you all.

I'm suffering from a stomach bug from DD should I contact GP? Can only stomach water at moment.

Still doesn't feel real, I've been referred to midwife and awaiting Booking confirmation which I will receive her around nine weeks I never got to have my booking appointment with the other pregnancy which resulted in MC so the only other thing I'm debating at the moment is whether or not I have an early scan I don't want to have an early scan that would involve an internal scan because this brings back bad memories from the previous pregnancy when I had five or six internal scans so was thinking about maybe around nine weeks.

DH is completely against this so was thinking of going alone what's everyone thoughts?x

OctoberGirl91 · 19/12/2018 12:29

Also how would I work out due date? This cycle was very long and I didn't ovulate till CD24 and BFP on CD35 xx

xLauraa · 19/12/2018 13:03

@OctoberGirl91 I think you should just do whatever you want to do. Whatever is going to make you happier! 😊

JenMumma · 19/12/2018 15:36

JenMumma · 19/12/2018 15:37

@OctoberGirl91 I agree with @xLauraa 🙂🙂 whatever YOU want to do x x

EverythingNow · 19/12/2018 15:56

My scan is booked for next week when I'll be 8w3d. I just want to make sure there's a baby in there! Only 7 days to go! Reasons I booked it was due to an early loss in April, I'm a bit old, and it wasn't an option when I had dc1-3 unless you drove to a big city and had lots of money.

To reassure those without sickness/symptoms I did not have them in 3 successful pregnancies.

Finally can anyone explain Harmony tests to me. I'm 39 so presume I'll be high/higher risk? Do they mean you don't need an amniocentisis? Are they are private thing or done on NHS? Thanks

EverythingNow · 19/12/2018 15:57

Oh and wow @chocolate89 Congratulations lovely xx

Birdtale · 19/12/2018 16:30

Advice please! Smile
I've had my dating scan through today for the 9th Jan. When do you get your scan appointment through or do they book it there for you? (1st pregnancy sorry for the questions!)
Reason I'm asking is we go away with friends on the 19th Jan and with Christmas and going away for NYE I don't think I can get away with not drinking again and not being found out especially as there's only four of us going. Considering booking a private one as we don't want to tell people until we have seen baby on the screen.

TIA x

UnicornDust17 · 19/12/2018 16:32
