@Athers666 how's Casper today??
Big hugs hope your ok too 😘

Athers666 · 14/04/2019 10:52

Thank you guys. He isn't great, suspected bacterial infection. We'll likely be staying a goid few days. I've been doing lots of crying!

MagicalCreatures · 14/04/2019 11:05

@December2018 eeek!!! Look at that. How are you feeling? And what made you do a test?
@Athers666 you’ve really been through the mill lately haven’t you. I wonder how he would get a bacterial infection. Was it just a high temp that made you take him in? X

@Athers666 keep that chin up girl we've got your back if you need to vent it out... sending lots of speedy recovery hugs to Casper 😘
@MagicalCreatures I only tested because it was exactly a year ago we tested positive with Oliver, I was a day late from my period so I just did it... was noooot expecting that positive lol I'm over the moon but soooo anxious, my best friend has a little boy and a little girl and they're 13 months apart and they are inseparable best friends... thinking of them two is keeping me sane.
I'm going to her little boys 4th birthday party at 2 today.... Spider-Man is a special guest haha

Athers666 · 15/04/2019 16:44

Casper's quite unwell and not himself. They suspect meningitis but not sure if viral or bacterial. Heartbreaking to see him like this on the antibiotics drip. We'll get through somehow though.

MagicalCreatures · 16/04/2019 11:20

@Athers666 oh god I’m so sorry. I’m really keeping my fingers crossed for you that it isn’t meningitis.
How are you holding it together? I wanna come and give you a big hug x

Still waiting on test results so not sure what's wrong with Casper yet. We're finding it tough as no clue when we will get home. Casper is not smiling at all which is so upsetting. I've been crying a lot!

December2018 · 16/04/2019 16:20

@Athers666 ohhh hun! Big hugs, I can't even begin to imagine how your feeling, I'm so sorry your going through this

Athers666 · 16/04/2019 16:42

Aw thank you. It is so hard to see him suffering like this and being unable to help him. Good news is he is still feeding so that's something. His cannula fell out and blood came weeping through the bandage so he had a fresh one put in, so upsetting to sit helpless as he screams.

December2018 · 17/04/2019 08:17

@Athers666 that sounds horrible, I hope it's over soon and he gets better
How is he today? And how are you? Hope your ok 💐

December2018 · 17/04/2019 08:18

@MagicalCreatures how are you and that gorgeous little boy 😍

MagicalCreatures · 17/04/2019 22:03

@Athers666 how is Casper doing? And how are you coping?
@December2018 were alright thanks Hun. He’s been showing signs of teething though for about 4 weeks and the last few days he’s been really restless and in pain but yet there is still nothing coming through. So frustrating.
More importantly, how are you feeling? X

December2018 · 17/04/2019 22:20

@MagicalCreatures ohhh he will soon have those little pickle stabbers 😍 is he drooling a lot and wanting to chew you/everything all the time?
Oliver is getting his bottom 2 but they haven't erupted through the gum yet they are just sitting underneath waiting! 😂
I'm good thanks babe, the sickness is kicking in now 😳 I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow so I'm still in the early worrying about every twinge stage lol

Athers666 · 18/04/2019 06:34

Great news. It isnt meningitis! Just an unknown infection but he's been taken off the very strong meds and just on the antibiotics once a day. They may even stop those. Hopefully find out today. Such a relief we've been so so worried and upset

December2018 · 18/04/2019 06:38

@Athers666 thank goodness!! I've literally been so worried, ohh hun I'm relieved hopefully it's all good from here on out, you need to treat yourself hun, I think you did amazingly well coping with all that and holding it together!
Casper is so lucky to have a mummy like you 😊

Athers666 · 18/04/2019 06:48

@December2018 stop you'll make me cry! It has been so so hard.
So excited you're cooking another little one already, I might have said before but I'd have loved to have 2 close in age like that, sooo awesome x

MagicalCreatures · 18/04/2019 06:51

@Athers666 thanks goodness. So relieved for you all. Ditto what December said!!!!
I don’t think I would have held it together at all x

OP posts:
December2018 · 18/04/2019 06:53

@Athers666 it's true! I think if I was in your predicament I'd have just hid under a table and cried! 😂 but you held it together like a champ!
Awww thanks hun! I think the shock is turning into excitement now, I know it's gonna be sooo hard with 2 so young but it will be worth it when they're older and able to play together, and I've done it all in one go and "hopefully" have my life back by my late 40s haha x

MagicalCreatures · 18/04/2019 20:34

@December2018 sorry, in reply to your question the other day, yes Brady is chewing his fist, toys, my fingers, everything. Drooling like a dog and randomly screaming like his in pain. But I can’t feel or see anything 😡

OP posts:
Athers666 · 19/04/2019 09:56

We are home! Have to go to the hospital once a day for 5 days for his antibiotics drip at 4pm. A pain but at least we're home! We're all exhausted but we'll bounce back x

MagicalCreatures · 21/04/2019 16:15

@Athers666 that’s brilliant news. Onward and upward in your recovery Casper!!!

Just popping in to say hello again and see how everyone is getting on! Can’t believe these babies are all getting so big now 😩 Callie is a serious nap avoider at the moment and seems to think a couple 20 min power naps a day is enough to see her through! She’s better at night and I tend to get a few good chunks of sleep from her but daytime is not so easy 🤦🏻‍♀️

MagicalCreatures · 23/04/2019 10:50

@PickettBowtruckles wow its so lovely to hear from you. Callie is a beautiful name.
I'm getting Brady weighed tomorrow. That should be Interesting.
And strangely Brady is doing the same thing at the moment. He's always been a good napper during the day. But just lately he's been fighting them and only getting 20 minutes here or there. It then makes him harder to get down at night. A good hour nap a couple of times a day does him good.
How many times are you getting up with Callie in the night for feeds x

December2018 · 23/04/2019 12:33

@PickettBowtruckles hey there!! Nice to hear from you!
Callie is a beautiful name! Oliver is a nap avoider too at the moment, I have enough time to make a coffee & maybe wash a dish but that's about it ha ha 😂😂

PickettBowtruckles · 23/04/2019 12:35

Good luck with Brady’s weigh in! They still make me nervous to be honest - we’re 15 weeks now and I’m only just beginning to not cry before each weigh in 😂 After all my attempts to get off her top ups and failing and weight loss each time, she’s somehow weaned herself off them and is continuing to gain which is a huge relief though.

The nap thing is a nightmare isn’t it! I find myself driving round and round to try and extend a nap if she falls asleep in the car as I know she’ll scream and wake up if I stop.

Nights are a bit hit and miss, she went through a great phase of sleeping 10-6 but that only lasted a few weeks, then we regressed massively and she was waking every 90 minutes. We’re now in a kind of routine of she’s down for the night at 10pm, usually wakes somewhere between 3 and 4 for a feed, then again somewhere between 5 and 7, and then if I’m lucky she’ll go back down for a couple hours. How is Brady doing at night? So pleased to see you guys kept this thread active!
