Went back to Slimming World this morning...I have lost 23lbs since Matilda was born.

In laws are visiting. MIL is cleaning my house and tutting at my slovenliness and FIL and DH are sorting the junk room into a nursery while I feed feed feed and try to nap.

balalalala · 13/12/2018 14:44

@emwithme that sounds good! Enjoy the nap!

How's everyone else getting on? We've finally had our hearing test and got our red book. I'm feeling much better today having been to the chiropractor this morning and being put back to the right place!

@emwithme at least your mil is being useful I guess 😂 mine would be tutting at my slovenliness while holding my baby and expecting me to clean. Really looking forward to her visit 🤣

Elliot is 5 days old now and he is doing well. I’m struggling a bit with baby blues today. My little lad is 18 months old and is hurting really badly. He’s very scared of the new baby and is really upset when I’m holding him and won’t come near me. It’s literally breaking my heart seeing him like this and I’m massively mourning the relationship we used to have. I hope it won’t take him long to get used to how it is now and that these blues will pass and I can actually turn back into a rational human being

Oh @olga you poor thing, that is so tough on all of you. As you say, it will pass, but that doesn't change the now. Can you get him a dolly of his own to look after?

@Olga Oh bless you that sounds tough. A friend of mine is currently having similar with her newborn and toddler son. Heartbreaking! I hope things settle down for you all soon.
Been at the hospital for monitoring due to reduced movements last night and this morning. Baby seems fine though and of course magically woke up and rolled about as soon the monitor was put on...little monkey but I have never felt such relief. He hadn't moved for ages, I tried everything and he wouldn't budge which is not like him at all. Anyway we have now been sent home as they were happy with the trace thingy after a while. Due date tomorrow!

Hang in there @Olga!!!

@athers it’s so reassuring to go in and have them checked. They were lightning fast with me when I had my induction and I’m so glad I went. I had been clapping and shaking him for about 20 mins and no joy - so they just whipped him out!!

Today is my due date! Which can only mean one thing...he won't be born today!
Kind of accepted now that he's going to be late and may not be out before Xmas now.

kaytees · 15/12/2018 11:58

Ahhh @Athers666 I'm sure he will be here by Xmas! Come on baby, mums waited long enough now.

@0lgaDaPolga that is so tough for you- I have to admit I'm worried about the same happening here, I have been laying on the 'being a big brother is super important' stuff but not sure how it'll play out. You're right though, those hormones will be playing a big role!

5 days left for me... eek!

I'm now 40+9 and had a sweep this morning. Procedure was not bad, actually, even tho i was only 1cm dilated.
Now cramping & sniffing clary sage as i am very keen to meet this baby! It's extra good as there was literally no progress (hard, posterior cervix) 2 days ago xxx

Matilda is now 17 days old and in the middle of a growth/feeding spurt.

She slept lots overnight (waking 2 - 3 hourly for feeds, being awake but solidly feeding for an hour, going back down nicely afterwards) but then was awake and pretty much feeding between 10.30 and 18.00. She's gone down for a nap now but I'm not convinced it's going to last long!

A onesie that was too big four days ago now fits perfectly!

So obsessed with Facebook that I lost the thread!

Thomas Sean was born 12/12 at 12.27pm (5 days ahead of EDD) at 9lb 3oz.

Labour was fast but a tad traumatic. Birth plan went out the window but he arrived safely without the need for intervention.

@Stephisaur oh congratulations hun!!! I have been thinking about you recently as hadn’t heard from you for a while.
He’s gorgeous. What a chunky little monkey. You said you had big babies didn’t you.
Why was it traumatic?
@Athers666 happy due date!!! I’m sure baby will be here before Xmas don’t worry. I didn’t think they let you go more then 10 days over anymore.

@emwithme Wow, can't believe Matilda is 17 days old already! X

Stephisaur · 16/12/2018 04:34

@magicalcreatures I laboured really quickly (3cm - 9cm in about 3 hours) and then he just started coming. Contractions never got more regular than every 5 minutes either :(

He also pooped in his waters, which created a lot of issues although thankfully he didn’t breathe any in.

Also, stitches are painful so I can’t forget about it just yet!

Report
kaytees · 16/12/2018 13:30

Congratulations @Stephisaur ! He's beautiful. My first was that weight too and I agree the stitches ain't fun. Hope you're getting some rest x

MagicalCreatures · 16/12/2018 17:40

@Stephisaur oh bless you. You weren’t induced were you? So did you manage to get to hospital in plenty of time?
Oooo stitches!!! The part I’m really not looking forward too. Well I’m sure it was all worth it though. He’s got a gorgeous little face.
@emwithme I can’t believe Matilda is nearly 3 weeks already. It goes way too fast. It’s not fair. They should be made to stay little for much longer then they do.

@magicalcreatures nope, went into spontaneous labour. Got sent home the first time I went in but thankfully they weren’t too busy and let me stay the second time we went! He was born within 5 hours of my second examination!

Well... I'm having a c section tomorrow at some point.. So it may be me!
I feel really strange.. I feel quite numb abd sad abd not very excited just anxious.
Husband is frantically cleaning and sterilising and I'm changing all the bed linen damp dusting etc. It's all making me quite stressed. He hasn't smiled at all to do apart from at our son..

MagicalCreatures · 17/12/2018 09:05

@smorgasborgen good luck today darling. You’ll do great. Can’t believe you get to meet your little one very soon. Did you plan for a c-section originally?
Let us know how everything goes. X x x x

@Stephisaur that’s what I’m worried about. Them sending me home and then it being too late 😂 Atleast it was all over quickly. I hoping I’m not one of those that has contractions for 3 days before something really starts to happen.
How are you getting on at home now? X

@magicalcreatures not doing too bad. DH is being really helpful and just adores Thomas. BFing is going well, we’re all just trying to settle into our new life!

2 days overdue now and currently having quite bad period pains, does it mean anything necessarily or is the little dude just teasing me again? Only having B Hicks and not proper contractions or anything but the pain is quite bad, like first day of period type feeling.
