@MagicalCreatures looook at him!
What a clever little man! 😍😍
Oliver sort of started laughing this morning 😊

Athers666 · 30/03/2019 09:20

Omg Casper did a big laugh this morning as well. Tried to make him do it again but he refused of course.

December2018 · 30/03/2019 09:27

Omg! It must be a funny day to our little ones haha!
So what are everyone's plans for Mother's Day?
I'm really looking forward to it... it's my birthday though too 😂

Athers666 · 30/03/2019 22:18

Ugh been in tears and had a go at my husband. He went to the pub this evening and I just got wound up, Casper is cranky with his cold and I'm just shattered and need 5 mins to myself. He only naps if I'm holding him still so I can't pop him down and take a breather. Anyway I had a bit of a go at him for going out drinking and leaving me to deal with it all (he was working today and went straight from work without coming home) but now I feel a bit bad. He works really hard and needs a break too. Ugh.

December2018 · 31/03/2019 10:42

@Athers666 it's sooo hard isn't it babe! My shit neighbours had a party on Friday night until 4 in the morning and Oliver is up at about 5 so I had next to no sleep at all, and my OH went to the gym and spent all day there yesterday I was fuming when he got home! It's overwhelming sometimes when you can't have a little break!

But on a lighter note happy mother's day to all you lovely ladies!
Your babbas are so lucky to have each and every one of you!
It's my birthday today too and as cranky and full on Oliver is, I honestly couldn't have wished for a more beautiful birthday present than my little man 😍.... although he is ragging my hair as I type this.... 😂

Athers666 · 31/03/2019 10:51

Aw Happy Birthday @December2018 and happy Mother's Day to everyone.
Casper did loads of loud laughs this morning, melts my heart he does and is so worth all the exhaustion and stress haha.

Athers666 · 31/03/2019 10:54

Lol selfie

Athers666 · 31/03/2019 10:55

Argh Casper's selfie didn't post!

MagicalCreatures · 31/03/2019 13:26

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY you gorgeous lot!!!!
Well I think we all deserve the best day ever.
And happy birthday @December2018
The night before last Brady was a little pickle. He’s teething really badly and I think he knew he wasn’t in his usual bed so had me awake pretty much allllll night. My sister ended up staying up with him from 5am so I could go climb into bed with my little niece (which was lovely) and get some sleep.
He spent most the day crying so exhausted himself and last night slept really well. I think I got about 4 hours unbroken. WINNER!!!!
I feel your pain about the gym. That’s one of the main problems I’ve had with my DH. Your it wrong to have a go. They can be really selfish and not realise that we don’t get any us time at all. Nothing changes for them. EVERYTHING changes for us x

Happy mothers day.

Took amber to a party yesterday. She often (but not always) prefers strangers to me!

And found out we have the same 'moon sign '
Apparently it reflects your instinctive, feminine self whereas star signs reflect your interaction with the world. If you like that kind of thing... not everyone's cup of tea!

December2018 · 31/03/2019 19:32

@raysan1 amber is beautiful! She has the prettiest little face I've ever seen!

That Mother's Day poem brought a tear to my eye 😂... I'm still emotional from all these crazy hormones I think 😳

Athers666 · 31/03/2019 19:38

Amber is gorgeous!

Ah, thanks, she's just great - strong and alert too. Now i am worried about her becoming vain and shallow because its the first thing most people say. My cleaner stands over her and screams 'oh beauty beauty beauty beauty beauty. Beautiful girl. Yes'.

We can't win, eh?! GrinGrin

The poem really connected with me because people see a happy baby and assume that every moment is fun. These words seemed to help me in acknowledging that most of it is thankless but our babies can show it in ways they don't understand

Athers666 · 02/04/2019 10:31

Hey guys! Just been out and about in the car and wanted to ask, what are yours like when in the car? Casper does fall asleep but...sit too long at traffic lights or in a queue and he wakes up and cries. I hate driving when he's kicking off, makes me feel so flipping stressed out and nervous!

December2018 · 02/04/2019 11:10

@Athers666 yep! Oliver is the same haha!
Sounds awful but I turn the radio up a little bit because I know as soon as I'm on the move again he settles 😖
But if he's really kicking off I pull over and 9/10 he's hungry so I'll feed him and pop his dummy back in

December2018 · 02/04/2019 11:24

I feel like such a bad parent today I've got Oliver sat in front of the tv watching baby tv just so I can have a brew!!

Athers666 · 02/04/2019 11:35

Ha yes to turning the radio up!

MagicalCreatures · 02/04/2019 13:57

@Athers666 I HATE taking Brady out in the car!!!! He hates his car seat and screams. I literally let no one out of a turning anymore because the minute the car slows or stops he screams. I get so stressed.
And when I say screams, I mean screams. Brady has this horrendous cry that sounds as if he is in serious pain. He turns bright red, tears stream out of eyes and they lock shut from it and he stops himself from breathing. My mum and sister were in shock on the way to dawlish because he did it then. My mum had to pull into a bus stop because he just wouldn’t calm down.
It’s awful!!!!
And don’t feel bad @December2018 Brady spends probably about an hour a day (split up) in front of the tv just so I can get his bottles washed and get dressed x

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a baby that cries when at traffic lights 😂
How does everyone fill their day? Ava will have a nap, then bottle, chair time, floor time then when she's had enough of those nothing else is good enough and she just cries. I spend most of my time walking in the pram as she just doesn't settle for long indoors.

@MagicalCreatures that's sounds tough in the car 😢 Ava doesn't settle as well as she used to in the car and I think it's just going to get worse.

raysan1 · 02/04/2019 16:06

Sounds like our kids have all read the same manual!
Might just be me but i now curse any driver in front of me who stops for a pedestrian or to let another car out of a junction. Guaranteed screams.

I have also reached the conclusion that i deserve a cup of tea, a shower or a poo, even if it means TV. Even if it means crying. Mamas (and attentive papas) have human rights too xxx

raysan1 · 02/04/2019 16:15

@roomarmoset, i am curious about that too.
Getting ready involves lots of picking up, dummies and bouncy chair but normally manageable in the morning by 10. Then baby gym maybe 20-50 minutes while i make & eat breakfast (depending on her mood). Feeds & changes obviously add up. Either a walk or something else out of the house like a coffee, shopping or baby activity. Once a week i take her to the creche at my gym... its £4 so would add up but very reasonable, considering the cost of those expensive gymboree things (and there is 1 staff to 2 babies).
I'll usually manage some housework and usually manage to feed myself but at random times.
Last but not least, i spend a good hour or two with her dozy, trying to persuade her to nap, haha.
2pm often feels a drag but 6pm (bathtime) comes too soon

MagicalCreatures · 02/04/2019 19:57

Well Brady wakes anywhere between 6 and 7am. He doesn’t always want a feed straight away so I usually leave him in the crib whilst I make the bed and go to the toilet whilst talking to him.
Then he will have his feed after abit of play gym time or after having an explosive poo first (which takes him atleast 15 minutes to complete) 😂
I’ll lay him in his bouncy chair where he will watch about half hour of little baby bum whilst I wash his bottles, put some washing on and (if I’m lucky) have abit of breakfast. Then he falls asleep for another 45 minutes in his chair so that’s when I go shower and get myself ready.
We spend most days out to be honest (whether it’s play group on a Tuesday or just seeing family or friends who all have babies) so I then go lay him on his changing table in his bedroom (which he loves) and we sing songs and be silly for half hour whilst I’m getting him ready.
If it’s a day when we’re home all day and I have tons of chores to do then we just mix it up with abit of nappy off time/ tummy time/ playing with toys etc between nice nap time cuddles so I get to catch up on some programmes.
Maybe pop to the shops or go for a walk those days too. It’s hard to fill the time sometimes. Especially when I’m at home and I feel like I’m going mad baby talking all day long.

How often do you all bath your little ones.
I only do Brady every other night because he’s got abit of a dry skin problem?

Also, how are you feeling @Roomarmoset?
